Your right about this being based off the otter build but the link I posted is build 28 and if out notice was updated recently
Well, it's not an update. I figured it was a long shot but worth a try. I wonder why they would post it if it didn't work...someone had to have tested it.

Hey I left a tweet on the official AOKP twitter and they stated it is a working build for the kindle fire (which it seems nobody knew about) and its a known issue that it is not booting and they are working on it!
https://twitter.com/#!/AOKP_ROM
lets hope they get it working. if anyone reads or keeps up with this team their ROMS are top quality and are sweet as hell.
Any news or update on the status of this rom?

Anyway to prevent apps from checking my play license (which cant be done on stock)

So.... i used to be running ICS, I decided to unroot and go back to stock because I still had some of my prime subscription left. I tried to sideload minecraft (which I paid for) and it said that it failed to check my license which..... I cant do... Is there anyway to get around this?

Well I think the best thing is to root again. SERIOUSLY I DON'T BELIEVE there is anyway one could do that without root
ALL THE BEST
I think rooting the stock ROM and using Lucky Patcher to remove license check would be your best bet.

Android 4.2

Any idea if we're going to get this at all on the kindle fire? Or if its even possible on our hardware?

I'm 99% positive we will be getting a rom for it, but the source code hasn't been released yet I would expect the code to be released by mid November. So about then is when you can be expecting a rom for 4.2
Hi. Its the first time I'm writing on xda. I love this site.
But...
How will I know when its (4.2 for kindle fire) released?
Thanx for your great work! :good:

Edit: Wow... Its been some time since this post. (4/8/13) But why am I a senior member? LOL.

(Q) can our kindle handle 4.2?

Title says it all but even on that note anyone got plans on trying to port it?

But we will have to change up some of it so that it is compactible with the kf's hardware. Remember, the kindle doesn't have all the features the Nexus 7 does. But hashcode is the best ROM develepor out there, so we have to wait and see what he has in stock for us.
I'm looking forward to the swipy keyboard
If well I have faith in him and excited to see what comes of it

Does anyone know if Tablet mode is achievable in 4.2?

Yes. Depending on your ROM it should be a choice to switch to tablet mode.
I am running the latest jellybean ROM from twa-priv, and I hate the phone navigation, so I headed over to settings and homescreen and chose something from there to switch. There are a couple other places to fix phone UI things too, I think.
I can't wait until someone releases 4.2

Twa can release 4.2 but we are waiting for hashcode to finish with the graphics driver on the kernal
Can't either wait. Please msg me when its out. I don't check often enough. Thanx.
Hopefully this will come out soon!

It feels much more smooth than 4.1 actually, maybe it's just my imagination. If only the digitizer wasn't having issues .

Seems significantly smoother from CM9. I wasn't on 4.1 though, so if there was a noticeable difference there I wouldn't be the best judge.
The volume shortcut has gone in 4.2.1 CM10.1 SGT7
I installed CM10.1 4.2.1 SGT7 ROM. Its almost perfect but the volume slider shortcut was gone. The tablet UI is also gone but it is Goggle policy for 4.2. It is best if the volume slider comeback in the next ROM

ICS ROM for kindle fire 2nd gen

Hi, I need a good ICS ROM for my fire. Cm10 won't install. It just keeps saying error flashing zip.
I really want an ICS, not a jellybean ROM. Thanks.

Actually, my bad. I kept trying to do a first gen rom. Thanks anyways.

Can you please mark this as solved then? Hopefully a mod will move this thread to the discussion/questions forum so people don't come to this thread looking for KF2 ICS roms

When you can not turn on your device. It is do nothing just a black screen. This happens eg when you messed up the bootloader. But for our device it is easy to brick it since amazon and Ti have many secruity features implementet.

Well, amazon sucks at everything so of course they put a "locked" boot loader. Yet many people have blown past it

Sheesh I hate this kindle fire 2 I wish I had a gen 1 I'm selling it cause there's nothing available for it... No root or roms Or hell I'll donate it to the dev if he wants to use it to make a rom or a bootloader / recovery combo for it? if you brick it I don't care it's useless to me as is the UI is such a bummer anyways!

Wtf are you talking about? We have root and roms.
-》Sent from my mind to your screen.
Don't see it seems like just root atm, no custom roms at all.... You know I'm talkin about the Gen 2 right?
Kf2 is not the same as gen2 *facepalm*
Really need a device forum for 2nd gen, I mean it could even go in the HD device section, would be very useful. Kf2 came after the original kf.
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire HD using Tapatalk
And for the kf2/otter2 are custom Roms (cm11), root and twrp recovery avalible...
