Ok. Short story of what I want to do and why.
I am a developer and I feel that I don't contribute enough to this fantastic site and its users. After the recent unpleasantness I went away and thought about what it is that I could do to try and fix this. My idea is a site or section of the wiki built specifically to track bugs and issues in new roms (I was specifically thinking WMXL but there is no reason this can't be used for all of them).
I am currently working on my own XML based site with PHP5 driving and if people think it will be useful I'd write and host this service before I continued with my own site (hopefully before WMXL 0.30 is released).
I want to try and restrict the way people enter and search the information relating to problems with new roms and try to cut out the background noise. I was thinking about having fields such as ROM version (drop down list), radio version (text box), boot loader (drop down list), main program affected (text box), extent of interference (drop down list), description of problem (text area), how to reproduce error (mandatory text area!).
This will hopefully encourage more people to think about what might be causing the problem rather than just posting what they cant do and expecting someone else to work everything out. Forcing a description of how to recreate the problem will hopefully find most users not needing to post after they work it out, and if the recreation steps dont work then the post will be closed. Hopefully people will think enough that I will be able to moderate this forum (type thing) myself and maybe someone in another timezone (closer to the UK) can take care of it while im asleep.
No one can stop n00bs posting silly questions but hopefully we can reduce the amount this annoys everyone else.
Sorry it took so long to describe my idea.

UPDATE: STARTED!
I got started as soon as I'd got a couple of replies but I still need you all.
For the chef's and other brilliant people:
1. What info do you need with each ticket to try solve them?
2. Do you want to be the only one to close tickets? Or should the submitter be able to?
3. What info do you want to store for the roms to filter to the smallest pool of specific tickets?
For the users:
1. How do you want to be able to search this?
I DON'T ASK FOR DONATIONS! ALL I ASK IS THAT PEOPLE SEARCH BEFORE SUBMITTING!

Bugzilla? yes please
This is a very good idea. In fact, I think that we need too a place to store the temporary fixes generated after each ROM publishing. It will be a good place for this too.
Good Idea.
It Would Help A Lot, Sounds Like Finding Answers Would Be Easier And Should Cut Down On The Hostile Atmosphere.
Cheers
Yes, very good idea.
This become easyest forum for everyone.
If it would be of any use, i can host this on one of our UK servers so we get very good speeds? I know 'iammaz' has said he can host it but he is in Australia so for the UK guys it might be a tad slow.
If not then no worries, but just trying to do my bit!

Cheers and I'm sure everyone appreciates the offer. My site is hosted in the US. At the moment this is being built as a module to my current CMS. Whether or not this adds too much overhead I won't know until I try. The problem will be if I use too much cpu time im sure it's against the ToS with my hosting company and they will shut me down.
I hope that I will have it built as a stand alone object by then and anyone else can take this and run this on php5 hosting or in fact I could run it as web services from my personal server at home.
Progress goes well. Just working on possible searching and indexing algorithms to make searching fast and useful.

It's 2am. I'm piking for the night. I'm expecting a phone call at 7am tomorrow so will be back into it then for 5 or 6 hours. Hopefully will be almost done by the end of that.
I need to work out how you want to have logins work. I don't think i can make it authenticate against this forum (i havent tried integrating with vBulletin before). Do I allow open registration? do I try make it force you to register the same name but PM'ing the password to that username here? do i manually add people as they ask and restrict the group?
let me know in the next 6 hours or so.

hard at work again at http://maz.net.au/
Hi guys,
I know this is somehow a dumb question for you all gurus here. But I am new to upgrading ROM although I have been using PPC for more than 3 years already. I normally only installed softwares, but when I came across this forum, I realised that there are so many cool things that you can do with your PPC and one of them is to upgrade your ROM to make it a better device. This will definately save me monies from buying a new unit (if i am not looking for better speed or memory)
My questions are:
1. How do I upgrade the ROM? Do I need a special software to do it? Or it is a simple CAB file installation
2. Is upgrading ROM legal? I am the kind that support buying the softwares that I need rather than installing the cracked version. I believe this will help the growth of a better development.
3. When I upgrade into a new ROM, would my existing data (such as texts, contacts, other data) be gone? How do I backup these data? I am already planning to buy SPB backup software and I am not sure whether this will be able to help me when I upgrade into a new ROM.
4. How do I revert back to my original ROM if ever I am not satisfied with the new ROM?
5. I know these are basic questions and I too had searched the forum, but I can't just seem to find the right answer to my worries.
thanks guys. . .

