I DO NOT want to use my computer with any command stuff.
My bootloader is unlocked and i have stock recovery.
I tried with all the driver stuff very very confusing. My phone is not even showing up anymore on my computer.
(TOO complicated)
Why can't i just do the same thing with other Samsung Phones-Drag root into system storage then just flash.Easy.

My recovery shows an android with a red triangle...

why did they make it sooo hard
In your case I would say just go get a toolkit and use that. There is no way, where you are at, to root your device. You NEED to flash a custom recovery which cannot be done on anything other than a computer to root your device.
Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1614827
The toolkit includes device drivers and will do basically anything you need it to do.

It's really not that hard, actually only a couple commands and pushing some buttons on your phone.
*Plug In Phone*
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot oem unlock
*Volume up* *Power Button*
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery Recovery.img
*Volume Down* *Volume Down* *Power Button*
Install Zip from SD Card - SuperSU.zip.
Reboot.
Done. Takes at most 10 minutes.

Odin isn't used on Nexus devices (as far as I know.) They use the Android standard, which is fastboot.
fastboot oem unlock
That's the command to unlock your bootloader. Be aware, it'll wipe your phone (security measure.)

ODIN actually is built into the device, but I think is actually more complicated than just using fastboot.

If that's all you want to do is root & leave your device on stock you can just temporarily boot a custom recovery & flash the super user.

Are you rooted? If you arent, you should be able to get the update straight from google because you won't be able to flash it without your phone being rooted and also without a custom recovery. Do you have cwm or twrp?
If you have the official zip from Google, you can use thishttp://rootzwiki.com/topic/13819-how-tovzw-return-to-factory-state-unroot-and-relock/ as a guide. You'll have to change the file names, but it's a start.

Since the user is not knowlegable, I suggest wugfresh's toolkit because its a one-click thing.
*if you are rooted
You just plug your phone in and click flash stock + unroot. This will download the newest firmware and also put into your device for you. Also use the OEM lock if you don't went to be rooted anymore.

It goes into fastboot mode by itself. Or do you mean that ADB is not found?
If ADB is not found then go to settings > about phone > and tap build number 7 times
Then hit back and go into developers options and tick android debugging and try it again.
An alternative way is to power your phone OFF and click volume up + volume down + power button all at the same time! This will put it into fastboot mode and when you plug in your phone and click unroot device, instead of having device is on/normal, have the other option ticked instead

All ROMs have their advantages. Now it depends on what you are looking for.
If you are looking for performance, I would suggest Vanir, AOSPA, Rubik
If you are looking for visual customizations then CM, AOKP are awesome
You will also find more ROMs which are a combination of 2 or more ROMs.
Just go through: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1339
Choose something, flash it!
Since every phone is unique, you will have to fins the "best ROM" yourself!
Happy flashing bud!
I recently got the Xperia S {No SD Card Slot, 32gb internal Storage}
I know it may sound silly, but could someone point me in the right direction for Flashing and Rooting this, what what's the best Rom/Kernal/Recovery Menu for this awesome device?
Just want to say, I do have experience on flashing stuff, installing roms ect
Just wondering what tools are needed to Root and Flash this thing
Thanks All!
this is the xS index for tutorials and guides and everything in between
regarding the part about best rom, you're always gonna receive a biased opinion on that coz that pretty much boils down to user preference

Check first: *#*#SERVICE#*#* >>service info>>configuration
if it says Bootloader unlocked allowed=yes then try as explained below ! It will definitely works !
I suggest you to first unlock your bootloader via the easy tool described at here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1560613
then flash the Doomkernel with the flashtool booting at fastboot mode. Before doing that never forget to install the necessary drivers.
The kernel is preloaded with custom recovery CWM and TWRP. While booting when you see doom logo pressing at 'vol +' you'll get CWM and pressing at camera button you'll get TWRP.
And flash the su and busybox package via recovery (CWM or TWRP)
for flashtool http://androxyde.github.io/
for kernel and su & busybox package: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2305591
& then enjoy Rooted jelly bean

Read the tuto dude. it works for me when i was bricked my phone. Need Windows. Remember to try method 2, it is all in one, the program makes all work.
Best Regards.
I'm having a problem with my nexus 5x. Yesterday, I decided I would factory restore my nexus from it being custom ROMd. I booted it into fastboot mode and relocked the bootloader, which wiped all the data. Then, when I went to flash the nought factory image, CMD and fastboot kept telling me my device is locked and I cannot flash to it. Because I locked the bootloader when the custom rom was still on it, it wont start up. I've downloaded older marshmallow builds from google too but they all give the same messages when flashing any of the files, including running the flash all command, saying that my device is locked and I cannot flash to it. Can anyone please help?
Jeez man! Locking the bootloader is the very last thing you do - if you do it at all because there's no good reason for it!
Cross my fingers: Do you have stock recovery installed?
If yes, you can adb sideload a OTA image.
If no, you're toast

Not toast. @arx160le would only have to flash the TOT to get it working again. He could do that regardless if he didn't feel like sideloading.

Follow the same guide that was just posted above. It's the only fix. Make sure you install all the drivers and boot the phone into download mode.
Windows tends to be a bugger sometimes when it comes to driver installs. My business laptop has 7 professional, my personal laptop has Windows 10. I never know which one will load the drivers I need.
You might just want to try a different computer if one is available. Or you could just delete any LG drivers you already have loaded and start fresh.
Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Tried looking through threads and have spent all day trying to fix it.
Phone was working fine a couple days ago until it ran out of battery. Since then nothing.
If I try to turn on normally I get stuck on the Google screen. Only other thing I can do is boot into fastboot/bootloader but from there, if I try Recovery mode it sticks in a bootloop
I think you have a hardbrick bootloop, There is fortunately a kernel and recovery developed by developers to overcome this problem, but you'll need a unlocked bootloader as it involves flashing recovery and boot.img. If you have boot loader unlocked, go to general section where you'll find a thread regarding the same. All the best
I tried that - flashed the recovery but when I try to launch recovery mode I just get a bootloop again.
