[Q] reinstall stock os

Can someone please help me to reinstall stock OS on my HOX.
How to go about it and what are the steps to be followed. Where do I download the stock Android with HTC sense.
I am new to htc any help will be greatly appreciated.
You need to do the following:
-Flash stock recovery image
-Relock bootloader
-Flash correct RUU for your version of HOX
Why are you wanting to go back to stock?
Can you please explain me the whole process and will it void my warranty?
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
Have you unlocked the bootloader? If not your warranty will be okay.
Till now have not done it..plz explain me the full process in detail..where can I download the stock rom?
Actually m facing some problems and HTC service center wants me to submit my phone for 2 days so that they can reinstall os. Please help

Ah okay since you haven't unlocked your phone or put a custom ROM on it you just need to do a factory reset to get it back to stock.

HTC would never have said that re-installing the OS is the solution to anything. The most they would have said would be to do a factory reset.
Please explain exactly what you have done to your phone so far. You need to be more specific otherwise we can't help - we are not mind readers here.
They said so actually I cannot play any videos on my phone not even videos recorded by its own camera..sometimes mp3 files too struggle to play. Factory reset has not helped hence they said they have to reinstall the OS.

Hi,
Why did you go to recovery? Have you unlocked and rooted your device or not?
(In case, what is displayed on your HBOOT menu..?)
If you want to root your phone just refer here :
It's an easy & long process, if you understand well...
http://androidforums.com/wildfire-s...ow-root-wildfire-s-s-finally.html#post3785547
After rooted, you can install ClockworkMod Recovery, thereafter only you can go to recovery option and can take backup or flash anything...
without these it's hard to answer.....
Hope this might be useful (If really press 'Thanks").
I tried that one also but the result was that when i go to recovery mode the screen goes Black and my keys are lightning i left it for couple of minute but still no response and again i have to remove the battery and the turn my phone on again

Okay, so now you need install CWM here a litle guide http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZL62BUZjmgw
then find superurser.zip in xda and install it with Cwm here how to do it : install zip from sd card -> choose zip from sd card -> choose you superuser.zip
If u have the black screen recovery problem then don't try these recoveries as it is a waste of time. I too have the same problem. Our phones have some change in hardware which is why we can't view the recovery screen. Let's hope the problem gets fixed soon.

I'm really not sure what was changed yet or why given the dangers of platform fragmentation but, it has most certainly lead to some issues. Presently I'm not even sure how to differentiate these devices as they report back with all the same identifying information that the original A510e does. There is a discussion here where some other users with the device and I are trying to gather enough information and interest to diagnose the problem and correct it.
thanks but keep it up

It would appear the problem isn't that unique as multiple users are facing the same issue. Platform fragmentation is hardly a new issue (the dream/sapphire platform is absolute hell) I just didn't expect it to be completely silent. I first heard about it from users asking if my port of TWRP worked with these devices. As I'd like to be able to offer a complete port for every HTC Wildfire S and I'd like to see the issue resolved. I'm sure many of the ROM developers working on incompatible CM7/CM9 and AOKP builds would like to offer software for your devices as well so hopefully there will be enough support to get this resolved. The trick right now is finding the root of the issue so that it can be mended.

I have a one x but the software is still ics 4.0.3 with no updates available .. I'm waiting for jellybean but I haven't even got 4.0.4 yet!.. What's the main version number of your phone currently?
To find this out do fastboot command: "fastboot getvar version-main"
Once you have the correct version number, download the correct latest version RUU from here
I had a similar problem with my One X when I first got it. It turns out my phone ahd a very early version of software on it that did not even support OTAs. Maybe yours is the same.
I'm at work right now.... But when I get home I need to find out how to use fastboot via adb?.... I can do basic rooting and installing roms but I'm lost when it comes to anything outside my comfort zone.
Do you revomend updating anyway via the ruu website anyway ? Or just wait till I can give you the right version number...

for reference my hboot is 0.95.0000 and radio 2.1204.135.20
i hope this helps
Do i download the same rom from that website and install it even if the radio is different?
someone?
yep. It'll just flash whatever radio is in the RUU package over the top.
just done it ... all went well ... I was hoping that when i checked for update it would give me 4.0.4 but nothing ... ... does that mean i go straight to JB from 4.0.3? ...or do i just flash 4.0.4 .... or do i wait ... i don't know ... im getting frustrated..
I have the same problem with same CID and version-main. Still stuck on 4.0.3

I have 2 mates at work who have optus One X's , Both have the 4.0.4 update . I was running around all day comparing boot menus, software and Build batches .Out of the five of us with the One x I'm the only one on 4.0.3.I might just wait for JB for our cid and install the RUU.
They might have the official Optus cid which is different which would explain why they have it

[Q] Could somebody help me?

I have rooted and bootloader unlocked my One X with no problems using the toolkit One_X_ATT_All-In-One_Kit_v2.0
After rooting it and unlocking the bootloader I used the phone for a couple weeks periodically checking to make sure they stayed unlocked. I have had no problems
I want to install a custom rom so tonight I followed the instructions to the "T" here: http://theunlockr.com/2012/04/28/how-to-install-clockworkmod-touch-recovery-on-htc-one-x/ and I installed Clockwork Mod touch.
It installed fine according to the command prompt replies. Following the instructions I then typed: fastboot reboot in the command line. The phone shut off and never rebooted.
It now will not boot and I have no red LED charge indicator anymore. It does nothing at all.
I tried the VOL down hard reset and I get nothing, I've removed the sim and tried it again with nothing.
The battery was fully charged when I did all this.
Can somebody please help me figure out how to get this phone working again. My wife bought it for me for Christmas from Amazon Wireless for $599.99. It was purchased at full price and SIM unlocked so we wouldn't have to extend our contract. If my wife finds out it is not working I'll never hear the end of it..... I would really like to avoid this and get it going asap.
Thank you!
You're posting in the Endeavoru forum with stuff about the Evita. In hboot what does it say at the top?
If it say Evita, you need to post in the One XL forum and install software from there and follow guides from there.

