DZ call barring locked, have PUK2, where to input? - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Searched the forums and Google but found nothing.
I wanted to do some call barring and went to the settings. The phone asked for call barring password. I googled, it turned out it's supposed to be the PIN2. The default PIN2 (which I have never changed) for my operator is 1234. Didn't work. Then I tried 5678, didn't work. Then I tried 0000, didn't work and the call barring locked. Now all it says is "Invalid barring password. Locked. Please contact Customer Center."
I called HTC Finland, they said that call barring is all operator business, not theirs and that the call barring password should indeed be the PIN2. I then called my operator, they told me that if my PIN2 is locked, I need the PUK2, which they gave to me. I now have the PUK2 but where do I input it?

PIN2 is different from PIN, it's the SIM that locked, not your phone.
I met the same problem about ten or more yeas ago.
Go to the Service Center of your service provider, they can help you.

I now seriously doubt you read my post at all, so let me give you a recap:
I locked myself out of Call Barring
I called HTC, they said the Call Barring password is the PIN2
I called my service provider, they gave me the PUK2 to unlock my Call Barring password (the PIN2)
Where do I input the PUK2 to unlock the Call Barring password (the PIN2)?

P3600i - Caller ID

I was told by HTC customer service that my P3600i does not provided the choice of sending my Caller ID to be determined by "Set by Network". My P3600i has choices on "Everyone", "No One" and "Only to contacts". This is obviously different to other brand, like HP6828.
HTC CS also told me it should have third party programme installed to provide this feature.
Any suggestions?
Thank you.
I think when you change that settings, they're not changed on the device, but on the network itself, so you're alway's using network settings.
I would to add more details on ny problem:
1. I have requested the service provider to block my Caller ID at system level. And the provider confirmed the sending or not will be depended on my device. My Caller ID should not be sent unless I have prefix of 1357 at the beginning of the dailed number. It was what I did in the past.
2. If I set to "Everyone" on my P3600i, then, my Caller ID is sent. It is normal as my device should have override the system.
3. If I set to "No one" on my P3600i, then, no Caller ID at all even I used 1357 as prefix.
The "Set by System" is a very common setting on mobile handset. Even my HP 6828 PDA phone also provides. I made verbal complaint to HTC. But, I am not sure whether newer version will be provided very soon.

SIM Card Voicemail Number

I seem to have deleted my voicemail number off of my sim card. I can go into settings and add a voicemail number but if I try to I get a message like "unable to change voicemail number. If the problem persists contact your carrier." On top of that I don't want it set to my cell number because then I will have to enter my password everytime which I don't want to do. It was set to something else before. Is contacting T-mobile my only option or is there a way to retrieve and set the voicemail number again?
I set my cell phone number as the VM number but it never asks me for a password... Try it from your cell and see if you have any luck. If not, you will probably have to contact the provider.
I've always been able to just dial 123.. never prompts me for a pw.
I have been a t-mo customer for a looooong time though so I don't know if this is just something that has trickled down over the years.
if you are tmobile US the vm number is 8056377243.
that is the same number everyone on the american network has.
but what I'm wondering is, Why didn't you just call customer service? Or better yet GOOGLE it? I know it's a crazy concept but sometimes you have to think outside the box ey?

Call Forwarding - Unexpected response from network error

When I update my voicemail settings, or call forwarding, I get a "Unexpected response fron network" error message. I called my provider (Rogers) and said it appears to be correct on their system... However, it doesn't seem so because when people call me, they get forwarded to Google Voice... I already uninstalled Google Voice, and it was taken out already, however, it still forwards to there which is a USA number and I'm in Canada, so people who call me get forwarded to a long distance number and it bothers me and them so much...
Rogers told me to contact HTC but I want to hear your solutions first guys... BTW, I'm using the Virtuous ROM (which is almost entirely stock packages)
Help?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
did you use the star codes to disable call forwarding?
What are the star code? Already forgot them... heh

