Since I upgraded my KF to JB ROM, I saw that I have problems with the Pulse app.
If I read more than 25-35min the newsfeeds, the device becomes unresponsive, and all I can do is a hard reset to make it back to life.
What is strange is that I have radio playing in the bg, just for test, and it keeps singing, while in freeze state, though with short interruptions.
I suppose it is the RAM overloading problem, but anyway this is annoying.
So, is there any way to solve this so that I can keep reading the Pulse? Maybe there is someone that could give an advice about how to overcome this obstacle?
(I use to have 2 pages with 150+ news titles on every one of it)
[SOLVED]--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, after all the views of this thread, and no answer, this is the idea I came up with:
- installed RAM manager Pro
- in settings, chose "Balance" mode
- in settings, chose "VM Heap size" to "64m"
Now it still makes some sluggishness, but it is rare, short and at never froze my KF since.
Thanks!

Hi everyone, after hours of fiddling around with my phone and trying to figure this thing out by reading through many many forums, nothing seems to help. So out of pure frustration I decided to start a new thread (Which was my last resort)
My phone has a whole slew of problems:
First of all, I basically have no home screen. It's just a black screen accompanied by the two 'Contacts' and 'Calender" buttons on the bottom. After reading through the forums I figured it most-likely was a TouchFlo 3D issue that needs to be addressed by restarting/starting up the TL3D program. Great right? No... The damn thing won't even load when I push the Settings icon.
long story short:
-manilla.exe cpu usage is 80%-95%
-phone won't completely lock, backlight turns on with the slightest movements/bumps
-active sync wont detect phone (can't access connection settings in phone)
-phone will occasionally freeze and won't turn on unless I remove battery and restart it.
-hard reset wont work (using keystroke method, also last resort)
-lag lag lag lag lag lag ....L...A....AGGG..G
-Very low volume when engaged in a phone call (transmitting and receiving volume)
Keep in mind I can't get into settings.
Also, no new programs installed recently in case you guys were wondering.
Those are the only issues that come to mind... help??!!??!! Thank you in advance
try reflashing your rom fresh and then getting a new launcher and overclocking your min and max cpu a bit might help out
Hello,
I got an problem on like 4 of the 5 kaisers here.
The problem is that sometimes the kaisers goes into an sleep where it doenst come out without reset.
You will get an black screen and the light of your keyboard is on and doesnt turn off. When this happens the battery goes from 100% to 0% in like 40 mins. without the problem i can use the phone for 2 days.
My question is how to solve this? I tried the following things.
- Radio 1.65, 1.70. 1.71
- 2 different hspl
- old and new kernel.
- and loads of different roms. from gingerbread to eclair.
Any solution or fix for this? because i can't use it for daily base now since when i dont notice the battery is empty of that bug.
Best Regards,
Veldmuus
That's the black screen of death. I never get that, but it's one of three problems that I have heard of. I think it might be related to going to sleep. I use the latest kernel, from git, which is pretty much identical to scooter1556's kernel with separate cache. What kernel are you using?
The second problem is the white screen of death, which I get a lot when I leave the phone on the charger. The screen is white bright, the kernel is not crashed. Sometimes Fn-Right-soft-key twice will cure this, but usually not. Some have guessed that this has something to do with the phone going to sleep not quite properly while charging. There is an option to not go to sleep while connected to a charger, and I haven't tried that option for a long time.
The third problem is a kernel crash (screen freezes, keyboard doesn't turn on LED, etc) caused by compcache (zram). Can be avoided by not using compcache.
The most annoying issue I have is that I've never figured out how to tweak the build so that apps can be installed to SD. I've been trying to change initrd so that, when installed completely on NAND, the sdcard is completely managed by vold. So far no success, and I've pretty much moved on to my newer phone (Rhodium, aka AT&T Tilt2).
I have spent the last week or so "tweaking" my build.prop file, adding lines for disabling sleep mode, 3G speed tweaks (doesn't do much yet) and fixing small compatibility issues such as AGPS/GPS not working. So far so good, no more sleep of death/black screen/white screen.
If successful, I would ask that the modified build.prop file be added to the Froyo builds on SourceForge, intergrated directly as to eliminate "end user interaction", meaning you won't have to touch it.
I am also looking into some sysinit.rc mods as well, but I haven't had much time lately.
Veldmuus, do you have a way to edit your own build.prop file such as Root Explorer, or would you have to push it to the phone via ADB?
I am using a HTC One M8 (ATT model, Best Buy edition)
There are no threads about this issue that I haven't checked: my phone seems to be acting not only sluggish, but some other weird things seem to be happening.
- Google Play Store seems to be taking forever to start to download, downloads fine, takes forever to start to install, and about 20 minutes later (if the app hasnt been killed off by then since I have only 1 app in the background, to see if that fixed my lag issues before switching to just 1 app in background) it finally installs.
- Quickpic doesnt seem to want to load anything at all (I use it as my main app to view pictures since HTC Gallery cant view animations in a loop). It just sits there at a black screen with a loading circle at the top, no thumbnails or folders show up. I have cleared the phone's cache with
- Rebooting does nothing to solve my issues.
- Restoring to factory default does nothing to solve my issues.
- Restricting background processes to 1 does nothing to solve my issues.
- Disabling Power Saving mode entirely does nothing to solve my issues.
- Disabling apps that I don't use does nothing to solve my issues.
Anyone know what my issue is and how I could fix it? This would be extremely helpful, thanks.
FYI, I am not rooted, I will save this as a last resort if need be.
**Edit** using App Cache Cleaner app, apparently my phone storage is at 23.6 GB/ 24.8 GB. Will try seeing if cleaning up some stuff manually fixes this.

