Best FLV player that keeps audio and video in sync? - Nexus 7 Themes and Apps

I've been using DicePlayer for most of my video playing but I've noticed that audio and video seem to go out of sync for FLV files when I skip forward or backward during playback, and the more I skip around, the worse it gets. Does anyone have any suggestions for FLV players that are good about maintaining sync? Thanks.

Did you try vlc?

I haven't. Is the version that I want the android-v7-neon one?

Try bsplayer they make a version specific for that

Yeah, for a nexus 7 you want the NEON version.

Try Vplayer or MX player...

i just watched an AVI movie today using bsplayer lite, it free from market.
The other two players i have installed is Dice and Mobo. I kind of switched based on format.
So far I only watched avi and mkv. Using qqplayer as my primary movie player.

not sure, they all seems to be better for different formats. I have not found a favorite
I know this will sound like a crazy question but, is there any way to convert a movie directly on the phone?
MX Video Player
I use MX Video Player and it plays everything. Drop and drag movies, and play. Simple as that.
It also recognizes .SRT files too!
I also use Mx player. It is awesome. You can swipe to change subtitle time.

+1 MX Player. Love it.

MX players seems to be the consensus. Trying it meow
yeah mx movie player is the best I've used so far. No need to convert and I haven't found a format it doesn't play.

diceplayer ftw if you want to watch HD content.
don't know if mx player's been updated since but it would stutter when playing HD videos, prompting me to switch to diceplayer. full hw acceleration and smooth playback of 1080p mkv's.

+1 to DICE Player. Bought it when it was able to buy but the trial version is now a full-completed ad version. Couldn't be happier.
I prefer MP4 because the phone has a hardware decoder. Which probably saves some power.

Best MKV Player?

I have already tried MX Player, Moboplayer, and Diceplayer, and all of them seem to lag while playing 720p mkv files. Are there any video players that can play without lag causing the audio and video to go out of sync?
Try mx again and turn audio to software decoding (not hardware). Fixed my sync issues.

I haven't tried it yet, but VLC player may be another option to look into.
If you are in North America, get VLC from here:
http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/armv7-android-neon/
Ita still beta but works pretty well from what I've seen.

Thanks for the link. I had sideloaded an outdated VLC Beta a while back since it's the only player that (for me) plays 1080p h/w accelerated with DTS audio outofthebox -- (DicePlayer does too, with a /sdcard/libffmpeg.so plugin) -- and hadn't updated in a while.
you might want to give mVideoPlayer a go as well!

i used mxplayer but switched to diceplayer as it lets you play in pop-out video while checking e-mail etc
BSplayer can play video in "external mode", so everywhere, while you are surfing, reading email etc... and you can resize, pause or clse the video.
MXplayer doesnt provide this feature.

BSPlayer, by far.
Mkv at 1080p with audio DTS, flawlessly.
I bought bs player pro, but had problems with it in 4.2, dice player is what I'm using now for smb streaming

DicePlayer is my favourite. Smooth and you can activate Plugins if you need to.
I use vplayer

I use mxplayer and have no complaints. Love it.

I use BS Player because it read everything well and has a LAN Mode. But the UI is horrible.
My combo: BSplayer (soft decode) for WMV + DICE Player for everything else

MX Player hasn't failed me yet. Smooth playback using the software renderer rather than the hardware rendering for some reason though. Anyways, it works very well.

This would be my suggestion as well.
There's also Rockplayer, it's been awhile since I've used it but it did the job well. Has the most used video and audio codecs embeded.
Also, the stock video player will play the mkv files as long as it has the supported audio codec, can't recall the exact one...

Video player

Hi guys.
Can you please tell me if your stock video player can read bluray hd movies and ac3 codec audio ?
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
bs and mx player work for me. you'll need to dl a custom codec for mx player though. archos works with the free codec, but its performance has been crappy after the last few updates so i've quit using it. it's got the best UI though.

i dont know what you mean by bluray hd movies but, stock player does not support AC3 codec...
mx player works very well and it does not require other codecs to download... dice player is very good too...
Had same issue with MOBO player when I wanted to play a Bluray copy, so I downloaded Dice and BSPlayer - MOBO player decided it would play the file but not audio (Need codec), Dice didn't want to play the file at all while BSPlayer was the only one that decided to work flawlessly.
So i recommend BSPlayer but all three (If you can be bothered to mess about with codecs) are very good video players.
sadly, if you grab a 2012 gn 10.1 you'll have ac3 in the stock player. they chose not to license it int this version.
