Kackered my phone and need some help if possible !
I have unlocked my one x using the HTC site then installed install-insecure-windows.bat as in this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1577671 in order to flash clockwork mod.
I unfortunately misunderstood the instructions and did not copy the clockwork mod img file or any other files on to the phone, i entered recovery mode and the phone got stuck on the black download screen. I hard rebooted my device and it is stuck in a reboot loop where it boots into the os then immediately reboots again.
I can enter bootloader mode but if i try to erase cache or flash from there it says -
C:\one>fastboot erase cashe
erasing 'cashe'... FAILED (remote: (00000008))
finished. total time: 0.000s
I have checked it sees the device and that seems ok -
C:\one>fastboot devices
HT257W103326 fastboot
Anyone offer any help ??

Actually, your command is wrong, not "cashe" but "cache".
This thread should be posted in Q&A section by the way.

Sorry about that, could the mods move it or am i better staring a new thread ?
I have managed to flash clockwork mod in fastboot, does the battery have to be a certain lever before it will flash ? It just seemed to work on its own after an hour or so.
So now I need to get a rom onto the phone storage in order to flash, is this possible if i cannot get onto the phone os itself ?
Sorry for the noob questions, I have flashed a few android devices before but usually have removable storage, forgot the one x didn't !

in CWM go to mounts and storage then click mount USB.
in older versions of CWM this didn't work so you had to push the file to the sdcard with ADB, i'll post them just in case.
i would recommend updating rather then using this method:
first boot into the boot loader and go to fast boot then use
fastboot boot recovery.img
from there you can use ADB to push any file to the sdcard with
ADB push file.name /sdcard

First off im sorry if this has been asked before, but i had a hard time finding any information relating to my problem.
Basically i tried updating the recovery image to the latest CWM, but after flashing i cant enter recovery anymore. The phone seems to work fine otherwise, but when i try to boot to recovery, the HTC logo just stays on the screen indefinitely. Removing power and battery and reinserting allows the phone to boot regularly.
Ive tried reflashing both manually and using ROM Manager, but to no avail.
Is there any help to be found anywhere?
Thank you for any help you can give.

Holy hell man you are the best! Thank you so much!
I tried that one before, but not with "erase recovery" and "erase cache". That did the trick!
Haha if i could hug you i would
EDIT: oh also, this time i did the whole process without the SD card inserted, if that makes any difference.
Okay so I am trying to install the jdroid rom, btw first time ever doing this so bare with me, anyways I can't boot my phone stays at HTC quietly brilliant screen with some writing underneath it red. I can get into the bootloader menu, where I am rooted and says my bootloader is unlocked. I can also get into clockwork mod however I messed up when transferring the rom onto my phone. I unzipped it and put it there instead of leaving it in the zip file. I can't mount to my laptop through clockwork mod, is there any other way? Again I can't boot my phone. Thanks
EDIT: Now whenever my phone boots, it boots into the clockworkmod and keeps rebooting I can't do anything, cant mount my phone at all

You need to enter the fastboot mode ... hold "volume-down + powerbutton" for 10 secs and then again push the powerbutton to enter the fastboot mode.
Edit: and after that use the comand fastboot flash recovery nameofrecovery.img
Just saw the edit now will try thanks alot man appreciate it!

What you need to do when flashing:
a) CWM recovery
fastboot flash recovery xxxrecovery.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot erase cache
b) Flashing a ROM
extract the boot.img from the ROM.zip
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot erase cache
enter recovery
install the ROM.zip
reboot

Next time also read the instructions.
M.
as long as you can get the correct RUU and flash the correct stock recovery, RUU will defo work, then you can start again from scratch. I've done this myself
edit: AT&T????? Are you even in the correct forum using the correct files/methods??? HTC One XL is different forum, different files!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alright I got out of it using the st&t ruu, though I live in Canada and on Rogers. Data doesnt work but that is not surprise. Gotta wait for a root access and/or bootloader unlock for 1.85. will be patient.
I have the ATT HTC One X and I used the All-in-One toolkit to flash recovery. I have tried several roms and all of them are stuck at the boot screen. Not the htc screen but the first screen of the rom. After doing this if I boot back into recovery and mount storage, my computer says the storage is not formatted. What could be wrong?
Thanks in advance.
You're posting in the wrong forum, so you could well be installing software incompatible with your phone.

