S-off is not root. Misc_version is failing because you need root to edit the misc partition.
Flash superuser in recovery http://downloads.noshufou.netdna-cdn.com/superuser/Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip it will give you root access.
Make sure you obtain root permission by typing your commands while in shell mode I.e.
Code:
adb shell
su
/data/local/tmp/misc_version -s 2.18.605.3
exit
exit
So if I have the SuperSU app I'm rooted?
Edit: made it past that part, now I'm getting this error

It should be plain to see that RUUfastboot is the wrong command. Just type fastboot flash zip <name of zip file>
Edit: you also should lock your bootloader if you haven't already. As stated in a previous post.
Yes, "fastboot oem lock" then "fastboot flash zip RUU..."

The question was directed at the OP. An RUU is an exe file from which the Rom.zip could be extracted and flashed if for whatever reason, is necessary. The OP did not provide any link or reference to the file being used and an error is being displayed when attempting to flash it, so obviously something is wrong. At this point I can only assume it's an exe file that's been incorrectly named as a zip file and should be run on the PC, a zip file which contains the PXXXIMG.zip file and needs to be extracted, or a corrupt download.
If it's the latter, the OP should consider re downloading an actual RUU http://www.filefactory.com/file/c0a....01.0622_NV_VZW1.92_release_200325_signed.exe

*ps when i try to enter in cmd
adb shell it shows me the $
and su still $
when i try to open the pc10img.zip file on the pc it says corrupt or invalid any help plz
you have to re-run gfree to get s-on.
The $ shows you don't have root access, which is to be expected having flashed a stock rom.
su should've returned permission denied, again stock rom.
Invalid zip is windows explorer not being able to handle signed zips. Use 7zip

I've in my possession a VW Droid incredible 2. Beautiful phone, not mine, doesn't boot.
The boot sticks at the HTC screen. The version I assume is either 2.3.3 or 2.3.4.
I figured the best thing to do would be to flash the latest RUU which I tried. The problem is when I flash it will update the TP (1) the bootloader(3) and then do recovery (2) and stick on recovery with out an update progress bar on the tip right corner.
The phone is not S-OFF, it is not rooted, the bootloader is locked. And it is not mine. It being belongs to my friends Sylvia who hasn't touched it in months. She also doesn't mind losing Verizon ties because she will have it unlocked anyway
I'm sorry I posted but I've done ask the research I could and I've gotten nothing out of it. I'm not an incredible 2 owner my weapon of choice is an HTC Amaze.
Thanks for the help

If you want to s-off, you will want to flash the 2.3.3 ruu. I would try flashing 2.3.3 again, just make sure you check md5. Here is a link to signed RUU's
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/18873-ruu-htc-incredible-2-signed-ruus-pg32imgzip/
Just make sure its renamed to just PG32IMG.zip and place it on sdcard. If they don't want to s-off you can flash 2.3.4 too.
It won't flash any RUU s unless. Is there a way to modify an RUU not to flash the recovery...

Why didn't you do it through fastboot like it says in the op? I don't know that I still have the full ruu that the Rom was pulled from, but I'll check. You can also try a Google search of shipped roms... I think its shipped-roms.com or something similar to that.

***Wildfire S Utility***
Hi guys!
This tool will help you unlock your WildfireS (marvel) without a registration in htcdev, to install CWM, Root, or to make it back to the original factory state.
Quick Start Guide :
Because the tool works only with Hboot 1.08.0099 and 1.09.0099 you need to make sure you have the appropriate version.
Check the version of HBOOT:
Turn off the phone and run it in the boot menu (VolDown+Power) (To be able to run it successfully in fastboot,
the checkbox in Menu > Settings > Power > Fastboot must be unchecked.
On a white background you'll see something like that:
MARVEL PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.09.0099 <<< This is the version of НВООТ!
MICROP-0451
RADIO-7.57.39.10M
Install USB drivers from HTC or HTC Sync and make sure you see My HTC in Device Manager.

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Make sure Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging is checked.
Turn off all antivirus and firewalls. (For example, Dr. Web, detects non-existent viruses in the compiled files, Trojan.Radmin.26 or Trojan.AVKill.15413. This should not bother you.
After all the antivirus programs need to report somekind of activity.
Extract HTC Wildfire S Utility anywhere.
Connect the phone to the computer in charge mode and run WFSU1.0.7a_en.exe as administrator.
The tool's window appears with the necessary options:
Unlock HBOOT - (without registration in htcdev.com)
CWM Recovery - Installs CWM Recovery.
Root - (CWM Recovery is needed)
Lock HBOOT and SUPERVERSION (Locked) and Superversion (downgrade) - (use for flashing of an original ROM of your choice)
This allows you to get rid of the message "main versoin is older" after FOTA update or simply for changing to previous versions.
It also allows you to return the phone in "from the box" state.
In the process of unlocking and locking the device restarts several times in Recovery (exclamation mark in a triangle on a black background).
Do not panic, push VolumeUp + Power > fall into a recovery menu > with the volume keys choose "reboot system now" >
confirm with the Power button. Wait for the phone to reboot in fastboot and see ***LOCKED*** respectively ***UNLOCKED***.
Restart the phone. Enjoy the result.
Press the menu button only once and wait for the tools to complete their work!Tested in Win 7 64 and Win XP 32 SP3

that being said you can find the decrypted VZW M7 RUU here
you can use a cool tool called ruuveal to recrypt it if you need to RUU your device without having s-off

Found another system.img. Didn't work. The original system.img is what seems to be throwing me the error.

I didn't mean the unzip error. I meant the flashing error. The system.img is what throws it when I try to flash the RUU.

Edit: Everything BUT the system.img works. That throws me the "file too large" error.
