+1 not sure how you would find out the original name exactly
In future if you need to rename keep the original name there and just add something to the end of it

You don't necessarily need the original name; you can call it whatever you want, the failure is because the file name contains a space. Rename it to remove the spaces and it will work fine.

yep, like goku said , it has to be what ur phone was running before. if it doesnt match, worst you can do is download an ruu and extract to find boot.img...but thatll be a pain. dont reckon ull ever need to go back to stock though, there is always a better rom around the corner

i don't think that you can flash a different phone's nandroid backup, there are many variables that change from a phone to another

Hi, could you send me a link for this backup if you still have it? Trying to get back to TMOB005 stock
Much appreciated!
Hi.
I also need the 2.17.110.5 RUU, as I'm trying to get back to stock rom from Cyanogenmod, as I want to install Jelly Bean OTA (TMobile just released it a week or so ago).
In the absence of that, I downloaded the Nandroid backup....however I'm having problems installing from Nandroid backups.
Here's what I've done:
Flashed the boot.img from the zip/rar file. (seemed to work fine)
Went into recovery in HBOOT.
Tried to recover from the ZIP, and it failed.
Is there something I'm missing here? (sorry, very much a noob when it comes to these things!)
A nandroid backup has to be unpacked. A RUU is a single .exe file.
Download the matching nandroid backup from here . Check the cid and main version.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140
Unpack it and place it on the phones sdcard looking like this
Clockworkmod\backup\date and time folder\nandroid backup files
Flash the boot.img from the nandroid backup and enter the recovery , do a full wipe except sdcard and restore the nandroid !
When all this works you flash back the stock recovery
http://db.tt/U5CK4noo
And after that you can update the phone to JB
in case the ruu is needed you can get it from here https://www.dropbox.com/s/l6e21wodv...adio_2.1204.137U.21_release_284360_signed.exe
n1kos & Mr Hofs...thank you both very much. I'll let you know how I get on, but fingers crossed.
Worked perfectly. RUU not even required. You guys really helped a noob out there. Wish I could give you more thanks.
No problem mate ! Glad it worked !!!

I'd give 10 thanks for this one post if I could, RUU worked perfect.
I initially tried the nandroid you uploaded but when installing the JB update it would always error in recovery.
Thanks n1kos
hi,
its my first post, and i am moving from ios to android so it is not that easy so i hope i am doing this right,
all day i was looking for a way to backup my stock signed recovery.img before flashing TWRP for rooting [already unlocked bootloader],
then i searched for it and found this one [2.17.401.2] not a perfect match for my [2.17.415.2] , i remember someone was saying any 2.17 may work, is this correct and if not then i have to find a way to backup my img, and if you have ruu can this be extracted from it.
thanks

Yeah that is correct, you can install any stock rock that matches with 2.17... But if you have the correct ruu for your hox you can also extract that from it

greetings from egypt
okay so guys, I rooted my htc one v PrimoU, that worked.
I made a back up, it worked to revert to it several times while I was trying to rom my phone.
I installed a few different kernels to get the MIUI rom working and it didn't really happen so I had to revert back to the back up several times.
one time it did work, but it couldn't connect to google play and I gave up.
so I wanted to use the back up to revert back to the rooted stock rom of the htc one v primoU but it was stuck on the "HTC ONE V Quietly something something"- bootup screen thingie... any help please?
if you have any questions ask them, I'll try answering them!
You will have to also flash the boot.img found inside the backup.open the backup using win rar and extract the boot.img and flash it.

Edit: the backup I made is with the recovery menu, and in it is a folder called TWRP>BACKUPS>FA283TV00807 and the files in there, well, none of the files in there are called "boot.img" or anything... could you please help me out some more?
I wish I could show you a screenshot but the forums wont allow me to do anything untill I reach 10 posts atleast.
The files are:
And-sec.vfat.win
And-sec.vfat.win.md5
Boot.emmc.win
Boot.emmc.win.md5
cache.ext4.win
cache.ext4.win.md5
data.ext4.win
data.ext4.win.md5
recovery.emmc.win
recovery.emmc.win.md5
system.ext4.win
system.ext4.win.md5
to be even clearer,my backup is not a file, it's a folder for some reason, and in it is another folder, and another one in there... and then you see the files in that folder
the path of the folders is "TWRP>BACKUPS>FA283TV00807" with TWRP being the main folder and FA283TB00807 being the folder with all the files in it.

Make a backup, transfer it to pc,open using winrar, there you can find a file named boot.img.
I hope this will clear some things up a little bit more, the recovery menu I use is the "Team Win Recovery Project V2.3.3.0"

My phone is now as close as possible to the stock HTC ONE V rom and faster!

FYI.. Boot.emmc.win is the boot.img
So instead of fastboot flash boot boot.img
you do fastboot flash boot boot.emmc.win
boot.img needed