You will have to flash boot.img manually from cmd prompt. Before flashing any rom.

Like crpticrage said. Since u dont have s-off, u cant flash complete boot.img from phone itself. u need to extract boot.img from rom.zip file. place it in your fastboot folder. then wen phone is in fastboot usb, type in cmd "fastboot flash boot boot.img". ALSO, the first boot of any Rom can take upto 10 mins. Wait for a while and see. if still not working. den follow above steps
Whenever I turn on my Htc one vx it goes to the htc boot logo and under it it has the words in red letterss. "This build is for development purposes only. Do not distribute outside of HTC without HTC's written permission. Failure to comply May lead to legal Action." I tried to root it but had some trouble and when i get into boot loader it says at the top tampered and unlocked. Any help is greatly appreciated.

explain all steps you did already and also if you where on 4.0 or 4.1.2 i will try to help if i can.
Sorry for the late response. I don't remember too well. I watch a guide with the normal commands to root it but was stuck where it was rooted but i could not load super user. I made the mistake of trying to unroot it and then it got stuck at the screen. I think I don't have the stock rom loaded on the phone anymore but I am not sure and I don't know how to load a rom but I can easily learn. Thank you for your help

ok well if you are still unlocked fastboot flash a recovery then flash a stock rooted rom i would try ICS frist because if you have not flashed a JB RUU or the JB firmware you should still be on ICS 4.0 firmware unless you know you where on JB 4.1.2 if so install the JB stock rooted rom. to do that after you fastboot flash the recovery and have DL the rom just put the rom on a ext. SD card via PC sd card reader. also extract the boot.img from the rom and put it in the same dir. that you have adb and fastboot files. boot into recovery.Do a factory reset wipe from the recovery then install the rom for SD card. After it installs reboot to bootloader fastboot then fastboot flash the boot.img . Hint wherever you have adb fastboot files just open that dir and hold shift and right click and that will give you the option to open cmd propt in that dir. then do your fastboot flash cmd. that should do it and get you up and running again. hope it helps

I dont have any drivers installed and I think that is the problem. How can I install drivers without htc sync because The device doesn't show up? Thanks
Nevermind I found the htc drivers.

This rom is for evita/htc one xl. You need to use an endeavoru/htc one x rom
Sent from my One X using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
it works!!!!
So it really works!! After i tried to install this version for One X xl (i do have also try with same endeavoru version) and waiting for at least 30 min with the HTC screen, i decided to try the backup again. So back to recovery and give a shot. And it works!!! I assume that because this backup was made before i had install the Cyanogenmod it need the SENSE to work again. I thought that the backup was from the cyanogenmod but it was from time before it. So now i have it restored to rev.hd rom. Lot to learn about this world, lot of mistakes to make an try to fix them.... but when you finally get it right (with very good advice from good people) it's rewarding feeling.
Thanks everyone, lets try not to make that error again.:good:

Yes it do say that it is Endeavoru. I think that the real problem was that i did not flash the boot.img right. probably the .img file was different that the one i got. (10.2.0) Since the update came true OTA of Cyanogenmode (did i understand it right?) I should have flash the new boot.img from the 10.2.1 zip file via fastboot to get this work. I just assume...

Yes if the update have kernel change you must to flash every time boot.img from the update archive or rom archive we don't have S-OFF. But have one way to do this Check in Original section for Kernel Lighter it give the chance to flash boot.img via recovery and Aroma file manager but read all before try something
