Help please.
My Epic 4G Touch suddenly said my battery went from 94% last night to 0%
I've tested and wall charged all my batteries, even re-flashed my ROM and still get the same reading on the phone.
Plugged in, it works, but if I unplug it, it shuts down immediately.
I have work deadlines to meet and I'm a little frazzled. Am I screwed??
Thank you for any and all advice!
More information on your current rom setup might be helpful.

I have seen different opps on this.. abotu leaving it plugged in all night..
I just was not sure if it really matters, or hurts the phone? I leave it in all night and just unplug in morning when i get up.. Is that bad or what? I jsut want to see what everyone else thinks about it on here.

There was another thread exactly like this a month ago. The answer is no. There is circuitry and scripts to stop charging.

Thats my Plan!
I've heard this too. My ex girlfriend seems to think that it actually causes the battery to swell and inflate, causing it's eventual demise.

This was the case with older batteries and much older phones all modern phones protect against this. I still unplug right away out of habit though.
As a note:
When the phone charges to full and your little blue light comes on, the phone enters a state of constant discharge and recharge. Meaning that if you leave it plugged in once fully charged, when you finally take it off the charge actually may be anywhere between 95-100%.

I picked up a cheap wallcharger and spare battery. Charges to 100% and stops. It's beautiful.
This is the second time I've posted about this, hopefully someone has a solution. My battery displays that its charging 24/7. Not only is it annoying, but I feel like its depleting my battery life a great deal. I have tried wiping everything and installing different roms but the battery issue persists. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

I'd say replace the battery. Also, on another thread like this one, someone said they fixed it by powering off (?), plugging in the charger (making sure it's charging), taking the battery out, let it sit there for an arbitrary amount of time (15 minutes - 2 hours), and then putting the battery back in, rebooting. See if that helps?

You think the battery is causing my issue? I'll see if I can get a replacement. I tried your other recommendation. When I pull out the battery my phone immediately shuts off though

the recommendation didnt say that the phone should stay on... its probably gonna work anyways

Well the only way to make sure its charging is to have the battery in. Otherwise its just plugged in doing nothing
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
that is probably correct, too. I just said the recommendation didnt state the phone should stay on, so you could probably unplug it while the battery isnt in
on the other hand a new battery is 20$ and the extended one 30$
There is nothing wrong with the battery. You need to change the USB port, see http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=23789 AND comment there if you have this issue. This is a serious hardware flaw that Samsung really should look into.
I had this problem also untill I changed the USB charging board.

Hey guys!
My phone died on me yesterday since I forgot to charge it the day before, it was dead in my pocket for 3 hours until I got home.
Without bothering to do anything, I simply plugged my dead phone into the charger and went to bed. I woke up today, unplugged it from the charger and the phone stayed with the charging symbol stuck, I pressed the power button and nothing so I had to make a battery pull to get it to turn on.
Any issue to what could have caused this? also any interesting battery saving tips? sprints crappy 3g network in my area is draining the battery quickly so I turned off mobile data.
EDIT: Snap, I think this belongs in the Q&A section sorry mods
forcing 2g mode should help.
you can also get a spare battery
letting a lithium battery drain to 0 reduces its life.
Not sure what could have happened to make your phone get stuck at boot when charging.
As far as battery saving tips, there are tons all over these forums, but it really depends on what you are willing to give up as far as features in order to save battery. You can always turn down screen brightness, turn off WiFi/Bluetooth/3G, uninstall battery-hogging apps, turn off sync and background data etc.. Its all about finding a good balance though.

That's a sign of either:
dirty usb port, clean it.
Faulty or going faulty usb port.
Sometimes Rom, kernel issue.

I'm running ru jellying m1 with no special kernel.

My phone stopped charging from its regular wall charger this morning. Now when I plug it in it doesn't do anything. If I turn it off and plug it in the battery icon with the charging icon shows up then shows it charging, then it shows the charging icon again and the same thing keeps happening until the battery just dies. The only way I can get it to charge is if I plug it into usb port on my computer. Is there any solution?

It happens when u add few drops of water in charging port.. lol
Happened to me too ..
I used every trick vacuum, hair dryer, sun-light, heat etc. but didnt work
then I dipped my phone in 100 kg rice bag for 2 days .. lol
problem resolved !
I just started experiencing the same thing. Occasionally I can get it to charge, but usually it just sits there and dies. I haven't been able to test the pc charging, as I'm currently on vacation. This is pretty random, considering I've had the phone since launch day (Verizon), and have dropped it, etc in the past with no problems; then randomly it won't charge.
Had strange problems like this. Try bending the little tab in the charging port on your phone (carefully) away from the side. I haven't had a problem since.

Your charging brick or USB could be bad. Try different cords/chargers.

I've had similar issues.
Some background: It started just after I flashed the AUG 29 AOKP Jellybean nightly. It might just be a co-incidence but I saw a couple of people on rootzwiki who had a similar issue.
I wasn't charging at all then. Only when I was turned off. I was having driver issues with computers that had connected to the phone before.
I have since reset it back to stock JB and the charging from the charger seems to have been fixed. Instead my pogo pin charging is a bit iffy. It works sometimes but not always.........
Well, I spoke too soon! NOT CHARGING from the wall again. When phone is shutdown, it charges. In Android, it doesn't.
Could you tell us what you have done so far? Any solutions that you tried but didn't work?
Have you tried:
-different battery?
-using different cable or the charger?
-straightening the metal part of the port?
-cleaning the port with alcohol?
These are the known solutions for most of the Gnex port problem. If you haven't tried already, please do so. If you're still having problem with it, tell us.
Solution
This is not a randome issue... Happened to me too only ONCE and never again
Solution
Let the phone battery die out completely and then charge a bit and boot into CWM recovery. Reset battery stats and you are good to go.:good: Or you can even try reseting battery stats without complete discharge. I havent tried the later since had this problem only once. I'm not a developer but my theory is that there is some embeded software that determines power supply and due to some reason it got corrupted.
Hit THANKS if I helped
Thank you everyone for your help. Really appreciate it. So I know I didn't get it wet. And I changed chargers and batteries to no avail. Then I tried what the last post said, to wipe battery stats. I did that and restarted. Did it again because first time didn't do anything. Now its charging fine. Great relief

I'm experiencing this problem now. But I think it's because I was messing around with 'Fast Charge' settings in my AOKP Milestone 1 ROM controls without really knowing what any of it meant. I'll try to wipe battery stats and do a few reboots. I'll let you guys know.

Same problem for me now too! =\ I'm using cyanogenmod though. I reset battery stats, formatted and factory reset the thing and nothing. Also tried a few different cables. It's also no longer being recognized when connected to PC.
EDIT: Looks like the USB connector on the device was slightly off center. Bent it up a bit and it seems to be working as normal now.

Hi, last night as i was using brushing my teeth. Idk what gotten into me but instead of spitting the water back in the sink, i spitted it right into my phone....
I dried it right away, everything seems to be working normally, I charged my phone as i go to bed, it says phone is charging. But as I woke up, The percentage of battery just keeps going down instead of being increased.
I tried charging it again. Still not working, phone says it's charging but it seems like the battery not taking it. What should I do?
I'm owning a T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3. Using Darthstalker v7 if that's any helps eventhough I think this is a hardware issue

Check under the battery, should be a little thing that changed colors if it got wet. May have ruined the battery.
