Just asking if work is still being done with cm9 and the fire. I have been trying JB for many weeks, but have decided to back to ICS. Seems better for the fire at present. (MHO)
Thanks for any info.

As far as I know, x0xhellx0x still maintains all of his ROMs, including cm7.
I'm sticking with twa_priv's CM9 for now. I try most of his new JB builds as they release but always find some irritating issue that causes me to restore my ICS image.
Nothing major, just don't like how the tablet interface with Nova Launcher changed from vertical dock on the right to horizontal dock on the bottom when running landscaped tablet mode. I suspect this is an issue with both Nova and the ROM with settings I have no real control over (not a coder by any stretch of the imagination). If Nova makes this a user-controllable setting I'll likely jump right into his JB ROM, although I have to say I have gotten quite used to a transparent status bar which seems to be missing from the JB version.
Which reminds me... is there a generic mod out there I can use to make the status bar transparent on any ROM?

Personally, I've always loved the bounce effect. It feels more natural to me. I don't suppose any devs are interested in modding it back into the 2.3.5+ framework?
Looks like some people are using parts of the 2.3.4 framework to get it back on the original GS2, but of course you lose any changes made to the framework in subsequent updates.
Also, is the horrible overscroll in the browser driving anyone else nuts? It's like Samsung's version instead of the Android version and it's awful. It even gets stuck and 'drifts' if you scroll diagonally and hit an edge. Gonna have to use a different browser for now.
I'm using it on cm7 you should flash it only thing not working is 4g and bluetooth.

Ha e you tried UOT kitchen and their tweaks for overscroll

Woot, Will of fire that should be perfect. I didn't realize how close CM7 was to working. I can hold out until GPS and Bluetooth are working as I use both quite a bit. I've been planning on running CM when comes out anyway.
playya, I checked UOT Kitchen before but I only saw options under Popup to change the color or disable the glow. Does disabling glow enable bounce or am I overlooking the bounce options?
i would love to get the bounce back too, the overscroll color made me think there was something wrong with my phone, lol
guys, sorry for my bad English.
Last evening i flashed Jelly bean on my GN and it was the perfect ROM for me, but..
the only reason why i restore aokp was nav buttons.
Can anybody make something like this on the screenshot?
Thanks for any help!
Dude I am looking for the exact same thing. I cant live without 4 NA Bar buttons, inparticular adding a MENU button. I searched thru the Jelly Bean RF Sticky and downloaded some potential MODS and APKs but I have seen a clear NAV Bar MODe that enable the adding of buttons.
This is why AOKP is the best they cater to the needs of all I love the ROM Control, I cant live without it sometimes, but I gotta say 4.1 is buttery smooth!

Until Jelly Bean source is available, dev/modding is limited.

This thread might help...
Everything is possible...

pedmond, thanks for the link. i saw it a week ago. now i am searching for the statusbar buttons for jelly bean. the thread can be closed/
Chance Ill, are you a noob?
I'm currently running ARANOIDANDROID 2.53 and I really love how I can change the size of how my apps run and my usable destop space. but the CM10 trebuchet launcher only alows 7x7 which is okay for the colums but it leaves large gaps for the rows. Is there anyway to get past the 7x7 max setting? I found a flash for CM9 but am scared to try it.
I'm not sure about the cm9 flash. But to change the options available you'd probably have to decompile the launcher and edit the code.
Your best bet would be to ask in the thread and hopefully the dev or someone else will have an idea for an alternative launcher or may know if the cm9 one would work. (I wouldn't guess it will as its an ics version being put on a jb rom. But you never know till you ask!)
If you wind up trying to flash a mod like that, just be sure you have a nandroid backup and be certain the mod was made for this device!

Hi folks,
I've recently ported from S2 running CM10.1 nightly to N4 with stock rooted and I'm missing some nice mods / hacks from CM, such as right swipe of notification bar to see settings and left swipe for notifications, long press on settings from notification bar to go for certain settings like WiFi and more.
Does anyone know if such ports from CM10.1 are available for flash to a rooted stock?
If there a list of such ports, I'll appreciate a link.
Thanks in advance,
Bright
Just flash CM10.1
Thanks for the offer, but I would like to remain with my stock
Are there any other resources for applying CM10.1 features to 4.2.1 rooted stock?
With nexus devices, people don't really bother modding the stock rom, as aosp is perfectly stable on the n4 and identical to the stock rom anyway.
No bloody smali hacks, all source

My wife's sgs2 nav bar died. So I flashed slimbean which has a softkey nav bar capability and that rom kicks ass. Problem is that its her phone and she misses touchwiz. Specifically the calendar. So is the anyone out there that can point me to a rom with touchwiz and softkey nav bar, or even better, guide me to a thread that helps me install softkey nav in the Jedi mind trick ROM? Please help guys.

Thanks man, but those are a no go. Tried the first one and its just a pain (it does work in a pinch, just not suitable for daily use). The second one doesn't install nav softkeys, it just allows you to change their properties if the phone already has nav softkeys, which slimbean already has that customization ability baked in.
oo ok scratch that an maybe try this but not promissed but staying on slim but giving her the Touch wiz 5 launcher that way she can still use the stocky look but still have the navbar maybe ???? if not i hate to say it here but you can try out JellyBam on goo.im and in there settings you can download the TW launcher for her or even paranoid since they have the most customization out there and or stable jelly milestone 6 was the stable and true just a thought to try and help
Use whatever rom you like, with the navigation bars you want. Then pay a couple bucks for pure grid calendar widget. Its pretty much the same as the touchwiz Calender widget....plus themes for it.

I would open the phone and see if the ribbon did not pop out. Replacing is expensive( not the keypad, but the screen) as you have to get the screen out and good chance for damaging. Keypad is cheap.
Thanks for the replies. I have actually taken the phone apart and the ribbon cable was in place. Not really interested in a widget either, but it is a nice widget. I did however find this:
