I've upgraded to ICS and I was hoping to get the stock emoticons (It's funny, from my searching, most people don't like them and want to get rid of them). They can be found under this directory:
/system/framework/framework-res.apk/res/drawable-xhdpi/
There should be 17 files named:
emo_im_xxxxx.png
I just want the PNGs of the stock ICS instead of Sony's, if somebody doesn't mind.

Update:.
I found a handcent plugin that put the stock 3.x smileys on the phone and I replaced the files with my 4.x images. I'd like to replace the framework-res smileys so that I don't have to change the plugin everytime I update. I just don't have much understanding of updating/flashing it in order to not cause a boot loop.
I personally miss my CM9 Rom that had all emoji built in so that I didn't have to use handcent or anything

Hello all, I've been flashing my roms for a long time now, and I'd like to think I'm not much of a newbie here, but there is one thing that is ruining me. I've asked on the thread where the rom has been posted, but no answers.
The Rom in question is AuraxTSense 7.6.1.
Is there a way to get rid of all transparency and just have it look like Sense? (not that I want sense. LauncherPro is my cup of tea) but the transparency on the keyboard, the transparent dock at the top and the dropdown menu looking grey isn't to my fancy. So is there a way to get rid of all transparency? I haven't tried flashing "original theme" from the first page yet, but I will do if it gets rid.
Running NexTSense v6.0 atm and would love to upgrade to the newest version as I do like what Neo is doing with his roms. They are stable and not so battery hungry (that'll be another day to find out the best radio).
Thanks,
Dan

flash the original theme will get rid of the expressobar, flash a diffrent taskbar will get rid of the transparant taskbar and notifiction pull down, and use adb to remove and push the original htc_ime.apk to get the old one back, you could also make your own htc_ime mod at www.gimpsta.com and use that instead
Well flashing the original theme will get rid of it and return theme to stock sense(not espresso), but he states it is for 5.0, so if he have changed anything else in the .apk's it flashes, it might change other things. but i would say go ahead, make a nandroid and try it. Alternatively you could pull the the following from 6.0 and add them to a zip file:
- framework-res.apk
- com.htc.resources.apk
- Rosie.apk
- HtcLockScreen.apk
Those are the one's included in the original theme zip. (edit: also many of the widgets are edited, if you want to change back, pull those from 6.0 as well)
Btw. i love the transparency, and i'm using the rom myself. Only thing missing is transparrent message area, when pulled down. For the keyboard. Just use the "HTC ime mod" which is also included
Cheers for your help guys. I'm gonna check both of them out. Making my own keyboard seems a great idea because I have big thumbs and always hit the . button and would like to get rid of the language. Would be fun times. I do like HTC_IME Mod too tbh, flawless!

Well, I'd just like to confirm that all this worked. I got the AuraxTSense 7.6.1 and NexTSense 6.0 and took all the files out of the 6.0, put them in to a zip file with all of AuraxTSense 7.6.1 and flashed it (after doing Nandroid just incase).
Only thing is the Keyboard didn't get rid of the transparency, but seeing as their is the Multitouch Keyboard, as well as HTC_IME Mod, it's fine!

now this rom has this new file overlay system, you might just be able to replace the htc_ime.apk with the stock one using a file explorer
I've been trying to install Morphs or a blackbar for the new (rooted) OTA Update. I'm using the ROM that was (claimed to be in the thread) deodexed (look here: h t t p://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=811620). I've either had boot loops or blank screens after boot. Have you guys managed to get any morphs to work? I'm just looking for a smooth black statusbar.
I'm guessing (since you didn't post a link to the theme) that it flashes services.jar in /system/framework, if you remove that and edit the xml accordingly it will work, but the time will remain black. You'll need to manually edit your services.jar to fix that.
I tried flashing themes that were CM6 compatible (Simplicity), and just the browser and the framework_res.apk. I haven't tried any others.
And those bootlooped? It's probably a much better idea to get support in the release threads for those themes.
Good idea. Thanks!
i just downloaded that build you posted a link too and it is still odex'd unless you deodexed it yourself or something
bump!
Sorry to bump this, but I'm also looking for a themed version of the 2.2.1 OTA rom, but in particular i want the black bar with white letters, such as the Community Hero Mix has. Is there something like this? Aside from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=848791, because I prefer the green on black and a simple OTA rom
So, I forgot to backup my system & framework apk's before I uploaded them into the kitchen and made a new theme. *I know, shame on me*.
Is there a default/stock for those or are they created based of individual phone information?
What i'm asking is, do I need to re-install the rom to get those back or can I just pull them from above said stock apk's?
Android: 2.3.5
Rom:Cm7(08012011)
Any help would be greatly apprecaited!!!
Thanks-

