I downloaded hashcode's new CM10 build for Kindle Fire (New CM10 STOCK build: [09/05] CM10 STOCK + 4AI.1.7 KERNEL [BETA]).
But I cannot find tablet mode in settings anymore. Is it something missed there?

Got same question here:

I cannot post in development-related forum.
Strange, I was unable to use the Tablet UI on this rom too.
Did you get any luck?
Thanks

Anyone working on a plain old vanilla Android 4.0 port? I'm currently using a CM9 build, but I personally prefer vanilla experiences when it comes to OS's.
I'm not certain but I remember seeing that someone had ported AOSP for the Fire a while back and it has just recently been updated with the 3.0 kernel.
Look around the development forums to see what you can find. I'm pretty sure I saw something about it either in one of the AOKP threads or the 3.0 kernel thread.
Can anyone point me to where I can find this, if it exists? I've looked everywhere.

Added the unofficial NIGHTLY server info in the OP.
Every night, this build is generated automatically from CM sources using the latest kernel.

there you go
I was going to switch from [ROM][5/20/12] AOKP KF Edition Build 36 by Lithium 76 which works perfectly, except for no USB mass storage mode. I'm going to go t a CM9 build, but there appears to be two, and I wonder if anyone knows if there is a difference.
There is this one in the development section:
[ROM] Vanilla CM9 Unofficial builds with 3.0 kernel Trojan38
On this thread I'll put my unofficial CM9 builds. They are fully vanilla, except for the volume slider in the status bar, they are exactly the same as Hashcode builds and they include the latest CM source changes. According to this, the issues and bugs are exactly the same.

And then there is the ROM from Hashcode himself hiding in his Kernel thread, cm9-kfire-3.0-hashcode-05-26.
I notice that the file names are different when I download them, and the file sizes are also not the same, some I'm wondering if they are really identical as Trojan38 says.
Any takers?
hashcodes rom is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1591850 I believe it gets all the extra bug fixes first I tried it it very smooth but if you liked aokp try this one http://rootzwiki.com/topic/23717-rom5202012unofficial-aokp-build-36-for-kindle-fire/ mass storage is working.
Vanilla is barebones just the basics
I have a Kindle fire 2 2nd gen with twrp installed. I had jb 4.2.2 rom cm 10.1. I had no errors with programs running. I decided to install jb 4.3 and cm 10.2. So far the only error is with the android keyboard. It says (android keyboard has stopped working). The back button does not work. The home button and the button to the right of the home button works. I am going back to the previous versions until an official nightly version comes out. Thanks to the programers for their work on these projects.

Backup your ROM and try a clean installation of CM10.2 with full wipe.
CM 10.2
Thanks for your suggestion. Have you tried it on your Kindle?
Pretty much everyone has. It's generally the first step in troubleshooting a malfunctioning ROM.
Also, if you install gapps, make sure you have the right version for your build.
right version

First, I recommend you flash Elemental X in recoveries instead of GOO.IM amanger, download it from the developer's xda thread here, and flash it in recoveries.
Which AOKP are you using? The Official one in this thread which is the same as the on AOKP's own website? or the Unofficial one posted here on XDA?
The Official AOKP is currently based on CM CAF Kernel, which means you should use CAF ROM with it, ElementalX is not going to work with CM CAF based ROMs so if you are on this version of AOKP I would stay away from ElementalX for now.
The Unofficial AOKP is based on stock AOSP Kernel and work fine with ElementalX, If this is version you are on I would recommend you get Elemental X 1.8 Beta as other users have said it provides really good battery life.
Thank for the help but I have a few questions
What is the difference between installing in recoveries and goo.I'm
And would I want to install aokp first, then elementals or vice versa.
Would I have to completely uninstall too in order to not use it for the installation
I think I initially tried installing it in recovery mode but it couldn't see the target file
hi all,
I eager to try kitkat version on my kindle fire, and tried several different rom. today I see an article about CM11 M2 Snapshot Build, that supposed to be more stable than nightly build. I do search here about CM11 snapshot build, but didnt find a single thread about this. why is that? from CM webpage, otter version is availble, no one try this? or there's a reason people didnt try this version?
mainly I want to try out the significant improvement with ART, but most ROM said we shouldnt use ART, because it is not stable yet, anyone can point me to the one that works? or at least let me which KitKat ROM that is most stable so far for kindle fire.
meanwhile, I keep getting back to Jandycane for my ROM
thanks

Yes, page 298 is where people start discussing the M2 build.
