Hi, beginner here.
I just rooted my phone and installed Andromadus Mimicry v1.5.0 on my phone. Everything seemed to go great except:
1. When I tried to install google apps it said the zip was bad and would not install it (using clockwork)
2. I tried rebooting the phone and now it is just displaying some type of screen saver that I have never seen before. Looks like multi colored cards or shapes sort of flipping, changing color and disappearing over and over. It is not doing anything else.
Any ideas? Should I reboot again?
Thx
Edit - I fixed issue 1 by rebooting back into recovery and trying to install google apps again and this time it worked. Still having issue #2 though.

Cold booting on mine takes no more than a couple of minutes. Even if I wipe cache it gets through boot animation pretty quickly. You might want to redownload rom, doublecheck hash and reflash it.

Twice it has taken at least 10 minutes. The first time I booted after flashing the new rom and the second time my phone just reboot on its own. Normally just a minute or two.

Hello and thank you ahead of time for reading my thread. I spent a good deal of time searching for solutions in your forums but couldn't find anything related, so apologies if this is a repost.
I recently flashed my stock htc incredible with the leaked 2.2 ROM. While the flashing and installation of the new OS was successful, the phone itself is now acting really weird.
First, it is incredibly slow. There is a noticeable lag between the time I touch the screen and the time the touch actually registers. For example, to dial a number, I have to long press every button for it to register.
The second and much more annoying issue is the phone starts doing all sorts of things on its own. When sending a text message for example, all these keys are randomly pressed, it goes to the desktop, back to sending a text, inputs all these random characters, and sometimes frustratingly on occasion sends the text message on its own. This happens on and off and I haven't been able to figure out what triggers.
My question is, what can I do to fix it? I've reinstalled the ROM several times already and the problems appear every single time.
If I can't fix it, I'd love to go back to my previous stock rom and just wait for HTC's update.
Your help is greatly appreciated it.
Thanks.
have you cleared data and cache? do you have clockworkmod recovery install? please go through all the steps you went through to install the 2.2 leak
If ur rooted then u have clockworkmod installed...you should do a factory reset thru clockworkmod and wipe all data and cache ...
Then after that perhaps try a good and stable ROM ..
Wow thank you for such a prompt response.
I followed the steps in this thread:
[ROM]Leaked Stock 2.2 with Sense [LEAKED ROM - SOME BUGS!!]
(it's on the development front page, I would post a link but since I am a new member I am not allowed to).
In summary, I first updated to Radio version indicated in that thread (version 2).
I then ran unrevoked 3 which installed clockworkmod recovery. Then, I did a wipe. After, in the recovery screen I installed from the zip file of the mod that was in my SD card.
This is all I have done to date.

Okay...good to go.
You should boot into recovery aka clockworkmod...
Then do factoryreset wipe cache and data...
And I would recommend u install a ROM that u would like and u should be fine.
if ya like sense do skyraider....if ya like vanilla do CM6 test 8....and ya should be okay
If ya get stuck feel free to pm me and I can give u my Gtalk and can help furthur if ya need.

I was having this problem too. I solved it by cleaning the screen and making sure my hands werent sweaty before use. I think thays why it didnt register the touch

With an eyglass cleaninn cloth? That worked for me.
I first came across the problem while testing the rom i made, jdfroyo, so initially thought it was my rom. I wiped my hands (which were sweaty) and then thoroughly cleaned my phone off. I havent had issues since.

I have heard that cleaning screen with a certain product (don't remember if it was like soap or alcohol) is not recommended as it leaves an almost invisible layer and can send it to that whacko stage of doing weird stuff. Double check on that... Otherwise, I am with the others > Wipe data/cache > then do a ROM re-flash.

Hi,
Thanks all for your help. And thanks to acid for helping me out on gtalk.
After trying several different ROMs, my phone continues to be really laggy. For example, I can type an entire word in the keyboard before it appears on the screen, and usually only the first few letters register.
I think my screen is just malfunctioning and it happened to coincide with the day I flashed my phone so I am just going to do a warranty exchange.
Thanks again everyone!
OK, so I am not new to the xda desire scene,
(Despite the fact that I can't post in the rom development thread regarding this issue)
I have tried installing this Rom in as many different ways as I can over the past 3 hours:
Using EXT3 rather that EXT4
Changing Hboots
Making sure that I have got the correct download (a2sd+/D++)
Wiping a billion times over
etc etc.
HOWEVER no matter what I do I cannot get this Rom to function
When I boot up for the first time, I just get a wallpaper and notification bar.
No touch screen response/button response.
Only the power button works as a method of turning the screen on/off
I assume from experience at this point in first boot HTC's setup program
(or whatever it is) should start and guide me through
linking up accounts/inputting Wifi keys etc.
I have scoured the rom thread and others regarding rom problems and nobody seems to have had this problem of the Setup manager not starting.
As nice as the Gingerbread Screen On/Off animation is I would prefer to do abit more with my phone
I hope I have posted in the right section and I would very much appreciate it if anyone who has had this experience could help me fix this problem and get a working phone...
(ps. The Rom looks very good, if only I could get it working)
First of all try to redownload the rom!!!
And double check the md5

