Hi guys,
As the title says, I've tried flashing in a new/last IceColdSandwich 8.7 AOKP last night. I've been running that mod since... well v4.x or something, never had any problems flashing it.
Procedure: the usual, download the rom, check the checksum, start the Rom Manager and install the ROM from SD, nothing weird.
This time tho I'm stuck at the white HTC screen. Any options? I tried volume-down/power switch boot but it's the same result, nothing happens.
It's worth noting that I had some issues with unresponsive volume button, but I think I'd get it right once in those 20-ish times I tried.
Any ideas?
Thanx in advance...
Try to type "adb reboot recovery" when on white HTC screen if you got adb installed.

Hi, thank for the answer...
I just get error: device not found
It's pretty weird, I used the same machine to perform rooting and all that long time ago so drivers should work. I guess I'll have to refresh those first. While I'm at it, are there any new/important/must have drivers I should use?
If I never get to HBOOT while holding volume-down + power, is that a good sign that my volume button is screwed up or can it be something else/worse?
Ok, it's fixed now...
Extremely weird that it got screwed up, it was a really stable rom. And it looks as stable now when I got it running.
I tried installing new sdk and drivers abd stuff, but just got tired of it and went loco on the volume thingie. Extremely flimsy solution, but after some buttkicking thete was suddenly a contact every now and then. After some 10 - 15 attempts to press volume-down + power button I've got it working.
Installing a rom was a snap after that. Still think it was a weird glitch trat it died on me last night.
Thank You for watching anyway

Hi,
A few months ago I installed The Italian Job 1.0 rom on my device. Everything went smooth had no problems. But a few weeks ago I wanted to update my rom. I tried booting into recovery but the following occurred: I received the message if I wanted to continue. I pressed the volume up button to continue. The next screen is the loading screen before the recovery. With the following message 'Downloading... Do not turn off target !!'. But nothing happens. Not even after an hour. I have no idea what's wrong. I can still boot into android and use my device and all the features with it.
I googled the problem but I found nothing to solve the problem. Maybe you guys have an idea?
Greetings
Thulium
You entered to download mod. Recovery mode combo is vol up+ home + power. You probably used col down instead of up

Oh wow, I feel like retard. Thanks for the fast reply!
My Nexus 7 (2013) won't turn on after I tried to install a custom font from the latest version of Rom Toolbox Pro.
I unlocked the bootloader and rooted it fresh this afternoon with WugFresh's nexus root toolkit. It took a little bit of fiddling to get my pc to recognise my device and for adb/fastboot to work with it, but I managed. Everything went fine once that was sorted out.
I have installed the latest version of Pacman rom for my device (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2408829) from the website linked here, installed all my apps and made a back up before I started using Pimp My Rom and Rom Toolbox Pro.
From Pimp My Rom I installed the GPS fix for Europe/United Kingdom, and the miscellaneous tweaks.
From Rom Toolbox Pro, I installed the font "segoeui". After making these changes with these apps, I rebooted by nexus 7 wherein it entered a bootloop. I waited for 4-5 minutes to see if it would exit the bootloop on it's own, but nothing happened so I held down the three side buttons and my device went off.
After that I plugged it into my pc, which recognises that a device has been plugged in and lists it as "QHSUSB_DLOAD" but can't seem to do anything with it. I tried pressing the power button, and the default symbol for battery charging appeared on the screen so I tried to boot my device into recovery by holding all three buttons again. After doing that, the screen went off and no matter how long I hold down the volume and power buttons, nothing at all happens.
I have only had this tablet for a few hours and I am very worried that I may have inadvertantly destroyed it with the most innocuous amateur rooting, and that I won't be able to return it for a refund if I have.
Can anyone offer me any advice?
Thanks
I think your problem is ... holding ALL three buttons.
Try again with just Power & Volume down. You made a backup so it would be easy to get back.

