Hi there
I have tried everything I can find here but no luck at all solving the sd card problem. I am pretty sure is some softward related, but no idea how to solved it... I see the problem is very common but as this is not a USB brick.. do you have any other idea? Thanks!
This is what i get when i do a "fasboot oem boot" :

What is the problem with sdcard? Thats not clear. If you are not able to access sdcard have you tried Bortaks thread no 13
Problem basically is that i cannot access to the Sdcard at all... And the problem is in the desire... The sd card works perfect in other android devices or PC.
I had it in a mildwild rom and seem to work well. I swap over cyanogenmod and I still could get access to the sd card. But something is wrong as some times I could get access other times i couldn't... i decided to get back to the stock rom and now I cannot get access at all... I have tried everything and no luck. But the sd slot looks like in perfect conditions.... not sure really what to do, as the phone now is useless....
Did you try these commands from the thread I quoted
fastboot oem enableqxdm 0
fastboot oem eraseconfig

I am now really surprised... i tried the above hundred of times and it did not work. Now, I just tried with the last line "fastboot oem eraseconfig" and i see the Sdcard!! Brilliant! I got usb brick after that but not bother at all, my sd slot is alive and that is a great start! Hopefully for good... let see...
If usb brick u should try 4ext recovery and has a usb unbrick option in recovery. Never tried it but a lot of people said it works perfect.

I am start thinking that the phone is having hardware issues...
After everything working perfect, I managed to root, add recovery and install a rom (ICS BETA 0.18.2.1 rom that worked flawlessly), then the sd card and wifi stopped working...
My happiness only lasted 2 hours... Do you know if the wifi antenna is near the sdcard slot? I think is a heating problem... but even when the phone was cold, both did not worked... i tried to wiped data but the same...
Any hope?

Hi,
I tried to install a apps tonight and my phone got hanged. I rebooted it to find that sdcard is not being recognised and I had low internal memory (<10mb).
I took out my sdcard and place on other phone (nokia), also on a laptop. It's working fine.
I also tried to place another sdcard in and my phone does not recognise it too.
I've tried to do a 'fastboot oem enableqxdm 0' command through adb (It stated 'Okay' after I key in the command) and wanted to flash the update.zip as what was stated here. But my phone just doesn't recognise sdcard.
It state E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0) (No such file or directory) error message.
So, what other methods are there?
This is my fastboot oem boot log.

Please help!
I suppose you can enter recovery menu.
Go first to FASTBOOT and do fastboot oem enableqxdm 0
and then go into recovery and use the mount usb option. Then i guess you should be able to copy the files onto your SD card.
I have tried the fastboot command. Going into recovery does not give me any mount option.
Thanks for the help though.
Which recovery do you have?
Clockworkmod recovery 2.5.0.7 has it located under Mounts & Storage and its the last option mount USB Storage
How do I access CWM recovery when I can't even use the update.zip to enter the CWM recovery? Can I flash to CWM recovery via ADB? The default recovery only has 4 option.
Reboot
apply sdcard update.zip
wipe factory
wipe cache
So you 're not rooted at all and you dont have custom recovery installed on your phone.
You should have mentioned that at the begging of your first post.
I'm rooted and am using ۵.ReflexTSenseHD v1.5 DHD ROM.
If I were to enter recovery, I would use ROM manager or I always had CWM recovery update.zip in my root sdcard so I could always use it through default recovery screen to CWD recovery.
So how should I proceed from here?
Ok, I have no idea what happened and how it happened.
You know the part where you go into (power + down vol), it will slightly load for awhile for xxxx.img rather fast before you can select the menus. I notice that this only loads if the phone detects your SDCARD. Had this problem in the past with Defrost ROM. In the past, if phone doesn't detect SDCARD, it wouldn't boot up at all, but using this current ۵.ReflexTSenseHD v1.5 DHD ROM. It will boot up despite not detecting SDCARD.
So I was trying quite a number of methods, and kept pulling in and out my SDCARD and just awhile ago when plugging into the plug and turning on, I notice the xxx.img was loading. I knew that the SDCARD was detected.
Quickly went into the recovery mode and flashed update.zip which was the USB bricked fix from modaco. Now, it seem like I am able to boot up and everything is back to normal.
My question is, why is it happening? Is it because of the hardware? That use to detect the SDCARD had some issue? So it could't detect my SDCARD? Or was it a purely USB brick? Because none of the method works as much as I would like it to be, and it seem that it sort of came back itself.
Glad to hear that you fixed it.I experienced once myself the USB brick and it was because of the combination AmonRA recovery+clockworkmod via romManager.
Guys,
I have read all the thread but all the described solutions are not working. My HTC Desire is stuck on htc logo, it came from a friend and i don't know what he has done on it. Its Hboot is 0.93 . Iam thinking this is an SLCD model , i don't have the box with me and my friend have also thrown away the box.
When even i start the phone, it vibrate 7 time and then only shows HTC Logo. I have put the phone is boot-loader mode using power+back button and flash an RUU exe but the phone again boots to the HTC logo and gets stuck ( no error on computer, successful flashing). Then i tried PB99IMG method using hboot, the process successfully complete but still same problem , not getting passed the HTC logo screen and vibrating 7 time. Let me describe more, the phone has HBOOT and FASTBOOT Accessible but RECOVERY goes back to the HTC logo and gets stuck. I dont know that it came with HBOOT 0.93 out of the box but currently it has HBOOT 0.93. The fastboot information is as follows.

