Blackout ICS V3 "Fully working" - no boot - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi - i've tried everything to get this ROM to boot (Ver 3.0) The md5 is correct for the zip file (downloaded it twice to be sure), i've tried overclocked, underclocked, default MHz, different themes etc etc. Did a manual full wipe + did a full wipe during instillation.... Is anyone else having the same issue ?
Thanks,
Jeff

When aroma finishes, choose "no" for reboot now and manually reboot. There was a thing or two more but don't remember. Read the last 10-15 pages.

Cheers mate - will give it a whirl now.
Jeff

Yep that does the trick - page 207 of the thread. Sorry I missed it in my search.
Hit the "home" button from 4Ext Recovery Touch to and it asks if you want to reboot. Select "no" then reboot manually.
Thanks again,
Jeff

1. Boot into recovery (4ext is required)
2. Wipe all data (Cache, Dalvik e.t.c) (or use the ARHD superwipe zip)
3. Install from SD Card
3. Go through the Aroma installer (interactive installer, allows you to customise the ROM when flashing it)
4. *IMPORTANT*: IF THE INSTALLER ASKS YOU TO REBOOT SELECT NO AND MANUALLY REBOOT FROM 4ext RECOVERY!
5. Enjoy!

It does take a while to do the initial boot cause the phone had to do some 'housekeeping' on the first boot

i did not see that i had to manually reboot the phone after installation. my phone is now stuck and cannot boot. i cannot enter recovery mode because of a faulty volume button. i used rom manager previously to enter recovery mode. what do i do?

Have you tried a battery pull? (Pull out the battery and put it back in).

Some people use a pin, carefully; others replace the volume rocker. Search for those posts.
If that doesn't work or if it will take too long, google adb and how to install it. There are plenty of tutorials for it.

I recalled that there is a way to do that with Android SDK
First, boot your phone (stuck, of course)
Connect your phone to PC by USB
Use Android SDK and type in adb command to boot into recovery
more specific details...please google

try to do a complete rom refresh (return to stock, look for my signature, there will be almost anything you will need). It happened to me, when I flashed a wrong ruu os via cwm, but after the ruu it worked like it must.
After flash the bootup can last long enough, so wait for at least 5 mins.

There is the VirginMobile/sprint RUU for the PrimoC out at the stock ruu section if you mean that.
But then again, if the phone is already rooted, a custom will be more safer, and/or reasonable and not to mention faster.

[Q] First attempt at custom ROM --> [ROM][JB] All Star Rom v6

Happy New Year
First attempt at custom ROM, heard great things about All Star Rom - going straight for the v6! Unless told not to ... LOL
Have a rooted device, with latest TWRP recovery 2.3.3.1-hercules .tar flashed.
Have v6 and All-Star 4.2 custom gapps downloaded.
Copy of instructions for reference sake:
TWRP recovery recommended!
- wipe data
- wipe system
-(Use Darkside Super wipe if still on cwm 5.0.2.7 or below)
- flash rom
- flash All-Star 4.2 gapps
- wipe cache/ dalvik cache.
- reboot and wait 10 mins
- reboot and wait 1 minute
- Grant Superuser permissions for Switchme
- set up device.
- Initiate the CPU sleeper app
- (Highly Recommended) ENJOY!
Booting into TWRP recovery,
I don't specifically have a "wipe data" option, I want to be very thorough here.
Under "Wipe" I have Cache, Dalvik Cache, Factory Reset, ... and System.
Quick answer? Thanks.
Hey, happy new years justaguy705. Nice to see you asking questions again.
To answer your question, the option where you see "Factory Reset" is the exact same as "Wipe data". Cheers!

Unless you have a recovery system already. You will need a computer to install a recovery system such as TWRP 2.3.3.0 to your phone through Odin (PC application).

Doesn't being rooted means he rooted himself via a recovery, unless he flashed stock rom again. In which it would wipe his recovery.

Make sure your phone is off and not connected to a USB cable. Press and hold the "volume up/volume down" keys and then press the power button until you feel a vibrate and the screen turns on. After that you should be in recovery mode and it will say the version you are using. If you have a CWM recovery version greater than 6.0 you should be able to flash a ROM through your phone.

To flash TWRP on to your phone and you still do not have access to a computer, you can try using the Mobile Odin app on the Play store as android88 had mentioned above (however, the app is around $5.00 if you're willing to purchase it). Otherwise, flashing the recovery system through Odin using a computer is the way to do it.

