CM7 wifi issue - Defy General

hello friends...
I am using cm7 2.3.5 RC 1.5 jorden
and i am facing serious wifi trouble. while I use wifi , it suddenly stops working. I somewhere see on the internet that ' forgot the connection and again connect it' . I tried that also but nothing works. It stops again and again. And sometimes it works good but after two hours it again turn off.
I dont know why this happening seriously and please if anybody knows the solution then help. Because of this problem I am thinking to go back to my original stock ROM.

I suggest upgrading to a somewhat recent version, e. g. 7.2 stable or the latest version of my builds) first before reverting to stock. The build you're using is pretty dated.

I have the same problem. My Arc S connects to my router and everything works for some time. Suddenly, while surfing or facebooking, the information isn't loading any more even when the phone says its still connected. WiFi-Icon in statusbar is still active. Only way to reconnect is to turn WiFi off and on again.
I tried the WiFi-fix application for ICS which was mentioned in some threads on xda but it didn't help.
Stock ICS 4.0.4 firmware, baseband 72, stock kernel from ICS 4.0.4

Only for about a half hour, then the problem happens again.
Edit: Not a half hour, every 10 minutes or less.
Then it looks like some app or service is interfering with wifi.. Do you have any network related apps installed? (lik vpn or tethering apps or something lik that)

Are you using the 4.0.4 FR version? If so, try flashing another version of ICS like the Mobitel Slovenia version.
The wifi reportedly works better in this version.
Swyped from my SE Xperia arc (LT15i) using Tapatalk 2
No I'm using the Slovenian version.
I had the problem with official 4.0.3, leaked 4.0.4 and now official Slovenian 4.0.4.

The wifi problem in ICS is reported by many!
Please wait with patience for Sony to solve the problem or till someone comes up with a fix!

I have this exact same mentioned problem on my galax s3 and 4.0.4.
Really would like a fix soon, glad its a common problem should get some more attention.
I'm on a belkin router and connect to the apple time capsule.
What I have found is the main network in my household is Home which is hidden, and has added security and this problem occurs. And then we have a second network that isn't hidden for guests and visitors, when I connect to it I havn't experienced the problem. So are the others with the problem connecting to a hidden network? Maybe ICS looses the hidden networks or something.
I had the same problem on my Neo V! I solved it by switching my WI-Fi router to b\g mode! and since that I don`t have any problems)))
P.s. Sorry for my bad english((

WiFi unstable in any of the ICS/JB

Problem: I am using my laptop (using office network) with windows 7 as a WiFi hotspot for my mobile. It connects and works till my phone is on display, if my phone display goes off then WiFi get disconnects and I need to turn of and on again in my phone to get connected.
This is happening only in all ICS/JB ROM's i have tried. Normal WiFi hotspot with modem works well.
It works very good with GB ROM's.
Any solution on this issue is much appreciated... I mean the ROM developers consider this and implement a solution to help.
Thanks....

Setting
This is a setting in most ICS/JB roms : Settings > Wifi > Advanced > Enable Wifi during sleep
Mind though that in ICS/JB there are sometimes issues with data and/or Wifi. This might be a bug in the used ISC rom. Did you try different ICS roms ?

HTC One X, AOKP ICS 3.5.1 Wi-Fi disconnecting

Hi,
I have AOKP ICS 3.5.1 ROM with franco r21 kernel installed on my HTC One X and I am having no end of problems with Wi-Fi. It will connect fine but then disconnects a few minutes later and I need to toggle Wi-Fi to get it working again.
Any ideas what to try? I don't really want to play around with ROMs again as I have everything just right and I have a decent battery life sorted now with DeepSleep. It seems that it's a common issue looking on forums but not sure if it's ever been resolved.
By the way, I don't really want to go to ICJ 4.x as I don't like Android 4.2....
Help?
Alex
Any ideas anyone? It seems to be more stable but still keeps connected when it wants to...
Use the stock kernel and it should work.

It's a bit hard to say, you have to experiment.
Try stock kernel (NCX).

Thanks for the responses, guys. When installing franco kernel, I flashed some modules in. Can I leave these or do I have to uninstall them somehow?

[Q] Possible WiFi problem with VanillaICS by demo3827

So, my fiance has the HTC One V CDMA on Virgin Mobile USA. I recently flashed demo demo3827's Vanilla ICS rom with the [email protected]#1PREEMPT kernel. When I first booted up, after I did a full wipe, installed the ROM, flashed the kernel and then flashed the boot.img in fastboot, I thought the wifi was broken because the wifi signal bars were grey. I know this is a common problem when the kernel is improperly flashed. So I tried reflashing the kernel and the ROM many times until I decided to test the wifi. I put it in airplane mode, made sure data was completely off and then turned wifi on and connected. I was able to browse the web just fine. I even speedtested and I got speeds that were definitely on par with wifi, not 3G.
Anyway, the wifi bars are still grey but I have have wifi. Is this okay? Is this something anyone else has experienced?
R: [Q] Possible WiFi problem with VanillaICS by demo3827
It could be a graphic glitch ,if it works then don't worry

[Q] Wi-Fi / Mobile Data Issue - ICS/JB ROMs

Hi!
I've installed several custom ROMs on my Wildfire S. Jelly King, JellyFish, Marvellous, Sense 5, Speed Droid, MIUI, Paranoid Android, CM10 Nightlies, and other ones that now I forgot. On each one of them I have the same issue: When I turn the phone's screen off, after a while (sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes 10 or 15), Wi-Fi connection stops working, I stop receiving messages (WhatsApp, Facebook, GTalk, etc). If I turn on the screen, the notification bar shows that Wi-Fi is online and working, but it's not, i.e. I open GTalk and it's disconnected, I open a website and have connection error. I have to wait or turn it off and then on again in order to get Wi-Fi working again. On every ROM I tried I checked the Wi-Fi always connected option to be selected, so that's not the solution. I also tried various"keep wifi alive" apps, and no luck. Same thing happens with Mobile Data.
With stock ROMs, everything works perfect.
My radio version is the latest available (Radio_47.23g.35.3038H_7.57.39.15M), I updated it a few months ago. My original stock ROM was 1.76 version (Brightstar Personal, Argentina).
I want to know if this is a common error or if I'm having something wrong and it can be solved. I'd really appreciate any help to get rid of this trouble.
Thanks in advance!!

Yes, I think Mobile Data bug is one of the most important bugs of JB roms too, and It's usually ignored.
I have to try WeFi Pro for some hours or a day to say if it works or not. So tomorrow there'll be news
Tried WeFi Pro for a day, once or twice I lost connection as always. What could be done to solve this? I'm a developer but never touched nothing android related, maybe something can be done with source code.
Strange using this app I didn't had any issues...
