hi i just installed the viperx rom on my htc one x everything was working fine until i got the 2.2.0 ota update and when instaling this update it said please select: remove htc sense ui and i did now everything is black i can only get to the setting. and when the phone reboots an error pops up saying dialer has stopped. i got the 2.2.1 update but it just reboots when i hit "install now".
can anyone please tell me how to fix this thanks. i already searched the forum didnt find anything!
Just flash the ROM again like you did the first time.
Try to reflash the rom and only wipe cache and dalvik cache, and then do not choose remove sense UI . You should keep all your settings and apps.

Ok this might be a stupid question but I didn't find an answer when searching. I am running the Ginger Villain 1.8 rom version on my G2 phone but no matter how many rom updates I install my "Mod Version" always says GingerVillain1.4. Shouldn't it change with each update I install? Also my Android version never changes from 2.3.1 but i see other threads with pics showing 2.3.2 and 2.3.3.
Maybe try and do a fresh flash. Wipe and all that jazz?

Thanks for the reply. I tried multiple flashes that but still never changes from gingervillain 1.4. I always wipe data, cache partition and dalvik before every new rom install. 1.4 was the 1st rom i ever flashed so i don't know if that has something to do with it or what. I'm going to flash Xboarder56 v1.9 tonight and see how that goes but i'd still like to know why my Team Villain roms mod version stays the same
As you know i can't ask this directly into dev's section right now, i want to ask after flashing various roms, i came through these 2 roms from suilmagic, 1 is insertcoin, and anotherone is desire s ported for g2 with sense/gingerbread, insertcoing doesn't have fm radio in his rom, but his desire s ported rom does have, but i have installed it correctly but it cannot load htc sense home screen, and it stucked on htc logo, i can access all apps through search button, just cant go to home screen, one more thing, when i open settings>personalize through search it says htc sense closed unexpectidly..force close, tell htc)...plz advice

yup bro i wiped data/cache, and also wiped dalvik cache, after that i installed rom, and through clockworkmod, not through rom manager
You might of just got a bad download, try downloading again.
Have you used superwipe. Might worth giving it a try and reflash the desire s rom. Get it from here http://db.tt/7xNYpFp

OK BRO..THANX FOR YOUR HELP...Right now device is at home...will re-download, and get back to you, my device is S-OFF, So using superwipe will not affect that? or i will have to re-root? give me the link of a guide for using superwipe if possible...once again thanks alot for your attempt to sort out my problem...
Superwipe won't remove s-off. Check out the origianl thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044992
It is a really good tool, I use everytime I switch roms and it does seem to make a difference.

i just flashed it again. i installed insertcoin sense again. and then i boot in cmw recovery, wipe data and did'nt wiped dalvik cache, and then installed desire s g2 port again, but still same, device booted and lock screen came up on first boot like every rom. but when i unloke screen, htc logo appeared and home screen did'nt loaded, now i am downloading again, but i am very unsure it will work, if zip file would have been damaged due to bad download, why its opening properly, anyhow 75mb downloaded so far, lets see
@cjward23: As per your instruction, i downloaded it again and also used your superwipe to wipe data/cache..and then installed desire s g2 port, but still having same issue, phone booted up properly with my network logo appeared as well, but when i unlock screen, it shown htc logo, actualy all roms show it, but within 5 minutes i see htc setup like time zone, google accounts etc, but this desire s didnt, it just stucked to that htc logo like its installing something, but no setup appears, this time i waited for 10 minutes, but no change...so far i get back to insertcoin sense/gingerbread 1.4, which is working properly as usual...actualy i just need fm radio...can you help me geting fm radio on insertcoin rom?
i've flashed the new Android revolution 6.1.0 Rom
and i have noticed that this rom comes with the new android market.
now, every time i loading it up and start using it, a force closes
happends.
i already cleared cache and data, but the fc continue to happend.
1. How can I fix the FC?
2. Is there any way to remove the new market and install the old one?

