[Q] Does anyone have a ROM that supports external USB Drive? - Kindle Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I need a ROM that will allow me to use my 16GB Thumb drive and/or my external hard drive. Mouse, Keyboard, and 512MB Thumb Drive all work over my powered USB hub.
I've tried the following ROMs
CM10 STOCK + 4AI.1.7 KERNEL [BETA]
Hashcode's 3.0 ICS
Linaro Jellybean ROM (the latest)

[how??] Internal storage use, w/o sdcard

Hi dears,,,
Regarding to emmc, why bluetooth or camera not using internal storage and they work just if there's an sdcard?
I want to make use of internal storage?
using JB rom in my inc
Hope to find a proper solution to this
Thanks

Stock jb camera should support internal storage. You need to switch it in settings.
I don't know the answer your Bluetooth issue. What do you mean like a file transfer over bluetooth?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
I'm using your rom 20130118 and infection rom, the camera app says to insert sdcard to use (in both roms)
I tried camera ics with "storage source" =internal, but to no avail
Regarding to bluetooth when using it w/o sdcard a file not received and there's no bluetooth folder in emmc or sdcard1 (i created one but not working though)

My cm10 or cm10.1 rom? I just took a picture with the built in camera using internal storage with the external storage removed. As for bluetooth I couldn't send from my gnex to Inc over bluetooth even to the sdcard.

Hmm it's cm10, so it's a bug if built in camera or other one couldn't take a photo w/ sdcard out?
Do you advice me to try cm10.1 over cm10?

Just checked on this. It wasn't ever a bug. The feature was missing from CM/AOSP and was literally added recently within the last few days which is why storage location is switchable on my CM ROM.

[Q] Host otg after update 4.3

Hi xda'rs, could someone tell me if there is a way to run the host otg after the stock 4.3 update?
I have to try apps, custom kernel or linux script?
Thanks
Just update the phone to 4.3 if USB Host not working then get back to 4.2 or 4.1
I could try it BUT i don't have an OTG Cable.

I'm using Mikes ARHD v22, which is based on stock rom and otg is working fine.

You need to put the phone intp download and get odin and flash a stock or whatever tw kernel to get it back working

Or if you have a custom recovery, you can flash a new one from there, just download a new rom on to the flash card..
Ps. Why not move on to 4.4.x Kit Kat ?

First thing is that you should have posted this here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-2-att/help
Most likely it'll be moved to the q&a section, since this is the development...
More than likely this is the answer, somehow your Qualcomm Modem settings got changed.
If you are using Android 4.3 open the dial pad and dial *#0808#
Android 4.2 *#7284#
then under Qualcomm USB or USB settings it should be on MTP or MTP+ADB, it was probably on RMNET + DM + MODEM. Make the change and choose OK.
All should be fine now.

just wanted to chime in on that ^ -- it does not work on stock 4.4.2 (rogers) firmware - at least, not on my device; and it's vanilla, aside from the agni update to enable SD card write support, su, and twrp ^_^
*#0808# does work

Should work on stock or modded stock builds on 4.3-4.2-4.1 roms...but gimped on all 4.4 stuff to an extent...
We...or rather I...don't have a list of the working dialer codes versus gimped carrier codes...but that would be a great list to have for the 4.4 roms and our user base...
I am resisting being absolutely pissed off with the carriers and the robbery of our right to use even the most basic functions of "our" devices...
Thank you for the update on the dialer codes...g

Easy fix. Go into developer settings and turn on USB debugging. Some ROMs won't recognize the PC unless it is turned on.

What's the fastest Kindle Fire Lollipop Rom?

Hi, am new to the site so i don't know a lot if i say anything stupid bear with me. I recently just rooted my Kindle Fire, and I am having a hard time picking a good Lollipop Rom. So that's why I'm asking you guys. Which one is the best?
First, I think think you'll have to convert to OtterX partitions in order to flash a LP ROM (Plenty of help for this in the Development section - see posts by Hashcode and @sd_shadow. Development on LP ROMs has slowed/stopped (maybe in anticipation of Marshmallow). However, look at @lovejoy777's SlimPop or Hashcode's original post as a place to start.

don't worry i already did that
Also, don't be afraid to try KK ROMs - in my experience they can be more responsive/more reliable than LP ROMs - try @pfederighi's ROM which is included near the end of Hashcode's CM 11 thread.

for pfederighi's ROM what kind of GAPPS should I use
I've been using the Micro version of Open GApps ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=60477540). The Nano and Pico versions might show even better performance. I see that @sd_shadow is recommending using the smallest GApps available.