Hi,
I was able to install the CWM recovery of Y201 from the below forum on the Fusion 2 using the fastboot flashing recovery steps for Fusion2. ":/fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" with the Y201 recovery file saved in the same folder.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35908322
even tho the Y201 recovery is little slower on the Fusion2, I was able to backup the rom, install new custom roms of Y200 and restore the original carrier rom.
The y200 roms I installed and successfully booted into fusion 2 were:
1) CleanBaseRom#5.zip (same as carrier rom with out most of att junk)
2)ICS_OS_20130203.zip (same as carrier rom with ICS theme, had problem with gallery and screen would not turn on from sleep)
Didnt see much difference so restored the carrier rom back.
Hopefully this helps
Easier cwm install method!

[Q] Stuck in ClockworkMod Recovery

I reboot my 1X and it goes straight into ClockworkMod recovery, I don't even touch anything excepted Power button. If I try to reboot again, it goes straight into CWM recorvery again. I can adjust anything in CWM but can get out of it . I can turn my 1X off in Bootloader, but if i turn it on, everything is the same...
ROM: ARHD 21.0 with stock kernel
Help!
Flash CWM again and try rebooting it again.. don't forget to 'fastboot erase cache'...
Did you make any changes using terminal emulator or anything of that sort?

Arrgghhhh!!! Why do you guys want to play with Cydia when y'all don't know how to operate it?? :S
I just helped some other guy who had installed cydia. restarted... it only goes to CWM...
The only thing he could do is flash a new rom with full wipe!... I guess that's the only choice you have now!

Go to CWM>Mounts and storage>Mount USB and copy the rom file there...
Make sure you have hboot 1.31+ if you want to flash a JB rom + have bootloader unlcoked...
Edit: Make sure you have sufficient amount of battery left before you start flashing! Go to CWM and keep it on wall charger for 30 mins... just to be sure!

[Q][Need Help] Phone Won't Boot Past Splash Screen

So I was running Slimbean 6.2 weekly with ktoonez 6.8 kernel and decided to go into recovery (CWM Touch 6.0.3) to fix permissions and clear cache since I was having some battery drain issues. After I hit fix permissions it started to do so and then all of a sudden my phone rebooted and gets stuck at the splash screen. Went back into recovery to try and fix permissions again same thing happens. Tried clearing cache and doing a normal reboot still stuck at splash screen. I tried doing a factory reset but it keeps rebooting right when it gets to formatting data. So essentially I can do anything aside from format data so I am guessing there's some corrupt file there that's keeping me from formatting it. I've tried installing different ROM's that I have on my SD card but they always get stuck at the splash screen. Doing a restore doesn't work as once it gets to restoring data the phone reboots. I checked report error or something along those lines in CWM Advanced and it said can't format /emmc which I'm not sure what that means.
I've looked around but haven't been able to find any information on how to fix this. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Ok go into CWM wipe cache, wipe dalvik and do factory reset. Then flash any rom which you have on your phone storage. Does this work?

Start from scratch. Install 4.1.2 Stock and flash ROM of your choice.

You never mentioned you started over by installing 4.1.2 Stock and then tried flashing ROM again, only that you went into recovery numerous times. Download Mode and Odin to Stock is what I was getting at. Then... Flashing 4.2.2

That should clear out any and all corrupted files.

Ah I'm sorry, misunderstood what you were referring to. I haven't used Odin since I first rooted the phone a year ago. I imagine its rather self explanatory to use ?

Even better, download one of the Odin 1-clicks. Connect your phone, open the 1-click and stand back while it does its magic.
EDIT: Here http://rwilco12.com/Files/Devices/S...ooted/SPH-L710_MD4_1130792_Rooted_Restore.exe
Click that and it will start downloading. When it's finished, connect your phone while in download mode and then run the .exe
Step 2: Profit
Indeed. Odin One Click is another, and better, alternative.

downloading now to give it a shot, thanks for the quick replies
so I used the one click odin file but it didn't do anything that I can tell. All it seemed to do was check the md5 sum which came back successful and thats it. Do I need a stock rom file as well with this? Sorry for the noob questions
edit: nevermind, I didn't realize I needed to have odin up and running before connecting the phone, doh
the one click odin file worked! thank you so much for the quick replies and helping me out!
edit: this means I need to go back through the rooting process is that right?

Negative. You're rooted. Just on stock. I'd redownload all files you want to flash to be on the safe side.
