I've noticed that my phone only charges at 450ma (according to Battery Monitor Widget) through the AC outlet. The charger being used is the OEM one that came with the phoen and it should be capable of 1000ma. Anyone else notice this slow charge?

Wish mine did, cause when it charges at 1000, it causes touch screen issues

Mine says 450/1500 which seems like a load of crap to me. Sure, I might have it plugged into a 1500mAh adapter (the one that came with my nook), but, if it were charging at less than half of the capacity of it's stock charger I don't think it would be possible to charge this thing up as quickly as I do...it's not fast, but, it's not slow...it's certainly not usb-charging slow.
usb port charges at a max of 500ma and with my evo 4g, it woudl charge ~450ma'ish with usb port charging and 900ma with ac charging. so this kind sucks that the charging maxes out at 450ma, but at least the battery lasts longer than my evo 4g.

I don't for a second actually believe that it is charging at only 450ma. It charges to 100% only a little slower than my E3D did. I've chalked this up to the battery being a hair bigger and the charging rate it's nowhere near as aggressive the closer to 100% you get.
Has anyone had any success with Quick Charge 2.0 on the VZW M9? I have the Tenergy Fast Charger, and it makes a slight difference, but the charging is not all that fast (averaging barely over 1% per minute). Yet, there's an Amazon review of the charger specifically praising its speed on the M9, and I see in the general One (M9) Accessories forum that others have found great success with Quick Charge 2.0 capable chargers.
This makes me wonder if VZW has somehow limited charging speeds on this phone. Or have some of you found success with fast charging? If so, what charger are you using?
I use the anker 40w 5 port iq charger, search that on amazon. I could not be more satisifed with how fast my phone charges (considering today's technology of course)

Yes, that is a very nice charger, though it is not actually a QC 2.0 charger. I think that is it's normal price too even though it claims to be on sale.
HTC 2.0 QC works great on my m9 got it right from HTC.com
So does the moto one as my wife uses that on her m9
As long as it says Qualcom Quick charge 2.0 on it you should be fine. I can get from 30% to full in a half hour or so. :good:
I have the Qualcom quickcharge 2.0 charger but use the stock cables that came with the phone. They aren't very well made and I have issues with my phone showing slow charge at times randomly. Can anyone recommend a good, heavy duty cable to replace the stock cable?

I found these AnkerĀ® [5-Pack] Premium Micro USB Cables in Assorted Lengths (3ft, 6ft, 1ft) High Speed USB 2.0 A Male to Micro B Sync and Charge Cables (Black)
They seem to be getting the best reviews.
Works perfect..only thing I notice is when I plug it in.phone begins to lag,I swipe screen and it seems touch sensitivity in not responding well. Then I remove charger and sensitivity is back to normal.this happens regardless if charger is plug to wall or not.
My quick charge works from the car adapter but here are stats for the wall adapter

Got the Aukey QC on sale for $10 on Amazon...charges 1% every 44 seconds if I leave the phone alone...very impressive (as using a 2A USB port will charge at a very respectable 1 min 20-40 secs per 1%). I still get 1% per 1 min 15 secs if I am streaming music or web surfing....so very satisfied!

Nice! I have the AC one....my car charger one I bought back when I was on my M8...forget the brand but it is pretty good but not as awesome as this one...I like the two ports...One QC and the other a 5v/2.4A one!
I actually purchased the official HTC QC 2.0 adapter and it works great. 10-100 in about 75 minutes. Expensive @ $35 tho...
My Turbo Charger charges my M9 fast. Shows 1hr and 45 min from 10% to full.

DASH charger is indeed brilliant
Love the dash charging too. Such a big improvement for me. Plug it in, do some things, return and have a phone with at least 70 percent. Hell yeah. Good if you need to leave but dont have much time for charging. Even 10 minutes give you an enormous boost. Never want to miss that ^^
btw where can i rate this thread from the xda app??
i know its a silly Q but if i use a regular USB C cable , will the charge speeds be v slow or just a small % down
This dash charge is a real thing! 2-3 minutes gives you about 8-10%

The cable and brick are dope too indeed
EDIT
Exactly 1 hour 20 minutes from 0 to 100%, proved with a stopwatch

Because of the fact that the adapter is the one that gives you much or less ampere i would say it does not depend on the cable. I.e. when i plug in the usb c cable from 1+ into my tablet adapter that has 2.5 Ampere Output im not on dash charging. It charges normal. The 1+ Adapter does have an output of 4 Ampere, so it gives you the Dash Charging.
So i would say the cable from 1+ IS a normal Usb c cable. (anyone proves me wrong??)
Greetings
Love the dash charge
Dash charge is great. Charge up my phone super fast. Love it.
DASH is definitely great in comparison to QC 2.0 and 3.0. I'm just concerned about battery durability since the battery is not easily removable.
On the ampere app the max input current I noticed was at 3510mA, which is pretty insane.
All in all, awesome technology.