My Phone is a One X, Not a One XL.
If you go to your bootloader it might make more sense.
The phone we talk about here is a quad core Tegra 3.
Hold the volume - button and the power button down together until it restarts in the bootloader, do not let go of the buttons until you see the bootloader !
And he's asking this because the toolkit you are using is from the wrong forum, of you have an endeavoru phone......that's why we need to know what is on the top of your bootloader !

Oh sorry, I misunderstood what he ment. The phone will not do anything, will not go into bootloader or anything. It seems completely dead.
I took it to the AT&T store and they tried to get it to something, anything at all and they too had no luck. It appears I have bricked it.
I now have no idea what to do with it to restore it.
Well I learned something new today. I had no idea there were two different models of the same phone. I think I said that right.
Thanks for the replies guys!
Could the batt be totally dead, leave it on a charger for a while and check if it boots into the bootloader ?!
If u have an AT&T HOX so u are in wrong forum. This is for HOX International.

Yes there are two versions of the one x.
To the rest of the world the one x is a quad core tegra 3 device with the codename endeavoru.
In the US the one x is a dual core Qualcomm device with the codename Evita.
So a far as your aware you have a one x. But to the rest of the world. Your device is actually the HTC one xl.
And as such you have flashed something designed for a different phone.
If I recall correctly there are other people in the past who have Also made this same mistake and bricked their device.

True, but the method to get it at least to the bootloader is the same......at least one step in the right direction, after that the correct forum.
It doesn't boot at all so the type of phone is still a doubt here. I have seen people here on AT&T but they bought a unlocked endeavoru somewhere else

To be fair i don't think the type of phone is in question here.
The att toolkit is for the one xl
The fact that you used the at&t toolkit to root which worked shows you have the HTC one xl
Using that toolkit to root the tegra version would result in the ROM not loading as it would be flashing a kernel for a different phone.
When you flashed the recovery partition for the tegra one x. At the point that you powered the phone off. It is in recovery mode.
As the recovery is not for your phone its likely messed all the filesystem's up and caused a brick

I inquired at AT&T and because they didn't sell it, they wont do anything. Because I've been with AT&T for 23 months, They did offer to send me a refurbished phone in exchange for mine for a $250 fee.
My only other option is to send it to HTC but I dont know what they charge for repair.

Your correct. The AT&T tool kit did work for the root and unlocking the bootloader... The only recovery that came in the tool kit is TWRP and I wanted clockwork mod due to the fact I am used to it and comfortable using it so I went browsing around looking for the Clockwork mod install for the One x when I stumbled upon a thread on XDA pointing to this site I posted in my original post that offered instructions to install CWM so I followed it and here I am now.....
I appreciate all the replies and I assure you I feel very foolish that I have done this. I have always been very careful with my previous devices in making sure something like this didn't happen so I am disappointed in myself for being so careless this time.
Jess
Most likely reason he bricked his phone is from flashing CWM which is incompatible with the ATT One X. I have seen people bricking their phones flashing it on their forums.

[Q] HTC Desire Z SLCD Brick

Can anyone help please
I have a HTC Desire Z purchased originally in Lithuania, the previous owners have somehow SLCD Bricked the phone. The phone is in excellent condition and I would love to save it. I have read threads that suggest that I have to make a Gold Card form the country of origin and make of the phone, being in the UK this is not an option for me.
Does anyone know how I can save this phone please ( and if possible giving instructions understanding that I am unable to see the screen), I have access to a computer and have Android SDK (and Fastboot installed), I also have the HTC driver installed on my computer, but neither the Adb Devices nor Fastbook list the devices when connected to the computer.
Many thanks in advance for those who have read this and can give advice
I have no idea what an SLCD brick is so maybe you can elaborate a bit

Thank you for your response, from what I understand an SLCD bricked phone is one that someone has tried to upgrade to another version of Android system which is not compatible with a SLCD Screen but for an AMOLED one http://androidforums.com/desire-all-things-root/226723-unbricking-slcd-bricked-desire-howto.html one and there for the phone will not switch the screen on, the phone in general works (receives phone signal and rings).
The only way to restore the phone is to create a Goldcard from the country of origin (and same make) as I am unable to create a gold card from the phone as SDK or Fastboot (from the computer) do not list device, and I am unable to switch the phone into debugging mode as cannot see screen to operate menu system.
Basically I need to create a Goldcard somehow for the country of origin (Lithuania) and find a HTC__032 ruu compatible for the HTC Desire Z.
Again many thanks for helping
Oh got ya, but unfortunately I don't believe there is any amoled firmware options for the desire z so if incompatible firmware was flashed you would have just a regular brick. But if everything on your phone is working besides the screen I would assume its a hardware fault and you are looking for a new LCD or main flex cable to repair it. But if you want to look for stock firmware in the above link there is another link on returning to stock where nipqer has uploaded some stock options. As you said these may not work in fastboot mode without a goldcard but feel free to try, phone does not need to have debugging on to be recognized by computer in fastboot, you just need the drivers

I found a thread about SLCD bricking of the original Desire: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=748498
It may have some helpful instructions (which you seem to have already figured out re: GoldCard and an OTA update), but the files aren't appropriate for the Desire Z
Thank you