Since you didn't give an exact make/model of your PPC, I can only give you some generic answers.
1) Depends on what device you have. Generally, you don't need any special software to do it. Generally, it is not just as simple as a CAB installation.
2) I don't really care to get into that. But, if you think about it, why would you come onto this site to get a "hacked" ROM if your device's manufacturer supplied one for you? What I'm really getting down to is, who would you pay? If you get a "hacked" ROM from here, it's most likely because your device's manufacturer has determined not to supply you with updated ROMs--why then would you send them any more money? Somebody else can try to answer that more appropriately, if they care to.
3) Generally, (again, I can't say anything specific without knowing your device) most ROM updates will format your internal storage. So, yes, you would lose any unsaved data. Backup software like SPB will backup most of your files for you. Go to their site to get the details on that. Essentially, most of your data (contacts, e-mail, tasks, etc...) are referred to as PIM data. Almost any backup software for a PPC will backup PIM data. PIM data, generally, can be restored into almost any WM version. You probably would not want to backup your system data (registry, system files, etc...) and restore it into another version of WM (if it is a major revision change...ie, WM5 -> WM6). That being said, most all of your current programs would need to be re-installed, as a general rule.
4) Did your device come with a "restore disc"? Did you happen to check with the manufacturer of your device to see if an original image (ROM) is available?
5) I'm surprised you didn't find answers to most of these questions, honestly. These are fairly common questions that would be asked in most ROM related threads on this forum. Unfortunately, there is some level of "you just have to try it for yourself" that is usually involved in a ROM upgrade.
I'm pretty sure if you throw out a make and model of your device in this thread, someone with something similar (if not the same thing) will be able to give you more specific answers to your questions.
sorry, i din realise the make and model of my PPC makes a difference. Mine is o2 Atom (black) with WM5.

??? Would you repair a VW Jetta the same way you would repair a Chevy Cavalier or a Passat or a Subaru WRX? Sorry to sound condescending, but of course the make and model makes a difference! But, now that we know what you have, perhaps someone can give you some more specific details to your device. I personally don't know anything about your particular device. Hopefully someone can clear up your questions for you.

cavyman;
BRAVO!!!
Very comprehensive,authoritative,justifiable and meaningful approach.
I wud just like to add here in a nutshell in my own way,no harm meant to anyone,no hard feelings plz & I quote, :-
" Hey ! ya'all ,what are you doing here, why u'all scratching you heads for, with wide opened sleepless eyes starring at the Pc monitor and jumping to your PDA's,go get some rest man, give yourself a break man ,look your wife is annoyed, your children yelling, your boss might kick you out,why you have to sneak out in the night to work on this project, just forget it,it's not worth it... WHY! cuz here I'm MR.RICHIE RICH, I got the dough, I can get every device which comes out after every six months,so why take this trouble of upgrading, with this,OH **** HACKED SOFTWARE,when we have with us Mr.Silly $ator, Long Live Micro$hoft..huh!"
cooldude_no1
With my due apologies,no harm meant to you,but how many people in the world,do you think can buy a new device which comes out with new features and new applications every year, well perhaps 10 to 20% at the give and take average.
secondly, software owner's,vendors, device manufactures and carriers who launch their products dont give a **** after the sale of products, never care and provide support and upgrades to their products,if they did than no one wud have come here and how then will they launch new products.why shud all those people suffer who had paid there hard earned money to buy these devices and than they are deprived of their rights.
We all complement all the techies, gurus and hard working staff of xda forums for their relentless, priceless, reward less and with no monitory gains, the way they are serving the community. All credit goes to them ! Infact,if you go through all of their work, applications, software and cooking of latest Roms, one must say, they are even doing a much better, perfect and excellent job than manufacturers and vendors themselves,THUMBS UP
Ok if your are really interested to upgrade your device, there's a whole thread for your device, for your guidance and upgrade.see in the link below:-

