I'm assuming you meant ICS since there is no official jb release for this tab. See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23285307.
Also if you do mean jellybean as in cm10 its already rooted.

Hi
oops, my bad, I was looking at wrong info.
thx! for the above thread...am now rooted
Related
I'm just providing information and a link for people (like me) who want a completely stock JB ROM that is not rooted, tweaked, or messed with in any way at all. This is the stock JB that Google used for their JB nexus demonstrations.
THIS IS NOT MY WORK...I AM SIMPLY PROVIDING A LINK TO THE COMPLETELY STOCK JELLY BEAN ROM. AGAIN, THIS IS NOT MY WORK OR LINK.
ALSO, THE FILE NAME SHOWS "TAKJU" WHICH IS THE USA GALAXY NEXUS (THAT IS PURCHASED FROM GOOGLE PLAY STORE), SO I'M NOT SURE IF IT WILL WORK CORRECTLY ON ANY OTHER UNLOCKED NEXUS' (LIKE THE YAKJU). I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE YOU MAY DO TO YOUR PHONE.
Having read all the information above, here is the link:
http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager/device/maguro/developer/clockworkmod?manifest=http%3A%2F%2Fgh-pages.clockworkmod.com%2FROMManagerManifest%2Fclockworkmod.js&name=ClockworkMod&deviceName=Google%20Galaxy%20Nexus%20(GSM
I simply used the galaxy nexus toolkit (see sticky thread in this section) to unlock my phone and flash CWM (I didn't need to root), and then flashed the stock JB via CWM.
Thanks! Just unlocked, flashed the JB image and re-locked.
Now I'm (not rooted) and back to stock and locked JB!
No waiting on the OTA here!

This is the same build on the I/O Nexi. So they are all going to have to root and unlock once the OTA hits? Don't think so. It's the same version as on my Nexus 7, down to the build fingerprint.
(yes I have a Nexus 7 - bought from someone who attended I/O).

So your Nexus 7 has a takju build fingerprint?!
Interesting.
Takju is for a completely different device and will not work on a Tegra 3 device.

Thank you mate. This was what im looking for.. By the way, yes, its JRN84D.
Stock jelly beans with baseband XXLF1
Thanks guys for posting the link to the ROMs. I just finished updating mine two days ago and man this is awesome. BTW, I also flashed the baseband radio XXLF1 and it works better than XXLA2 (Australia, OPTUS network).
P.S.
Got my phone unlocked (originally yakjuxw) but is using it in OPTUS network. Now its all Jelly Bean

What makes you think that just because these are test builds pushed out to I/O devices they are going to have to be rooted and unlocked to be updated? That doesn't make any sense. Think about it:
Google supplies GNex to I/O attendees.
Google pushes out OTA to those devices for JB (no unlocking/rooting required to receive)
Why wouldn't Google later push an update for devices on pre-release JB to bring them to final release builds? What this means is that there will be two OTA files being pushed, one for IMM76K -> JRN*** and for JRN84D -> JRN***.
I have a very hard time believing Google would require I/O devices be unlocked and rooted to install the official firmware.

True, plus for OTA you have to be bone stock: stock rom, stock kernel, stock recovery, stock radio, and appropriate bootloader to be able to grab an OTA update

Well no, you can grab the OTA in most cases but without everything stock it won't install

Unlocked or relocked does not matter.
Hey guys, I'm new the the GN, so I have a question..
Right now I have the GN on AOKP and Der Kernel, I am wondering if I can update to jellybean? If I do, do I need to install a new bootloader?
Nope, just download the zip from this thread:
(assuming you have a GSM Gnexus)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737849
and you're good to go.
(flash through CWM, make sure to do a backup first, and wipe).
Nice. Thanks!
I can flash any JB roms right?

Yes, if you wish to use that rom that will work as well. Assuming your Gnexus is a GSM one.

K. Thanks!
Asked the question because I saw some other guys thread saying he installed Jellybean, and need to install a new bootloader for it to boot up.. O_O
I didnt have too, I had to install the rootfix but thats implemented in version 2 (in the link I provided to you).
Worst come worst, just restore it and install the bootloader.
But I came off aokp and had no issues.

JB comes with a new bootloader, but it isn't necessary for JB to work. People usually update the bootloader to be able to do OTA updates
Hey guys, just bought this phone off craigslist today to upgrade from my LG Revolution. I've used roms with the Revo so I'm not a total stranger. I'm wondering how to upgrade to 4.2.1, my phone doesn't seem to get the OTA update, I downloaded the zip to flash and after I flashed it in CWM it the version didn't change under my system info.
I have the verizon version. thanks!
The OTA isn't out for the Toro, the Verizon version. I think you need to do a little reading before you accidentally damage your new phone flashing something not intended for it.

Yea, I haven't started flashing any roms yet, just trying to figure out what I need to be doing/cant' do
whats the latest version thats out and how do I get it?
Latest for toro is 4.1.2. You can flash a rooted stock version or try to get the OTA notification to show up.

Google has released the 4.2.1 binaries, so now every ROM baker and their brother can put out 4.2.1 ROMs; but. . . Verizon hasn't done it yet. Their latest official GNex ROM is 4.1.1 (so there's no point in looking for an OTA update).

Ah..so I technically should be able to flash those roms and be fine even though I'm on 4.1.1?
Folks,
I have rooted by Samsung Galaxy S3 for At&T and currently run Android version 4.0.4.
I am considering upgrading my S3 to JB 4.1. Will my phone stay rooted after the upgrade. I most likely will go the official route of upgrade detailed below:
samsung.com/us/support/SupportOwnersFAQPopup.do?faq_id=FAQ00050358&fm_seq=55362
Are there any other better option to upgrade to JB 4.1?
Thanks,
Venkat

Has anyone managed to get wifi tether working on a Galaxy Nexus with 4.2.2? Since the latest update (I'm running Verizon's version), wifi tether stopped working again. I was running treve's 3.2 pre version which worked on 4.1 but not anymore. I've tried tweaking the different settings on the 11_22 mod but to no avail.
Any tips???
Rooted but stock 4.2.2 Galaxy nexus

It seems they changed something and the code will need to be updated.

This addition by mwalt did the job for me. For info purposes, I'm on a VZW GNex running mwalt's ROM (also on the same page). Don't know if this will work on any other ROM, but I'd guess that the closer to stock, the better the chance.

Thanks. I'm just waiting to hear if it will work on the stock 4.2.2 ROM.
Oh, BTW, I think the current thread for mwalt2's 4.2.2 ROM is located HERE. The Two threads linked above are for the 4.1.1 ROM.
