I flashed the latest modem (LIF) so I could flash the LIF leaked rom. Can I still keep these modems and go back to LI3? Or do I have to revert the modem as well?

Thanks. I'm assuming modem's only affect signal and network connections and not mess w/the ROM that much if any.

Yeah the modem doesn't mess with the rom. You can have any rom/modem combo and be fine.

Just a general tip here. I was in the LG2 modem (the latest modem) and I was having sub par data speeds even in areas with
good signal strength. I tried PRL and profile updates to no avail. I tried last modem version before the current one which is LF9 and
even at work where I am in a steel and concrete "bunker" of a work place (lol), I am now getting good data speeds. and at home
where I was barely getting LTE, I get decent data speeds considering Only about 20% of the LTE towers are in place here in
the San Antonio area.
I tried the original "LEN" version modem, no improvement. Modem downloads and discussion can be seen on this thread:

Modem once flash is "permanent" unless you flashed a different modem. Flahing ROM, restoring ROM ect. does not affect the modem.

I just flashed to this rom from stock rooted 4.2.2 last night and I am having the data loss on wake issue described here, I am on the MDL baseband and have twice done the procedure as outlined to supposed success but upon checking I'm still on MDL?
Still having Issues with Mobile Signal
I have flashed the MK2 modem successfully but ever since doing so my mobile signal is TERRIBLE! I live in a major city and have never had issues with signal until now. I just went back in and confirmed the MK2 modem did install as it says: "M919UVUEMK2" under base band version. Any ideas on what I could try to fix this?
Thanks,
Drew
Worked third try, everything seems good so far now.
Tried searching the forum and couldnt find anything on this topic.
On my T-Mobile S3, I get this issue when I try to call somebody, it just comes back with "Call Ended" and I can't call anybody. This problems just comes back up few times in a day and at times I am perfectly fine for a couple of days.
The only way to resolve this is by rebooting the phone or my going into the Airplane mode and coming back to normal.
Currently running the Stockmod rom by DocHoliday77 with UVUEMJC Modem.
I am tried reinstalling the rom again by doing a complete factory reset, wipe cache, dalvik etc, but the problem is still there.
Googled it and seems like the same problem is happening with AT&T and other carriers.
Not sure if any of you guys are noticing the same issue and if you have any fix for it.
Please advise.
I get the same thing on my T-Mobile Galaxy S3, (Non-LTE) running stock unrooted OTA 4.3. Baseband version T999UVUEMJC.
Its a known problem with 4.3 on s3 sadly.. The only thing I can advise is to try going back to 4.1.2 or 4.1.1 by flashing a custom ROM and see if that helps while a fix is pushed by the carriers
Edit: although you will trip the warranty counter if you updated to official 4.3 or 4.3 ota update

OP, If you have just flashed Doc's Rom without actually updating the bootloader, then try another modem. If you have updated bootloader, then you are out of luck. In the latter case, you may try the UVUEMJ4 modem Doc posted.

Have you applied the Stock OTA Update ? If not, then try one of the other modems from Doc's other thread. If you had updated to Stock 4.3 then you will have to take up with T-Mo.

You need either MJC or MJ4 modem to have service in 4.3.. You can try changing modems but I doubt it'll work.. This is a bug in 4.3 for s3, T-Mobile needs to fix it

Seems like my best bet is to downgrade to 4.1.2, do u agree ?
Downgrade the Modem not the Rom. Only downgrade the Rom if you still have signal issues after modem downgrade.

just update PRL and profile......and if your phone is the Boost/Virgin S3 and your on stock 4.4.2 then you flash NDC but if your phone is the Sprint version on Stock then you flash the ND8 version but if you have ND8 stock and want the NDC modem or the opposite you first need to flash Ktoonsez custom TW kernel for ND8/NDC that way everything will work
Hey guys. I recently got an old Samsung Epic 4G Touch due to my HTC Evo 4G LTE breaking from water damage. I've been able to root the Galaxy and flash a version of jellybean (beanstalk). However, when I try to flash any other ROMs than this, the data doesn't work. I've tried flashing the correct modems (I think) to no avail. Any suggestions?
Can you post a screen shot of your about phone page that shows the modem. What carrier are you on?

You probably need to update your Profile and PRL. Flash back to a Touchwiz ROM to get it done... I would flash an ICS version to not worry about changing the modem.

I don't have info on FB27. If you are on Sprint it should be GB27. That is the modem. You should slow down before you brick the phone. You should have some one-click files on your PC to take your phone back to stock if need be. Also you should have a touchwiz modem as well as an ICS modem on the phone. I would suggest FL24 and GB27. A copy of EL29 direct boot. A copy of AGATs recovery. A copy of Philz touch recovery. A copy of Mobile Odin Lite. To update to the current PRL you can do as @Surj138 says just so you don't have to flash modems. I think you are on the wrong modem anyway. Flash a modem in recovery. Don't do it through Mobile Odin.

Just remember that if you want to flash a non-touchwiz JB or KK ROM, you have to be on a ICS modem (bigmike suggested FL24). If you are on touchwiz JB (stock, or one of the touchwiz custom ROMs for this phone), you can flash a JB modem (such as GB27).
I think you have to be on touchwiz to change the phone number. You have to be on touchwiz to update profile and PRL. But you can be on an ICS modem in touchwiz to do that.
If you want 4g on this phone, you have to be on touchwiz -- or at least you did, until last Monday (Nov. 3), when dastin released a version of CM11 for this phone that works with 4g. That's what I am running on my phone and it works for me.
