Hi, my sim card is not active yet but I don't resist to test my ION.
But, the wifi is shut down every 2 minutes when the phone try to test the sim card that's cause problem with the games. The only thing that I've find is to activate the flight mode and the wifi together. In this case it works fine.

I've got an r800i running gin2jellybean on the virgin network. It has been unlocked using the code method. Everything has been fine on the phone except last night when I ran out of minutes. The phone disconnected from the network and said no sim, which isn't out of the ordinary. I paid the bill and waited several hours for my service to return. After it didn't work I rebooted my phone... to no avail. Sometimes when my wifi is on and the battery gets low the phone says no sim but when wifi is turned off service returns. I've tried rebooting with airplane mode on waiting a few moments and turning it off..... but still it says no sim card!
I'm at a loss and have no idea what to do! It was wofking fine..... and now NOTHING!
I work in an area with little to no service. What service I do have is rarely usable. However, the company does have WiFi that I can use. I have Google Voice setup for texts and calls. Is there a way I can temporarily disable the sim or cell and just use WiFi without removing the sim card? I use a lifeproof case and don't want to take it apart eveeytime I need to disable it. I'm on AT&T using PAC ROM. Any help is appreciated.
Can't you just put it in airplane mode? I do that sometimes, then just turn the wifi back on.
Well I guess that was a bit of a noob question. Seems I was over thinking things a bit. I assumed it turned airplane mode off once you turned WiFi on... I was wrong. Thanks!
I thought it may have been an update to my app (Amazon Flex), so I rolled back to a previously saved version, but the issue persisted.
If I dont have a sim in the phone, the app will say that it cant get an accurate GPS location. Tried rebooting, airplane mode, clearing and redownloading the AGPS data.
The only thing that makes it work is inserting a sim card.
This device has LTE issues for me, so I prefer to just leave it on WIFI tethered to another device. But due to this issue, I have to remove the sim from my primary phone to make this phones GPS work.
Still havent figured out whats going on. I've just left the sim in there. If I can at least get the LTE to stay on consistently, then I'll be happy.
Scouring the forums right now trying to find posts relevant to me.

Hello,
Can't help you, but I have the same problem and it seems to have occurred in a similar time - also a few days ago. Suddenly my SIMs stopped being detected overnight and then after a few restarts wifi stopped working too.
Also, the SIM cards work fine when inserted to another phone.
Any ideas?
My phone wifi won't stay on long as their is a sim card in the phone. The wifi will keep connecting and disconnecting.. Have anyone else had this issue