Hey Thanks guys, but..... I re-downloaded the ROM both versions 1.5 and 1.7 (since 1.5 is thought to be more stable) :/ and get stuck at exactly the same place :SSS I'm am abit baffled since I change Rom's alot and have never experienced this before
Did you wipe dalvik? btw your sd card partion need to be at least 1 gigabyte. It worked for me i had same issue as you. First post on XDA
My first installation of 1.7 didnt work and I had to pull the battery and I thought the same thing was happening with my second try, as the screen just went blank after all the crazy changing shapes that happen during boot. However once I touched the power button the setup menu appeared.
I thought this was strange as every other ROM I have tried went straight from the boot animation to the phone starting without the screen blanking out. I know this doesn't help solve your problem but it might mean something to somebody else, who can then help you further.
ps I have been running the ROM for the past week and I haven't had a screen freeze yet. Which has been a revelation for me, as every other ROM ive tried has been really bad for this.

Ok. Three things are necessary to config APN. Name, APN, Port only these are important. Enter these values and try. I didn't modify anything related to network and configuring manually works just fine on my device

Tried baseband switcher and it does not work, also tried flashing via TWRP my baseband files still get nothing. This is the only rom i have tried that has this problem.

No I can't make calls, and no I do not have a network signal. You first screenshot is what my APN look like, nothing there, I click on new APN put in the settings then select save and it does not save, still ends up like the first screenshot with no APN's in there.
Getting very frustrating trying to fix the problem, have gone back to WIUI until a fix may be found if some one else has the same trouble.

Which version of WIUI are you using?? I tried the new GB version its full of bugs and it has the problem with baseband switcher v4.0. I guess its an issue with the baseband switcher. Try older versions. New release is under testing and bit more stable one

TWRP installs but when I try to reboot into it I get an error message, all I can do from there is reboot into stock recovery wipe data/cache then boot into BL and reflash stock sbf.

i used JWP7 v.1.0.1 (the "stable" GB version) and it takes, LITERALLY 15 minutes to boot up. and then too its just a blank screen with nothing on it apart from the wallpaper. i can pull down the notification bar and thats it. none of the buttons work, there arent any icons either.
i rebooted to see if it makes a difference but nope. same thing. got tired witing for it to boot up and shut it down

Its because of CWM. Flash some CM9 ROM and try flashing this. It will work fine.
First of all, great work. I was afraid to try this because it installs TWRP. Does TWRP support CWM flashable zips? Or how can I go back to another rom if I want?
Coming to the rom itself, installed easily, first boot in 3 mins. Was laggy for some time, then became smooth. The rom is smooth overall except for the launcher. Swiping between screens was always a bit laggy. But I hate MIUI launcher anyway, so installed Apex Launcher and it was really smooth.
Also the default theme has some problem, i.e at many places it's white text written on a white background so that it is impossible to read. This is the only real complaint I have. There have been some random FCs and 1 hotboot, but overall, good work

Thanks for trying. Theme is under development so it has that issue. Yes TWRP recovery is similar to CWM. It is better than CWM. You can flash anything like in CWM
Been some more hours trying your rom. There are occasional hotboots. But apart from that when I try to view a contact from the dialer screen(using t9 search), I get FC(contacts and dialer has stopped working). Also the music player stops playing after 1 or 2 seconds when connected to headset. The latter bug I've seen in Wajk too.

Try JIUI 2.6.15 it is stable. I tried a different combination of ROM's so its having few issues. JIUI 2.6.15 has more features that are not in the new version.
Just tried to installed CM10 on my T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy II. It's been stuck at the boot animation for over 10 minutes. What can I do? My SD card bit the dust and I don't have the backup I'd made previously. I had the SD card's contents saved on my desktop but no idea where the file would be or what it's name would be for the backup I made previously.
I'm not really a n00b per say. Have flashed CM roms on other phones in the past with no issues. First time this has happened. I've tried doing a factory wipe/reset, wiping the cache and Dalvik. Multiple times. No change. Any help is much appreciated as this is my only phone.
UPDATE: Found my CMW backup files but no luck using them. CMW gives me a MD5 mismatch now. Any ideas? Where can I find a stock T-Mobile ROM of 4.1.2? (I think that was the version I had last)

UPDATE #2: So I am trying to do what's said over at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1513359 but getting stuck at Step 6/7. No matter what it seems Odin will not recognize my phone. Phone is in Download mode as it says to do but Odin never detects any phone plugged in. Any help?
Have latest Samsung drivers but it appears per Device Manager that it keeps getting stuck (the phone) at "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" error. Tried uninstalling device, uninstalling drivers, and reinstalling drivers. Same thing every time. I got ODIN to recognize the phone once but after a few minutes it came back with FAILED.
Wish I could figure this out. More frustrated that I can't get it at least back to stock than anything now.
If you have CM10 installed on your phone and if its stuck at boot screen. Do this:
1. Download darkside-cachewipe.zip from http://sourceforge.net/projects/darksidetools/files/ and copy it to your sdcard.
2. Remove the battery wait for 10 seconds
3. Insert the battery again. Holding the volume keys and power key, boot into recovery mode
4. Install zip from sdcard and run darkside-cachewipe.zip
5. Try booting the phone again.
6. This time it should boot correctly.