READ: http://linuxtogo.org/~lgorris/kaiser-bootkit/README.txt
Getting the kernel (taken from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2269384#post2269384 ... credits to dwaradzyn): (UPDATED, new ARM toolchain and now working)
Code:
mkdir ~/android
cd ~/android
git clone git://git.linuxtogo.org/home/groups/mobile-linux/kernel.git
cd kernel
git checkout -b htc-msm-2.6.25 origin/htc-msm-2.6.25
cd ..
wget http://www.codesourcery.com/gnu_toolchains/arm/portal/package3382/public/arm-none-eabi/arm-2008q3-39-arm-none-eabi-i686-pc-linux-gnu.tar.bz2
tar xvjf arm-2008q3-39-arm-none-eabi-i686-pc-linux-gnu.tar.bz2\?lite\=arm
cd kernel
make htcraphael_defconfig ARCH=arm
export PATH=~/android/arm-2008q3/bin:$PATH
make zImage ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=arm-none-eabi-
Now the file ~/android-kernel/kernel/arch/arm/boot/zImage is ready to be put on your phone and you can boot it with haret's newest version (1.5.2 works fine) ... downloadable from: http://www.handhelds.org/~koconnor/haret/
Open your favourite text editor to create the file "DEFAULT.txt" and put the following in it:
Code:
set MTYPE 1910
set KERNEL zImage
set INITRD android.bin
set RAMSIZE 0x5e
set RAMADDR 0x10000000
set cmdline "root=/dev/ram0 rp init=/init console=tty0 mem=94M"
bootlinux
Get the file android.bin from http://linuxtogo.org/~lgorris/kaiser-bootkit/ and put it in the same directory as haret.exe, default.txt and zImage.
Is the android.bin in http://h3po.de/public/diamond_android_0.8.zip the same? (Havent checked)
=====
Now the new points of attention are:
1. Touchscreen calibration:
I have seen people talking about a red dot in the upper left corner, I have seen it once so far and didnt notice any major miss calibration when using the dev tools > pointer locator ... the only this malfunctioning is the x inversion and that you need to double tab (or is this standard behaviour? It looks like it remembers the last pressed location). Also the onscreen keyboard is very flickery, minor issue should be easy to fix (during loading it looks like it is flickering on the readout of the touchscreen).
2. Hardware support:
Adding various support for hardware, to output sound and all other "required to call" fuctionality.
Also not forgetting to access internal memory, maybe the best workaround to loading a fully fledged Android is to make a minimal initrd to setup internal storage and from there load the rest. Should be much easier when it all gets incorporated into a ROM, instead of loading with haret ... which poses serious problems regarding initrd loading and who wants WM6x/7 on his phone anyway when Android becomes usable. Loading from haret does make working with it for now a little easier. Maybe a GRUB like approach and loading straight from a filesystem (ROM or internal storage)?
==========
Some other request:
Pointers to Android OS sources or atleast a working 1.0 (latest branch?) initrd.
==========
General tips:
Going back to desktop: insert and remove stylus.
Selecting and opening, use double tabbing and mirror x for now.
Using onscreen keyboard: havent figured it out yet sadly.

Ill try to update the post, also PLEASE people refrain yourself from posting in this thread ... let's make a good go at keeping it clean. If you do not intend to be working on getting Linux / Android to work on the Diamond and family please post somewhere else. No harsh feelings, but threads getting cluttered with "Great work!" and "wehn iz android really workn on me phone?" do mess things up by quite a bit.
DO NOT ASK FOR REQUESTS, focus is on the basics first ... input, output and storage.

Android, is a serious alternative now to Windows o/s, yes?
What are the selling points compared to windows???
Why are there not clear and concise instructions on how to install android???
Does android offer the use of the line 2 facility like 6.1?
I notice the huge Hype with the launch of the G1 phone, can someone offer some screen shots of what it looks like on the diamond please???
cheers
What???? Look I love Mobile phones, Ive bought every high end phone scince the Nokia 8800, but this is way beyond my pay grade, can you ell me how to do this? Has anyone had the idea yet to startup a directory for interested parties to be contacted to take part in trials - once its in the stage of being ready???
I would like to be considered, as i absolutely fully abuse all the facilities i have available to my via orange uk.
And do actively find the wm6.1 platform fails me seriously at times due to usage.