Hello
I have an original HTC Desire to be honest I think its a great mobile apart from one major issue which almost makes it un-usable its complete lack on onboard memory.
For this very reason I upgraded the mobiles ROM from a standard Vodafone UK OTA ROM to Oxygen-2.0-RC7 but I want to remove it and put something on that is 1 better 2 does OTA updates 3 works 4 Im not the sort of geek who can spend days trying to get something working so maybe going back to stock would be best.
I dont know what Vodafone UK are currently up to Andriod wise but think maybe I should go back to stock as I will again get OTA updates when the OS is updated something that I dont get at the moment.
Instead of using Vodafone stock ROM isnt there a generick google ROM with OTA I can use?
My only concern is that will I have to UN root the phone?
Will I loose all ability to transfer apps to the SD card?
I would like to get this done today so any replys would be very very much appreciated.
Cheers
Paul

Ok now im stuck its been so long since I originally rooted and applied my custom rom I can't remember how to put a new rom on!
I downloaded MIUI_Au-Desire-1.10.14_Signed.zip and placed it in the root of my SD card I then rebooted using the bootloader option I then whent to HBOOT and selected Fastboot then selected bootloader the next screen comes up with some errors then goes back to the previous screen...
Any ideas what im doing wrong?
You need to select recovery
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
As rootSU said, select Recovery and not Bootloader.
Before flashing ANY new rom it's always best to do a nandroid backup in case something goes wrong (you can restore to how it was when you made your backup).
Before you flash the rom you've chosen you should do the three wipes... In recovery "wipe data/factory reset", "wipe cache partition", "advanced/wipe dalvik cache".
Install your new rom... "install zip from sd card", "choose zip from sd card".
Thanks everyone ive updated the ROM now i use Titanium backup too.
Only thing is im not sure ill stick with 'MIUI_Au-Desire-1.10.14_Signed'
As im not sure it syns with facebook, twitter only gmail but ill keep looking

If you are set on getting frqent updates you'll want some aosp style rom. I use a sense base rom as I like sense - using a sense 3.0 rom, don't expect many updates as most of it just works

once you've download the apps add the accounts in the settings.
I like MIUI for the themeing and speed.
however if you like to keep sense, insert coin is really good, used that for a few months. Generally most roms you find on here will give regular updates much more than Vodafone or any carrier.
Personally I wouldn't go back to stock. If MIUI isn't for you, its not everyones choice, just browse the roms listed, try a few and see which you prefer.
On a side note I also find my backup root better than titanium backup, but once again its a personal choice.

FYI
Baadnewz has stopped working on InsertCoin.
Hi all,
I've just installed AOKP as I read a lot of nice thing about it, but either if I push the power button to turn my HOX off (send it to sleep), or let it go to sleep after 30 seconds of inactivity, it reboots automaticaly.
Do you have any idea why?

Full wiped before flashing?
Boot.img flashed and erased cache?
Maybe U have to flash boot.img again after flashing rom. Some people reported that this was working for them.

I've done everything according to the instructions. I double checked md5, flashed boot.img, erased cache, flashed zip. I tried to erase cache after installing the zip also, I tried to flash boot.img after installing zip, etc. I'm completly stuck.
I used to change roms, as I try to find the best one, and I didn't have problems - even bootloop - until AOKP JB.
I'm keen on its battery life and I hate sense so I like to try this rom, but until now it is a complet disaster for me. :/
Try another kernel, like ncx.
Uh, that is what I never tried.
Could you maybe post a link or google is my friend?

Is this kernel suggested for AOKP JB? And what about SlimBean?
[Kernel|05|10][ncx-217_v8_beta2 |UV-C|AOSP|CM|AOKP|SENSE_v7.3 + v.8 beta1|base:2.17|]
Today I tried with ncx kernel and aokp made the same restarts.
Other idea?