Well that seemed to work. I had to do a few other things but I ended up getting CM 10.1 RC5 installed and got to the homescreen. Problem I'm having now is I can't get a signal from my carrier at all. No matter where I'm at. It was connected to it at one point but now it doesn't. It's registering on the network because it says T-Mobile but no bars and no 4G indicator showing up whatsoever. Any ideas? Kind of useless at the moment with no signal.
EDIT: So from another post I have on the CM forums they said to look here in XDA for an updated radio? Any ideas? I'm not a n00b but I haven't modded a phone since my old HTC original Android phone years ago so I'm a bit rusty. My current Baseband is currently T989UVLE1.

Ahh yes! Done. Thanks again. Do have one last question. When I finally got into the phone again it started to re-download all my apps I'd had installed previously. But my wi-fi dropped out in the middle of it. How can I make it do that automatic download of my previous apps/settings again? Or can I?

Not sure if you can do that. Go to google playstore from your laptop and then install all the missing apps from the laptop. Its faster that way.
Me too am a flashoholic, so I create update.zip file from TitaniumBackup app and keep it for installing all my apps from the recovery mode.

Yeah I have Titanium Backup even got the Pro one and my SD card got wiped so it can't restore anything now. I could just find the Titanium folder on my desktop because I had made a copy of the entire SD card just prior to it getting wiped clean.
So yesterday I was taking a look to xda developers when I saw a post with cyanogen mod 14 for the Nexus 5x so I installed it. Everything went ok but after looking at the OS for a bit I thought that the OS i had was better (it was nougat 7.1.1, beta program) so before installing cyanogen mod i had made a backup of my older system. I tried to restore the backup but when i tried to turn on the phone it froze when booting, and that started happening over and over, it turns on shows google logo starts booting and freezes, turn of, turns on ....
I've tried to install many diferrent roms from here xda, the normal ones in root toolkit and nothing works, every rom freezes when booting. I've wiped the phone i've done everything i could do in TWRP.
Please if someone out there can help i would be very thankful.

Usually you repair it by flashing firmware

Read this carefully, at the end there is a tutorial how to flash stock. It's number 9 or 10. http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/general/guides-how-to-guides-beginners-t3206930/page150

Yes but be careful what version of Nougat it is and try to match the vendor accordingly.

Didn't you say that everything went ok? What did you do in the meantime? You just flashed stock img? Try to do a factory reset from stock recovery

I done step 10 as you said to do from that post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/general/guides-how-to-guides-beginners-t3206930) then i installed the rom and know its basically happening the same thing that happened in first place.
I probably done something wrong installing the rom.
I've done factory resets several times in stock and custom recoverys

Or it's a hardware issue. Apparently, a lot of 5x are dying suddenly and lately. Try the factory reset first before you flash stock again.

I'll do as you say, but if i can´t solve this i'm kinda screwed because i have no possibilities to buy another phone and i have this one for like 3 months, i have to solve this, i really do. Thanks for all the help! Really appreciated.
Ran into the same exact problem as OP, while restoring 7.1.1 backup when coming from MIUI 8 rom.
Same stuff when completely restoring to stock/installing a different rom etc.
Mike, did you restore EFS from TWRP backup? I have a feeling that it gets corrupted and it wont let the device boot anymore.
Because TWRP runs absolutely fine and even the file manager in it works perfectly, which indicates that it may not be similar to the hardware issue which people might be having.
Phone restarts after first loop of the bootscreen (after all the blue-red-yellow-green dots have turned to their initial size), correct?
Edit: See post #14 for fix.

Anyway I did not manage to get it to boot again, I recommend you restore to stock via fastboot and lock your bootloader before you take it to warranty.

I restored through TWRP the backup i have then when i turned it on the dots just stoped the animation then the phone restarted and it just kept restarting over and over again. The problem is that the warranty ended few months ago, so or i solve this problem or i lose my money.
(I only have the phone for about 3/4 months but the warranty was almost over when i bought it(online))

It seems you made the same mistake as I - You backed up the EFS partition and restored it. I read that this function does not work correctly with TWRP 3.0.2-1,2,3. It will corrupt your EFS partition.

Follow the first post exactly (even though its from the 6P thread), and it will get fixed .

No problem, just share the link to the thread from the 6P forums if you find someone with a similar problem.