we agree to agree....your my new friend now
Delete this topic.
My cats breath smells like cat food.....
I see that this topic is confusing people already, this is mainly due to the fact 90% of the repliers DID NOT READ MY POST!
As I have stated before:
The basics still need to be worked on; input, output and storage.
People that only want to use Android should refrain from posting in this thread! I made this thread so digging in the old thread can be kept to a minimum, what gets added there I will try to add here too.
I just wanted to encourage people that know what they are doing with a headstart, I myself have been working with Linux since 1998 and reading the "delete this thread" posts really does not support encourage me to help you guys.
As for an example, some random programmer with a Diamond googles for Android and finds hey this might work on my phone (like happened to me) ... the next he will go trough hours of reading useless and outdated posts, not really helping you further.
Then you decide to read from the end back forward, even more useless posts are read and finaly you get a minimum set of files that works ... what now? No sources, no nothing to be found after reading beginning and end of the posts, so you decide to read the WHOLE thread and still NO progression after a full day of endless reading.
So my simple request was to summarize EVERYTHING developers can use to get started and NOT spend one day now or two/three days in the future looking at outdated posts and reinventing the wheel.
I for example did reinvent the wheel and started from the start of the thread, where I spend downloading the git sources from Andriod and started compiling ... same problem, started on output first ... framebuffer ... then I conclude lets start from the end and notice people already gotten something running ... NOT really helpful if you ask me.
So any mod, please delete all the useless posts in this thread. I have no problem with continueing in the old thread, but it will not progress us any further if its not cleaned up.
So people that only want to use Android, and have NO clue about Linux or programming PLEASE REFRAIN FROM POSTING HERE
So here is my summary of posts to be deleted:
4: Original thread is too long, doesnt help new developers start off where they should start.
5: Dont post in this thread, it will not delete WM6x.
6: Answer to post 6, dont post here unless you know what your doing.
7: Please dont formulate such questions here!
8: It does not work correctly, seams you just want to use Android and have no clue what your working with. Please do not post such questions here.
9: Please no learing here, learing can be done on other platforms.
11: It barely works, raw input and working output, some other major and minor functionallity is there but does not work correctly yet. Please dont ask these questions.
13: Trial and testing will be done trough progress, we dont need people that just want to use Android in this thread.
14: Sorry that it seems to confuse people, it is mainly due to people not knowing what this is all about and asking questions that should not be asked in the first place. Let alone they EVEN read every word here!
15: Good luck reinventing the wheel.
16: A webdesigner asking to close this topic ... not really helpful and discouraging.
17: Please remove yourself from this forum!
Thanks in advance.

Hi, I've read in the forum about possibility of dual boot, android as application, etc etc.. inside the windows 6.5 htc tp2 sprint..
BUT... and excuse me if I couldn't find it in the forum here.. but did try to do search already... HOW would I do a total wipe of my windows and turn the phone into an ALL android phone ?
is this possible? if you've seen a thread, rather than telling me to go search more.. i'd appreciate you pointing me to the right direction.
thanks very much.
I'm guessing you've been told to search before.
It is a really good idea, to do that before creating a new thread. Search the forum for several different search terms before creating a new thread.
With that said, here is the NAND boot testing thread. It's not full NAND, but it does completely rid the phone of WinMo.
A) it's not nearly as stable as the haret builds and B) the potential for bricking your phone goes from 0 to... some number that would indicate danger. Yellow?
thank you very much. actually i have not been told to seach before.. but with all that i'm reading about people bashing at those who ask questions that might be in the forum... i thought i'd put the disclaimer that i tried !
the haret builds ... that's the dual boot i assume.. are they not as a result slower and more restricted?

If anything the haret builds are probably faster - NAND tree isn't quite up to par, although the devs are working to change that. In some ways NAND gets updates before haret, there's just a lot of things to work out because WinMo initialized all the hardware for us - now we must initialize the hardware ourselves.
At any rate, that's probably not what people mean by dual-boot - usually when I hear those words, I think "Gen.Y" - not necessairly supported by XDAndroid, but a very nice addition. Please get help with that app in their thread.
Technically just throwing Android on your phone would qualify it for 'dual-boot', but typically people refer to dual-boot as the option to pick an OS when the phone (or computer) first starts. Gen.Y solves that problem, if you so desire it!
The important part starts at point 4
1. The inevitable rant:
- If it wasn´t for the Stylus I would go for the Ipad Air... Why? 16GB only - No 32 or 64 available for me - and no way to move 90% of Games and big to SD without root.
- graphics for example RealRacing3 - Graphics on Note 10.1 LTE 2014 very bad compared to ipad4 Don't get me wrong, compared with other games graphics rock... But compared to an Ipad4 they just suck.
Have both - and best comparison you get in the car selection menu. On the ipad4 I can read even the printing on the trucks in the back... on it's just a blurry paste.
- KNOX
2. Please DON´T bother to write here, if your post is plain stupid - sorry to be offensive - Android/This and other android related forums were once great, until it became big and for the masses - so it had to be dumbed down to a level where we are now with no end in sight
- If you dont know what I mean then dont post, you are one of them.
Examples:
-- Samsungs remote deactivation as theft protection sure won't be supported much longer, because dumb user support is costing carriers too much money.
-- 2 SD is not working as it should be because for dumb users it createt to much trouble so now we have the f*****g internal eMMC posing as EXTERNAL SD

