Can't get back into Clockwork mod recovery - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have recently unlocked my bootloader, flashed the kernel with PLAY-ICS-Beta-DooMKernel-v03 and installed MarkphytonsFinal_ICS. I can't seem however to get back to clockworkmod recovery. It just hangs and the DoomKernel screen.
Any help on how to boot into recovery or reverse the process will be highly appreciated.
P.S: I am a noob at this stuff.
Thanks in advance.

you install doomkernel ics using fastboot?
install MarkphytonsFinal_ICS using cwm?
trying to help...
edit:
did you press back button when phone vibrates or led color is blue at the doomkernel boot screen

hm... tried that but it just boots the phone normally.
tried just pressing and holding "BACK" and consecutively pressing "BACK" to no avail.
Have you installed cwm from market then installed into phone.
What I mean is cwm has a 2 stage install 1 install app
2 open app and then click install on to phone.
The shut down menu will not show reboot option. you have to shut down then restart manually when you see sony logo press/spam the back button constantly until cwn loads, if this not work try using down volume button again spam/ pressing continually

make sure that CWM is installed correctly
On xperia Arc S you need to press a few times the VolumeUp and VolumeDown buttons as soon as you see the FreeXperia logo. You'll notice that the led becomes violet when you're entering into recovery mode.
got it working, guys.
downloaded Xperia CWM Auto-Installer from market and worked like a charm.
thanks for all the help.

works great
First you'll need a rooted and CWM supported kernel. Shut down the device. Press the power button and wait. When the boot logo came wait for a little vibration. Then press the Back or Volume Down button several times. There you go. You're in Clock Work Mode Recovery.

Flash old kernel from 5/2015 build, then make a factory reset, then flash new kernel.

Stuck on Sony Logo (help please)

Hi I think I have bricked my phone, and I am looking for some help please I rooted and intalled CWM on a unlocked bootloader Xperia Arc S lt18i
This morning I flashed Beautiful ics 4.2.1 via CWM after doing all the wipes date, cache, dalvik, battery and then installed the rom.
When my phone came back on no led lights flashed and the sony logo is stuck on the screen. I have tried going in to recovery by holing down power button and pressing the volume down button but it doesn't work. I have tried connecting phone to my laptop but it doesn't see it any more.
I don't know what else to try,
Any help please.
Best install stock firmware by using Flashtool (or flash custom kernel so you have root already) and start all over again.
Be sure you wipe everything before flashing a new rom.

[Q] Can't boot into CWM recovery X-parts

Hey guys, I'm looking to install a custom kernal and roms, but am having trouble booting into recovery. i am on a r800x rooted with unlocked bootloader. i used X-parts to install CWM, which said it was successful, but when i choose the option to reboot into recovery it just won't do it. Any help would be much appreciated!
First what version did you use to install it... If you used the latest then try to use version 5 or below... Also when you try to go into recovery use the reboot option in the power menu. Don't forget to hit the volume down when you see the blue light while on the kernel logo.

[Q] Xperia S CWM black screen

Hi,
I have a Xperia S and have unlocked the bootloader and rooted. I then used RecoverX to put CWM on. Then when I try to boot in to recovery (tapping sony logo as it boots), the screen goes black and nothing happens.
Anyone got any ideas?
Note that if I don't tap to go in to recovery the phone boots fine.
Cheers,
Iain

Go to flash boot and reflash kernel either TWRP or CWM. This should resolve the issue.

So if I flash a new kernel I can load in to that and then use it to load any ROM? Can you recomend a particular kernel? I've looked at some of the ones linked from the roll up and it's all a bit confusing to me - they all seem to say they are only for this rom or that rom.
Try doomkernel....http://d-h.st/qE0

Must be a problem with the recovery.. use sony emma flashtool to flash Advanced stock kernel for your firmware... check if your firmware is .200 or .211 or .96.. go to this link to download kernel..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302393
check your firmware and download the appropriate kernel.. and flash via flashtool.. in fastboot mode.. and after flashing.. reboot and an amber light will show up on your notification light, then press volume + several times to enter CWM.. (just follow the steps in the link)
Good Luck..!! :fingers-crossed:
Hit thanks if I helped..
