[Q] Question regarding call distortion - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Hey everyone,
I'm looking for some advice. My S3 is almost 2 weeks old now and after making some calls I realize that there's a buzzing noise from the speaker when I'm in a call and it gets a little noisy. Even when I call google voice and it asks for my password I hear it. It's a distorted buzz. It happens when the volume is above halfway. To me this is unacceptable. I'm wondering if I should take my phone back to best buy and exchange it or if this is common. I couldn't find anyone with call issues so I'm thinking it's hardware related. I should mention I have tried toggling the equalizer with no luck. Im also on triune II leaked stock. Thanks guys

Sounds like a bad speaker to me. I'd try to exchange it.

Root should give us these options, it did with the HD2 at least. Until then I'm not sure.

[Q] How is your volume during calls?
Mine seems to be very low through the earpiece and even worse with the provided headset. Is it my phone or just the way it is?

Same with mine. I had HAC mode enabled on my Vibrant which helped the same issue. Enabling it (different name) on the S ii doesn't really have any effect for me.

Voice echo on AT&T

I have a voice echo of my own voice while using my AT&T S3. anyone have this problem? Is it a network or physical phone problem?
Thank you all
AJ
I have had that with Verizon and at&t on multiple phones. For whatever reason it seems to happen more when I am talking to someone that is using a bluetooth headset. The only phone I can't remember doing that periodically was my DROID 1. Idk?

Might be the other end. I have the same problem when I talk to my boy who has a skyrocket. Everyone that calls him gets the echo, regardless of carrier or handset, even happens with landlines.

Yep, same thing on my SR. Friends and family could hear themselves in an echo.
Doesn't happened on my S3, so I'm pretty happy.

I'm bone stock and have noticed the same thing the last few days. I don't make a ton of calls and I really only call my wife, so I don't know when it started, but I was blaming her iPhone.
Maybe its just Sprint.
Let's do something.
1. Download Stock ROM
2. Download Triangle Away
3. Run Triangle Away and reset counter.
4. Flash stock ROM.
5. Go to the store and yell as hard as you can "I WANT A NEW PHONE, THIS POS IS NOT WORKING".
6. Check for warranty.(Optional)

I bought it off of Craigslist though. Will it still work?

[Q] Popping sound?

Has anyone else noticed their Note 2 making a slight pop sound every now and then?
I noticed it when the keyboard tap sounds are on, it sounds as if the speaker hisses then pops.

Many devices have this. Nobody has been able to figure it out, so we just chalk it up to normal - but still annoying.

Help trying to find out the issue with my phone?

Ive keep being told that everyone hears an echo while I on my side don't hear an echo. Idk if its my phone or what. I tried different roms, and can confirm its not the rom. I also have an otterbox case on my phone. Any ideas before I go back to stock and warranty exchange it?

Have you tried calls without the case on? I had the same issue years ago with an iphone 3g with an otterbox case on...took the case off...no echo

How do you do that
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
two things cause this...
First wifi calling to another voip number..
you can limit this by Turning volume down. and while in call tap menu button and turn off the noise reduction. Had this issue two days ago.. I was going Insane..
I also have otter box defender case. Case has nothing to do with it.. Your Mic is picking up your speaker and transmitting it back to the speaker..

Open the dialer, hit menu, call settings then select additional settings then uncheck nose reduction.

Actually its not a echo on my end. More of the caller constantly hear themselves echo. I think its the phone itself, and I have to return to stock to exchange the phone. Its a shame, because I had my phone set up nicely sigh. Just thinking about selling my note 2 smh. Freaking lemon I got.

It's a kind if common problem in Samsung phones. The mic picks up them and send it back over. It's usually fixed my turning off noise reduction, did you try that?
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
I actually did and the caller on its end still heard echos.

That's happened to me before but it's completely random for me. Most times, they have me on speakerphone so they hear an echo. Most likely not your phone. There are a lot of factors that play in, including different wave interferences and stuff.
But since you mention that everyone hears an echo.. I am probably wrong.

Yeah, I thought it was my phone not connecting correctly. But it was my phone being defective. I just received the new phone, and no problems so far.

I asked because I had to cut out the flaps that cover the charging and earphone ports in order to get rid of the echo.

Hhhmm. Well I'm still testing out the new phone today. But so far no need to mutilate my case. I hope....