But here we go:
- I want so swap external with internal SD (mostly for my games) have not found a to do this without root ( I know there isnt any )
+Is there a way without at least permanent root?
+How reliable are root-requiering options like: modyfying vold.fstab or Int2ext or others? - had sometimes trouble like dublicate files - folders - crashes after some time. Especially after reboots with those solutions on my Note 1
+What is the best root solution- maybe with hide root option (integrated or external)? so Samsung HUB (Video, Learning...) and mirroring stays usable?
But it has to work with an Internal - External SD swapping even if temporarily deactivated/hidden for the metioned Samsung stuff to work
+ Knox should / must be untouched

The important part starts at point 4
1. The inevitable rant:
- If it wasn´t for the Stylus I would go for the Ipad Air... Why? 16GB only - No 32 or 64 available for me - and no way to move 90% of Games and big to SD without root.
- Game graphics for example RealRacing3 - Graphics on Note 10.1 LTE 2014 very bad compared to ipad4 Don't get me wrong, compared with other games graphics rock... But compared to an Ipad4 they just suck.
Have both - and best comparison you get in the car selection menu. On the ipad4 I can read even the printing on the trucks in the back... on it's just a blurry paste.
- KNOX
2. Please bother to write here, if your post is plain stupid - sorry to be offensive - was once greate, until it became big and for the masses - so it had to be dumbed down to a level where we are now with no end in sight
-- permissions - soon we will have no way to change them and shut down spying features of - for example torchlight needing full internet access and contacts - thanks to dumb users

SIR - reading through your last 50 posts on this forum - you belong to the group I asked not to post here
Most of your posts are for the sake of typing somewhat
EDIT actually your posts are at times quite good - but still lots of stuff that didnt need to be
remember android forums years back - there was hardly useless stuff... you had a problem the solution was somewhre... if it wasnt it was answered in threads with max 10 posts... 90% just usefull stuff--- nowerdays 90% useless answers
the more useless answers appear the harder it is for intelligent newcommers to read through all the stuff, to get to the point/solution.
stupid people see tons of posts/threads... dont bother searching and start own threads or even start answering cause it seems to be normal to write stuff just for the writings sake
I am asking about the best solution that is actually working without causing too many problems - There are multiple threads here with solutions
but
A not working with both
B user experiences are not good
C Could/Should be what I am looking for but no user experience posted because - forgotten about - thread title/tags not correct
Not all apps are able to be put on the sd card without root but some are, go to : settings , general tab, down to application manager, swipe over to SD card then checkmark apps.
Samsung hub you go can put music/movies by going to that app and settings menu button then choose ext SD for storage.

WTF no stupid useless answers please this is XDA DEVELOPERS not some thread for users that cant wipe their own ass and dont know the rudimentary stuff!
Or did my question sound like I couldnt wipe my ass?
Do you have rooted and disabled root temporarily to use Learning / Video Hub?
Did the temporary unroot cause problems with Folder Mount / Directory Bind / modyfying vold.fstab or Int2ext?
Does Chainfires hideroot work in a way that Learning/ Video hub is not affected? or is there any other possibility to hide root that is working?
For the Note1 and old 10.1 it took almost half a year to make all this work... seems Note 3 and Note 10.1 2014 are doomed because more and more stupid users come to this forum/ Android in general and devs are just not willing to keep up with all the bulls**t here.
SORRY for being offensive... but you all know I am right

