Anyone notice that the notification led isn't very bright, compared to my x10 its not even half the brightness. Although, when i used flash tool to root/ICS, the green led lit fairly bright compared to normal operation. So far, thats my only gripe about this phone.

I'm glad its dim. Hated getting notifications at night on my Xperia S because the led was too bright.

I like it better this way. My X10 was so bright I had to leave it face down so it wouldn't wake me up.

I agree. In brightly lit rooms is barely visible. Maybe there's a mod to increase the brightness of the LED
Ok, I've found a way to increase the brightness of the LED notification:
the configuration files are in sys/class/leds/green/max_current
Changing the default value (400) to 2000 (same as Xperia S) with text editor on root explorer and the bright of the led is increased.
The problem is that rebooting the device is changing the file to default value again.
Any idea about how to fix that?
Make sure you have the same permissions on the file after you edit as they were before the edit.

Didn't make a difference for me, still reset to 400.

What file browser did you use to do that?

I was searching for a fix on Google, but seems like this is manufacturing fault or maybe they thought it shouldn't be bright because transparent bar is already too bright.
Please anyone help in fixing this issue because it is annoying to see if I have any messages or missed calls. It should be more bright! Look forward to see a fix in few days.

Here you go.
Set the LED brightness value from init.d script.
Just flash the zip through CWM recovery.

Since there isn't an LED light specifically for notifications, is there a way to make the LEDs for menu, home, back, and search light up for said notifications? It would be even better if each one lit up for specific apps so I could know why it's lighting up before I even turn on the screen.
Thanks for any help!

The closest we can get to LED notifications is BLN. You need to use a BLN compatible kernel and use the app BLN Control.

I'm trying to tweak some things on system tuner and my phone rebooted (but took a bit to turn on) my blood pressure dropped, I thought I killed my phone!
But after some reading.. it pretty much means the phone does not like those settings, change them.. right? Phone works fine now though, but I was wondering for future reference

Yeah, basically. If you are undervolting, you need to take tiny increments to make sure the phone is stable before going any further.

If you are using Samsung dock and Desk Home app, that dims the buttons after a short while. I run cm7. But that's if you are not using the phone... there is no known way to dim them if it is in use

Hmm..are these not controlled through the kernel? If they blink when activated maybe there is a way to get them to behave in inverse, like off by default and blink only when touched? I would like to see them completely disabled..wondering why this can't be accomplished..

That would be pretty awesome. I'd like to see that as a feature. I'm sure it would help save some battery, and you can *never* have too much battery
Have you suggested that to any of the kernel devs?

On ICS I was using light flow to customize the colors and events triggering the LED. I used blue for SMS. Now that I've ported to JB and restored my apps and their settings using Titanium Backup anytime after getting SMS and reading it, the LED keeps blinking blue but only when the screen is off. Didn't happen on ICS. What do I do? Or is this a ROM specific issue?

The led only blinks when the screen is off. It DOES do that in ICS. That's how it's supposed to be
I would delete light flow and re install bc in their last update they fixed that issue for jb

It didn't do it for me back on ICS. In fact the LED didn't work at all, that's why I installed Light Flow in the first place. On JB the problem is that it still blinks even after reading the message as if there was another message to read. A phone reboot fixes it.

LightFlow is working perfectly on JB 4.1.1 download it man!
Is there a way to change the notification led when i get a message or missed call? Ive tied light flow and other apps buy nothing works. Btw my OG is reported
SPRINT has a habbit of having their phones built with 2 color LED's red/green. The Nexus has multis but I believe we got left out of the fun with our OG's. Maybe somebody else knows other wise but I have been unsuccesful and am sure this is the case
My HTC Hero had a single (white) color roller ball but other heros built for other companies had the multi color rollers for instance.

I mentioned this same problem earlier. No fix that I can find, though I'd definitely throw some $ towards someone finding a way to make the notification led flash faster, even if it requires root

Rooted with esFileExplorer
Open /system/etc/system.xml
Change notification_light_pulse from 0 to 1.

Today morning when I woke up I found a new way to make LED glow brighter
Using Root Explorer go to system/etc/pre_hw_config.sh
open the file with text editor and write the following code in it (change only the last three lines)
echo 7000 > $dev/red/max_current
echo 7000 > $dev/green/max_current
echo 7000 > $dev/blue/max_current
save the file and reboot...
now go to service Menu and test your LED.. See the difference...
Press thanks If I helped you :fingers-crossed:
Yes it is the same but I don't find it working in my phone so I made a mod by myself.
I am Using Xperia ion Lt28h [ICS 6.1.E.2.68]
Is it working in Xperia SL ??
HI , will this work for xperia SL 2?
This worked great. I changed the numbers to 20000 and it's so much brighter! Can we also make other colors brighter?
Yes but I could find only red blue and green LED bright, i think the rest will get brighter automatically as the rest of the colours are made by the combination of those three main colours