i'm confused. are you saying you dont like your theme and want to go back to stock or you want you want to update to the next nightly but dont want to do the kitchen every time?
I'm not reaaal familiar with the kitchen stuff, I know more than enough to get myself in trouble (changing radio's, roms, etc) but haven't completely grasped the themes yet.
It SEEMS like a couple of things are not changing even if I create a completely new theme (The battery icon, the lockscreen buttons and something else I forget)
My thinking is, there's a generic theme(s) for the rom and when you create a get a new one, it updates certain aspects of it.
If I create a new theme in kitchen and only change the battery, wouldn't all of the other settings revert to the "default" theme?
On a completely different note-
What's the difference between ADW themes and Themechoose themes?

Ah. ok. so what ever you change in the kitchen it will change in the apk. it wont touch the rest of the apk. its kinda like an online apktool. it unpackages it changes the png's you want and then packages it up again using the resources from the apk you submitted. ADW themes are for the ADW launcher so it only themes the home screens. but Themechooser themes the whole phone, or as much as the developer of themechooser allowed it to do.
Great! Thanks
My phone (Galaxy S Plus) is running aosp ics built by broodplank and i want to theme it with touchwiz 5 cm9 theme. I used ninjamorph and copy and paste res file of the touchwiz 5 theme.apk (extracted) into both the systemui.apk and gramework-res.apk. I rebooted my phone and exactly no difference. Can someone tell me how to theme aosp? I hate cm9 cause aosp on my device runs smoother than vm9 and more slim
You probably didnt expect to see me here but i think you need to transfer those files with more care.
I mean the images in drawable-hdpi dont even match names probably so then its a waste of space only.
You need to check and study the contents of the aosp files good. And then based on what you know you start copying those files.
Im not a themer but i think its not just copying if you port them from a different framework (tw in this case)

Thanks but are there any tw frameworks in your aosp?
Why you dont use the theme chooser from market and apply one touchwiz theme?

he is completely right (it's broodplank, what you'd expect?)
I got a hint for you. these files which you extracted should have the same name as the same screen solution, if not, they are cannkt be displayed and you will get a fc.
How about making a team Juhan Jufri? you are a good modder! I'm building Project Stock at the moment (based on Broods AOSP (thank you again, really well done!)
It's a rom which should have all Samsung features we know well from our gb stock to make a stock like 4.0.4 rom (samsung said, they couldn't because of some hardware stuff, i will proof that).
It's not easy so I need help.
So? would you join my team and help me build Project Stock?
EDIT: forgot to answer your question. take the twframework.apk from a gb stock (based) rom. can be found (gess you already know) in system/framework

working on:
Project Stock (4.0.4)
I just recently switched my stock rom to be deodexed and I'm now looking at the possibility of theming and mods for my rom.
I already have a little experience modding the signal icons on a different Android device, and I've already downloaded a mod from this forum that turns part of the stock dialer to a holo dark/material theme, but I want to do more with it.
So far I can't seem to find a good tutorial on how to properly mod system files, especially knowing that the stock rom on the Moto G is a Motorola variant of Android KitKat, and not AOSP or similar, although it's close enough that I figure some mods might work since many Xposed modules for AOSP work fine on my stock rom.
Would it be safe to look for a tutorial based on AOSP 4.4.4, or does anyone know a good place to learn the proper way to modify and theme a Motorola stock rom?

get apktool
with this decompile your apks you want to theme/mod
hapy theming! (there plenty of tutorials of how to edit images or the .9 patch files. with gimp etc.. just search )
after that recompile, if you just have edited some images (ressources) pull them afterwards from the new COMPILED apk out in a folder.
take the original apk & open with 7zip & pull the edited stuff into the right directions.
if you have done some advanced modification such as in values folder, you need after the new apk is compiled, open it with 7zip & pull from the original app the meta-inf folder into the new compiled one (singing) after tthat replace it on that phone