i've same problem here..
it was succsessful to flash PB991IMG.zip (renamed from shipped-rom)
but the problem still there..
Please help..
Probably a faulty motherboard. Send it to htc for repair under warranty.

Could it be the SD card? If its been rooted it might be missing the ext3 partition which some Roms need to boot.
Just a guess. ;-)

flashing a RUU also does not fix this. stock rom does not need ext partition
it is not the fault.
Try a modded ROM and see if that boots.
I couldn't get a stock ROM to work either.

I had that problem too, try wipe all data, cache and dalvik cache and install different kernel.

Hi!
I'm french so I'm sorry for my poor english.
Since one week I've a HTC desire which doesn't boot any more.
It stays on the htc logo with white screen.
I tried to go to the recovery but always this white screen.
So I tried to reinstall the recovery by fastboot using fastboot flash recovery recovery.img .
always the same error even with several different recoveries

Using the exe RUU it's again s-off.... that's strange, isn't it?
up.
do I have tu erase the recovery with fastboot in order to re flash it?
i've already viewed the Bortak's guide but nothing worked
I never need to erase anything before flash recovery.
You probably not S-OFF, try to boot into bootloader first by turn it on while holding back key, what do you see on that screen ?
so i've tried many things and.... it boots!
i've downgraded the alpharev hboot
then install recovery via fastboot
install hboot cm7
flash radio
and flash cm7 rom and wipe
thx to all the support provided by this forum!
how do you do that?
Hi!
I have tried to upgrade S-ON, not rooted Desire to Stock 2.3. After that Phone constantly restarts at white HTC screen. I can get into fastboot, but can't downgrade to 2.2. I can only flash the same 2.3 rom from shipped roms and the end result is the same.

Have you whipped the dalvik cache? Boot into recovery, advanced and while dalvik cache, it should be ok after that
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda app-developers app
I think he has stock recovery. He wont have the options to wipe dalvik cache. He will only have option to wipe data and cache. If he wipes data he will lose all his apps.
I don't have recovery, as handy guessed and I really don't care about data in the phone, just want to return it to working condition. It was 2.2 stock, S-ON when I tried to upgrade it to 2.3. Now I have boot loop and don't know what to do. Did factory reset from fast boot, but it didn't help. Still boot loop.
Well you are in stock territory. Not too many options.
- wipe cache and data and retry boot.
- wild guess remove sdcard and boot
- run ruu as per instructions. That is run the exe from pc with phone in fast boot mode.
- last resort use the revolutionary.io path

Guys, thanks for your help, but it looks like hw fault. I have put the phione in the fridge (yes, I know, crazy but....) for about 20 min. After that phone booted and worked for a couple of mins and started rebooting. Again in the fridge and it works....
Looks like a MB fault.....
Thanks for your help, I know it's not my mistake now.

Is there any solution for the sd issue in the desire? I cannot access in anyway to it, but it worked yesterday... but now i cannot flash roms or anything as my phone does not detect any sd....
help please!

Search for USB brick. Or check the link on my sig for possible solution
I will try to do everything I can during this weekend...
I am thinking in using a contact cleaner spray as well... is it a good idea?

I am using a new SD and the same. The behaivour is really weird... For example... I leave the phone with the battery and sd card off for a day, plug it the sd and the battery, power on and sd is detected. It works for an hour or two and suddenly the Wifi and sd card stop working... Then i manage to make the wifi works but not the SD... really really weird... not sure if is software or hardware failure...
thanks anyway!