Wow I derped pretty hard, the issue was fixed when I checked the box with "Erase all data" under Reset Phone. Didn't check that when I reset it the first time. Guess I had too much media on it...?

Glad you sorted it out. Too much media should not be an issue, but a complete wipe will usually fix things.
Hey all,
So I'm posting this thread regarding a couple pretty weird glitches and bugs occurring on my G3, 3 specific ones.
The first: (Probably the least serious but still REALLY annoying) At EXACTLY 12:00AM every night no matter what timezone I set the phone to (I'm in AU on the AEST GMT+10 timezone but it does this at the same time on any timezone) the phone will switch it's WiFi off automatically without warning, reason or explanation. It just goes off and then I have to manually turn it back on. Sure I could use an app such as Tasker or AutomateIt to turn it back on but I don't see why this is occurring in the first place?
The second issue (Most recent): Lately after updating to the V20E firmware for my D855 I've noticed that a graphical glitch (Specifically related to the colour Blue) occurs when there are fast moving elements on my phone's screen (Such as when I move a chat head around on my phone from Messenger, or when I'm scrolling Facebook or my App Drawer fast, there's just a blue box around whatever object/s appear to be moving on my phone's screen. I've not dropped the phone at all, and it has only been present since updating from the V20D ROM. Not sure what could be causing it.
The third and by far the MOST ANNOYING of the issues I'm having, is that for no apparent reason, whenever I am listening to Music with the stock Music player, and I lock the screen (The screen goes off) about 5 seconds later weird stuff starts to happen..
The song will pause, play or even stop completely, seemingly on its own. The "phone" will change songs, artists and sometimes complete albums and playlists completely by itself, with me doing nothing but staring at the lock screen (It keeps doing it until I re-enter the Music app, then when I lock the phone the whole cycle just repeats itself.)
I've done some looking around and careful observations on the phone itself, and it seems that before the weird stuff starts happening to my music, the phone opens Voice Mate by itself, and then if I'm not present, it apparently closes it and then that's when the stuff happens. I've tried everything I can on a non-rooted phone to stop this. I've tried re-installing the Music app, Uninstalling all updates to the Voice Mate and it's packages to the factory version, force-stopping Voice Mate, everything and no matter what I do the phone still opens Voice Mate and the weird stuff starts happening (It's like it's taking commands from Voice Mate to do something but I'm not even doing anything ) It's been doing this since I got my phone when it came with Android KitKat 4.4 (I was on the D10M ROM until I moved to the D20D Android L ROM) and I moved ROMs doing a completely fresh start ( I factory wiped the phone and then upgraded via a CSE flash and put all my stuff back on it manually) and I would've thought a completely fresh start would have fixed it but apparently not... Either it's a bug that's been present for a while, or it's something deeper than the ROM.
So yeah some pretty weird issues, if someone knows what could be causing them, please let me know, especially if you know a way to solve them.
Cheers guys.
I'm having a very similar problem with regards to #1 but it's doing it with Bluetooth for me!
At midnight on the dot, it will disconnect my connected Bluetooth devices. It doesn't shut Bluetooth off, it just drops the connection. I posted about it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/help/bluetooth-disconnects-midnight-t2973187
Your phone sound possessed! Call 1-800-Exorcism now.
You right, weird/unusual.
Hey.
I wanted to ask users of this phone, does they have the same issues i found, and if they found some more issues - write about these here.
Signal strengh
So first issue is signal strengh. it was first thing i noticed after update from Pie to 10. I get one bar less on every network (2G/3G/4G) - is this normal - does anyone experienced it?
Settings suggestions pinned
Settings suggestions are wel known issue of Android 10, even in pixel's. There is one way to disable it ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a3/how-to/guide-remove-customize-mi-a3-suggestion-t4092703 ) but sometime after some of them will re-appear.
No AMOLED theme
Am i the only one, whos having that blue-ish dark theme? Is there any mention of standard AMOLED (pure black) theme? Any rootles way?
Notifications on lockscreen dont appear
THATS MOST FRUSTRATING ISSUE i found. When phone is fresh, notifications appear for ~week, then they simply dont. I tried many things like wipe, turning them off, then on, and it helps for one day or 2. Is there any fix? Does it have something to do with battery saving? I'm not using Allways On Display BTW. Sometimes, some of them appear, sometimes not, thats totaly random.
Some apps gets memory leak
With writing "some apps" i mean one, but its local Polish Bank app, after closing the app, throwing it out of recent apps i constantly getting error, that app (in this example) "enveloBank dont responding" and i have 3 options - information about app, close app, send opinion (which i done). I want to ask, if someone have similar problem with any other app. Issue was not present in Android 9.
Finally, where can i report issues? I know its very stupid question, most of you are propably will say on Mi forum, well i guess thats not proper answer. I was very unpleasingly throwed from Google forums to Mi forums, then from Mi forums to Google forums (i was asking about Android 10 release date).
No need for another thread.