Never touched a wireless charging thing. from my knowledge i would say it depends on the wireless protocol how fast it charges.
i can't give you any hints if wireless charging is better/faster then dash charging
there are also differences in dash/fast charging. look to other publisher like Huawei or zte. they have different charging times and what you get out of it in you battery.
Now i consider buying this one hahaha
Dash charging is genius. Letting my phone charge after work right now. Picked it up and it was stone cold. Love that. Left it on for onky 20 minutes and i got my 40% juice back easily. Its just great. I love this phone wholeheartedly.
The speed my phone charges at is insane. 30 min and I have at least 60% more battery.
Dash charging works great and overall charging speed is fine.

Wireless charging is more of a gimmick than anything else, it's much less effective and charging currency is about 200-400 milli amps per coil, so at best your can reach about 1 amp with a triple coil charger. ?
Actually, a single coil charger won't even trigger charging on this phone, tried it and it gives up on charging in like 0.2 seconds. ?

hi guys,
i have two chargers,
1. output 9.0V 1.67A or 5.0V 2.0A
2. output 5.2V 2.4A
and a usb-c cable, in the cable box i find that this cable is supporting for fast charging and support to 2.4A but when i tried it with the two chargers, and test it using 'ampere' app i got max to 1010mA with both chargers adapter ! even with this value i feel it charging my mobile quickly, and in the bottom of the lock screen i see 'charging rapidly' but i want more and why the phone is not charged depending on the values in the chargers (1.67A - 2.0A - 2.4A) and cable (2.4A)
The P2XL charger is 9V, 2A or 5V, 3A. Your amperage values are too low, which may explain why you're not charging as quickly as you should be. The solution: get a charger that equals or exceeds the stock charger ratings.
You realize slow charging is better for the long-term life of the battery, right?

Considering we often get new phones every 2-3 years, you won't see much of a degradation from rapid/fast charging.
Rather, you'll see a degradation from charging from <15% to 100% (which people do often). That will be a more significant reason someones battery will lose much off its lifespan.
I wish Android would have a built in limiter. I'm sure in the next few years, both iOS and Android will.

After seeing this I checked accubattery and it also says mine normally charges between 700 - 1010 mah also. I didn't even think about fast charging, I don't have the original charger but I have other "fast chargers" that don't seem to be doing their job either.

There's nothing I can help you guys with. All I can tell you is what ratings your charger should have, based upon the information printed on the pair of chargers I received with my device when I purchased it directly from Google. If you have a genuine Google charger and the P2XL is still not charging fast, contact Google.

I thought that charging capped out at roughly 1000 mA when the screen is on to protect the battery from overheating/putting too much strain on it. Which could lead to degradation of the battery. That would explain why you only see 1010 mA on Ampere - because the screen is on. I don't think Ampere measures while the screen is off, so it is difficult to say what value it would be giving you.
That is my experience even using the stock charger that came with the phone.

There is one other thing that you must also have. The Pixel does NOT support Qualcomm Fast Charging. It uses Power Delivery, not Quickcharge Technology. So if you have a charger that is labeled QuickCharge or a Moto Turbo Charger you will NOT get fast charging from these units. It has to be a Power Delivery charger with a USB C port and the cable must be USB-IF certified. If you don't have all of that then you don't get a fast charge.

That makes sense then, it seems like everything gets more complicated every year.
I just purchased one of these from Amazon. Note that it supports Power Delivery 3.0. This unit quick charges my phone. The Moto Charger I have for my old Moto G5+ which is a Qualcomm charger will charge the phone but only at slow speeds.

Hi!
I have change my pixel 2 XL to buy OP 9 Pro. I charged P2XL with 5V/1A at night, so don't how much time stay charging.
Now I have read and Wrap charge uses 10V (OP9 Pro has a dual battery) and 6,6A but I wanted to charge it slowly. Do yo know it is correct to use an 5V/3A charger? (For exemple the P2XL original charger). I know that 5V/1A is too low for this OP.
Thanks!

You can use even slower charging, like the USB power from your laptop, starting with USB 3, which is 5V and 900mA (4,5W). USB 2 with 2,5W needs way longer to charge your 4,5 Ah battery.
A charger with 5V and 3A is fine, the max current could be cut down a bit by the phone, I didn't test it with a charger. Therefore you can use your P2XL charger.
Frankly, charging with 4,5W (USB 3) is fast enough, if you have your phone right next to your laptop all day. It chargers while I am using it and when it reaches 80%, tasker drops a notification and popup. Charging done.
I just got mine. Charged with 65w wall charger 0 to 100% in a little more than 25 minutes, (i did not noted the exact time). With the phone off.
Thank you for your replies!
I am many times with computer, really it's a good option to charge it at 0,9A. I have a some Chromecast's chargers at 5V/1A too.
If 5V/0,9-1A is correct, I think that only will use chargers of P2XL and OP9Pro when I need to charge in few minutes...
Thanks again!