No comment on the ass wipery.
On point 1 though, hasn't it been well documented that apps (games) aren't optimised for this tablet yet? Which would explain why they look "blurrier" on this tablet compared to the ipad. Even though this tablet actuallly has higher resolution. Almost certainly its a fault with the app.
Now I would wait for you to randomly shout abuse, but I doubt I'll bother reading this thread again, so go for it.
Asking for help while insulting people seems like a bold strategy. I hope it works out for you.
Development for a Knox-free root for the WiFi model; you need to understand people do this for FREE or by donation. If you're so impatient, I recommend you either learn how to do it yourself (see how hard it is) or donate and wait patiently for a kind developer to do it for you. I don't know why you would have bought this tablet fully knowing about Knox, and needing to root to move your games to SD. Calling everyone else stupid is childish, grow up.
Also, you can still root, it's not like its impossible. So what you void your warranty, you get what you want if it's that important to you.
I didn't buy this tablet over an iPad because of games and tablet optimization. If that was of importance immediately I would have bought an iPad. You have to understand that this tablet is one of a handful of tablets that has this high of a resolution. Until there is more supporting hardware on the market (next year) you will likely not see too many apps / games taking full advantage of the higher resolution.
I bought this tablet for the fact I will likely have it for 3-4 years and I see Android quickly catching up to Apple in the tablet space within a year. I'll take improved hardware and future support for it as a positive, not a negative. Game developers will come around to optimizing soon, as will a Knox-free root.
Go yell at Samsung for KNOX, or for their warranty policy, but not developers who are doing you a service.

optimised? Android? Well you know how far optimization can go for android devices... just look at all games that are available for ios and android (including the tegra optimized stuff... its like comparing xbox360(Aandroid) games to xbox one(iOS) games the difference in graphics quality is huge...
reasons... not cost effective - profitable (much more android users are downloading cracked apps then iOS users)
Android will stay in that matter always far behind iOS

I have the 605 LTE ... who even bothers buying a WIFI version - just my oppinion
I can wait ... I will wait... what this tread was for, were user experiences... what is working and what is not working... to save me time and others who want the same to read quickly through this thread what is possible and what not...
BUT it seems even this thread is becomming like every other one... everybody is writing some bull**** just for the sake of typing
IF someone comes here to write his/hers experience it maybe full of useless posts as 90% of this forum
Hard to find a solution even if searching hard...
pointless maybe for someone to answer because of all the pointless stuff alredy posted
FOR GODS SAKE:
if you have tried some of the stuff please post your experience
If and how it was working or if we should wait.
If you know any other way not mentioned (but I think I have covered all possible solutions please share it

I know your seeking an answer to a problem........ I truly try to help people and question do need to be asked.
I agree that 90% of what is written does not need to be.
I'm also sick and tired of posts like this "My tablet stopped working after I rooted, need help"
The OP does not give any details on the original post and it takes 15 post to get out of them (info that should have been in the first post) what exactly is wrong, what model number they have, what firmware build number they have, are they rooted, what version of Odin they are using, what recovery version they have installed. Sometimes when you ask these questions you get half of the information and have to ask again. Posters install custom firmware without reading the complete post by the developer explaining what they need and exactly how to do it, they don't follow the directions and you have to point out there errors.
So I can see your anger about posters and postings but your anger and cockiness is uncalled for......
Good luck with your search, I hope you find an answer that suits you.
Please don't reply to this post as it will contradict your rude point.
I think I see your issue and might know a solution, Flyer.michael.
First, you seem to be looking for a 0x0 Knox root. See below, as I think this method will work for the 605 LTE model:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2501700
Second, you wanted some kind of apps to SD option. Looks like there are some options on the Play Store, but you might want to look into this one:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.droidsail.dsapp2sd
This requires root, but it seems like you can move / link apps to your SD as needed. Again, not sure if this is what you were looking for but it might be worth a shot if you're rooted, not sure if this even refers to what you were wanting. I did read on some other forums that Samsung has some issues with Apps 2 SD and it may be a bigger problem than can be fixed with a root method.
Lastly it looked like game resolution was disappointing for you. You might be able to try one of the following:
1. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2329080 ---- This option might not be what you were wanting, as it causes some other issues.
2. http://liliputing.com/2013/01/chang...-enable-tablet-apps-on-a-phone-root-only.html ---- Xposed has a module Xposed App Settings and it seems like from within that you can change the resolution on a per app basis. Maybe that will work. DPI will not effect game resolution, but the resolution change option might work. Not sure if this module works for our tablet or not... but again, worth a shot if you feel like it.
I haven't used the Xposed module on this tablet, as I refuse to root until my 600 WiFi model supports a Knox-free root method. I chose the WiFi model as I have set up an automatic bluetooth tether for data connection since I always have my phone on me. Figured it was worth saving $100.
Anyway, I hope this might help.
I don't know why you think that this attitude is acceptable in here but i have to inform you that it is not.
You are always saying about how good android world used to be, but, did you used to read posts like yours? "Useless", insulting rants??
Thread closed. Honestly, i want you to find an answer to your question but with this attitude you will get nowhere in this forum.
Please read the forum rules.