You're right. I held power and volume down, and it booted into the bootloader. Thanks Bit of a false alarm there, I just panicked when the screen went black and wouldn't come back on ><
Thanks for your help!
No problemo. Glad you're back in business.
I have multiple android devices and they have different key combos to get to recovery.
I got mixed up sometimes. Why don't they all agree to the same steps?
Hey guys, currently 3AM here and Ive been racking my brains for hours trying to get something ...anything to happen. Im stuck on the GPE boot screen (just a black screen with "google" in white), when I hold down Power+Volume+ it simply reboots and I end up back on that screen. The device was rooted (CWM) and was running 4.4.2, it was originally running sense but Ive been using stock for quite some time now without issue. I tried installing the new OTA update for Android 5.0 and thats when this happened. As Im getting nowhere, my current next step is to get some sleep and leave the phone to simply run out of battery (as I currently cant even turn it off, the screen is stuck on), and hopefully thatll get me somewhere. In the meanwhile, if anyone can offer some guidance it would be greatly appreciated, from what I can tell, it isnt bricked - but it may as well be because I have no way of interfacing with the thing (that Im aware of). Google has also failed me as I cant find any similar cases and most of the guides assume am able to access my device via ADB or Recovery.
Im willing to do whatever to get this phone working as I planned to factory reset anyway.
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Title should say cant access recovery! it was late =[
are you able to get the device into fastboot? you should be able to flash an RUU zip if you can.
I had the same problem. Use power + volume up to switch off and immediately just press the vol down button. You might have to try it a lot of times for it to work. It took me atleast an hour to do it lol.

Thank you so much! managed to get it into bootloader, massive relief! Thanks for the help guys.
I've dug around trying to find a similar problem here and on google, so my apologies if this has already been addressed.
The problem originally began when the game pad stopped being responsive (or at times took multiple presses to get a response) and after no luck troubleshooting it, I tried to reset from clockwork recovery.
Ever since my phone no longer boots. It just sits on the LUPUS wolf logo (I do not recall exactly which rom I am running, but I hope this helps) and at first I thought it was your normal "this can take a bit" first boot, but I've let it eat the whole battery and it never gets anywhere. I've tried to prompt the phone to boot into both custom recovery and d/l mode and neither get me anywhere. Any suggestions?

IMHO, it looks like faulty slider flex cable (exact same situation i had, but i was able to enter recovery after 2 minutes of logo on screen)
Try to power on phone with slider open.
If you can enter in recovery mode with "volume -" (if it light blue led or vibrate) and see is d-pad is working.
Sorry for the delayed reply. The notification went into my spam folder :/
Alright, I followed your steps in two ways. I opened the slider and held both the power and the volume down till I got the buzz buzz and the LED blinked green once and continued to hold volume down till I got the LUPUS logo. No luck. I did mostly the same thing the second time but I held the volume down for 3 minutes with the same result. I still have yet to make it back into recovery.

To be able to enter recovery, it is not "holding volume-" while powering on phone or keeping it pressed.
Press power button (and it should vibrate), and release it.
When blue led is on press and release vol- button many times untill you enter recovery (don't keep it pressed all time)
Ah, you are absolutely right. I've never entered recovery like that on another Android before. I loaded up the "near perfect" rom and my game pad seems to be working for now, so it appears I am back in business.
How problematic is it if my slider flex cable is going bad? Will it permanently fail eventually?
Hey There, yesterday evening I was downloading the latest cm14 (think it was nightly from the 6th december) and this morning(7th december) I tried to install it.
Now my problem:
I downloaded it via the cm13 "update cm" settings menu and then this morning i tapped on install. But as it was rebooting it just showed up the oneplus3 logo for like 10secs and then a blackscreen came. I wasnt able to do anything, if i hold power button for longtime it just started to boot again and turned after logo into the blackscreen again. So i hold power button for 15secs again and tapped when it was about to boot the volume down button to get in the like boot menu. I tried to start in the recovery mode, but same problem: First the logo and then a blackscreen. I also flashed the recovery from pc again, but, guess what?, yes... logo and blackscreen. So im actually helples and trying to get help from u guys.
I'll add some pictures later (I have to take them first) and ill try to capture it with my camera too so u can see what is my actual problem.
I hope you can help me out, so I can finally listen to music again when I walk to school ty for ur help