I was getting the same error and this worked for my desire on orange:-

"Try sending ##21# which is the network code to cancel all forwarding."
Call Forwarding Problem
I have an unlocked AT&T Atrix on Orange UK running Gingerbread. As soon as you go and look at the Call Forwarding options the phone indicates that all calls are Forwarded and the Icon top left turns on, disabling 'Foward All' shows disabled for a few seconds then comes back with the 'Unexpected reponse from network' message, although calls are not actually Forwarded (can still receive calls). Old SIM card, but OK in old V3x phone. I tried with a '3' Network SIM and all works as expected, so definitely an Orange problem with Android/Atrix. I called Orange who sent some SIM updates one of which failed, called them again and they decided to send me a new SIM but this has made no difference at all.
Only way to reset the indicator and message once on, is to enter ##21# which does the job.
Just an annoying Network bug but interested if anyone knows how to get Orange (and I guess T-Mobile) to do anything about this as it seems from other research to affect several different phone makes and models.
Same issue
I'm Having the same issue on Rogers with my Xperia ion....still ahven't sorted it out
Any Resolution to this issue? I have what appears to be an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S7 Active from ATT and attempting to use my CRICKET SIM and I get this message.

Receiving sms after a missed call

so on my previous phones, when i was out of area service(no signal) and someone called during that, i received(after gain signal) a message with lost call and their phone number.
it is possible on wildfire?
thanks in advance
I dunno about doing that phone-wise, but my carrier has the option for me to receive those

I'm pretty sure that this is a service of your carrier, so you should be able to use it on any phone.
i had the same carrier on my previous phones, so i think it's wildfire here
if i remember correctly, on nokia 5800 was a setting in sms menu, but on wildfire i can't find it.
Check whether you are still subscribed to it. They send it as a normal SMS, so I am sure it should work on any phone. It's a paid service here (Obviously, it was free before) and you have to separately subscribe to it.
thanks, but I'm very sure that i haven't unsubscribed to this or any service since i got my wildfire or before that.
Call your service provider and badger them. (lol) Alternatively, if you are sure this is a Wildfire thing, use your own SIM card on another phone and check there whether it works.
That feature is called "MISSED CALL ALERTS" and in no way it is related to wildfire. And i don't see a point which says that it won't work on wildfire. It is just like receiving text message (lol).
It is entirely a service provider thing. Ask your service provider for MISSED CALL ALERTS (MCA).
And sometimes there will be network related issues so that MCA will be activated automatically without charging (happened to me once). And sometimes they will be automatically activated by deducting balance from our mobile and we being unaware of that. This was the worst thing i face with service providers, they activate the things automatically deducting balance (like caller tunes).
And can u tell the option present in nokia 5800 setting. IM ALMOST SURE THAT THIS OPTION IS NOT PRESENT IN MESSAGING APP. BUT, IF IM CORRECT U MUST HAVE SEEN IT IN "SIM TOOLKIT" APP WHICH IS A NETWORK RELATED THING AGAIN.
Check the "Sim Toolkit" (or some other name i don't know what ur carrier names it) app on wildfire and verify whether u see it there.

[Q] Voicemail locks phone?

I've received a voicemail (I have the reel-to-reel tape icon). If I do anything in an attempt to listen to the voicemail (including dialling 901 as suggested) then my phone attempts to make a call, which ends about one second later, then the display locks and I have to enter my PIN number again.
I'm happy just to turn Voicemail off, as it has stopped working, but I suspect this will involve dialling 901, and then I'm back to square 1.
Any suggestions, or do I just wait for the voicemail to expire?
I liked this phone for the first three weeks, but now, with the "Low memory" problem and now this, I've passed into the "hopefully someone will steal it" phase...
I suspect it that your wfs can't read the settings from the sim to find out the voicemail/anwser phone. Haven't tested it, will report back if I have a problem.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire S A510e using the air.
That was it. GiffGaff uses 443 (GIF) instead of 901.
Their help said to enter *61*443# but that didn't seem to do anything. Voicemail still said 901.
So I went into the settings and changed the Voicemail number to 443. It still said 901.
So I rebooted the phone. Now it says 443 and Voicemail works.
I'm left wondering which of my two actions fixed the problem, and if it WASN'T *61*443# then I wonder what that did?
voicemail is in your service provider in sim, not included in phone only emails are compatible with wildfire s. just tell them to email you than this voicemail.
