Can't Text To At&t (Page Plus) - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I flashed my phone to Page Plus, bought a texting plan, and have everything going...except texting to the only phone I need to. I cannot send a text TO my friend's At&t Go Phone, but can get texts FROM it, along with every other phone I have tried. My friend flashed his Droid Bionic to Page Plus as well and had this very same problem. Is it my friend's phone, or is it mine? I have followed a guide to flashing and all that from this site, along with help from other sites. I have changed the PRL's to get rid of the roaming indicator, which I kinda thought would help, but didn't.
I am getting frustrated as hell. Any tips would be apprciated.

Sprint Galaxy Nexus SMSC settings

So I wanted to see if somebody would provide me with the settings they have for the SMSC. Starting this morning I was no longer able to send text messages and I know its not an issue with a ROM or anything because I Odin'd back to factory and I am still having the issue. This isn't the first time I have had an issue with a GNex not being able to text and I had to take my old one back to the store and get a replacement because they were unable to fix. I think I stumbled upon my problem/solution and was hoping that somebody from this great community would help me out. Could somebody do the below and paste what settings they have or give a screenshot. THANKS in advanced.
Open Dialer
Type the following sequence *#*#4636#*#*
Open Phone Information
Well for starters, My first Gnex had this issue a few days after receiving it, approximately one month ago. This morning I noticed I was once again unable to send or receive text messages. Up till now, I have been stock with root. I have been scouring pages and forums trying to find more info on this problem.
Unfortunately the farthest I have gotten is a wiki page on Cyanogenmod that goes through the process of updating your SMSC based on your Carrier's Gateway Number and putting it into PDU format. You can fidn the gage here.
To make it worse, as I thought I was going to be able to manually update it and get SMS back up, i still receive update error.
To make matters worse, for the past four days calls drop out every four to six minutes regardless of coverage. Not just on my line, but my wife's and my sister's lines as well. However they have not been able to reproduce any SMS problem like the one I have once again come across. I'm pretty close to dropping Sprint even if I've got a year left on contract.
Thanks for the reply. When I went to update or refresh the smsc I would get an error as well. This is my second GNex and really frustrated by it. I ended up odin'ing back to factory to and called sprint. they had me re-activate the phone *#*#72786#*#* then a few minutes later it started working again...
Well at least you were able to get yours working again. I've performed several resets via the 72786 menu to no avail. I went to a store today, to see them try it themselves, and eventually reactivate it. After seeing my problem was the same as the last, They decided to order a new/refurb phone. If this doesn't work out I plan on going back to my Evo 4G or just dropping my line on Sprint.
Well last night the modem died completely, this is some bull****. Can't connect to any sprint towers, makes me wish I still had my old phone. With 3 lines I just cant spend that much money to leave sprint.

I completely understand the cost of leaving sprint. I'm in the same boat with three lines as well. I have read up that in many cases an etf can be waived by returning the phone.
I am currently waiting for a new nexus to get shipped out here. If this third one doesn't hold up I'm going to have some bickering to do with account services. The other two lines are only experiencing dropped calls every few minutes and after talking with several reps, there is ongoing maintenance in my area.
What I want to know is why can't the smsc number be updated. And then why after wiping system and data and then flashing stock, that the smsc still cannot be updated. Something about the smsc cant be updated or there's a read error, corrupted sector, i dunno. I feel like I have exhausted everything I can think and tried everything I can. Not to mention this problem seems relatively isolated.

[Q] Need help getting an EVO on MetroPCS...

Hi all,
Thanks for a least looking at this thread and providing feedback. So here is my situation.
1. Bought EVO 4g from a friend who bought new phone and transferred his phone number from Sprint to Verizon so the phone does not have access to Sprint's network.
2. My wife has a crappy MetroPCS phone I would like to replace with the EVO 4g.
3. I have all the software that has been talked about in many threads here: diagnosis drivers, cdma workshop, prl, and a few other things which I can't remember.
4. I have rooted the phone with S-OFF and currently running MetrogenMod 4.5
Q1: Does the phone need to be on the Sprint network in order for me to get the phone working on MetroPCS?
Q2: After reading all of the forums it sounds like the phone will magically work on MetroPCS' network, but something tells me I'm missing something?
Q3: How do I get my wife's phone number transferred over to this phone? It seems I can only transfer the current phone number that the phone has even though it is not mine.
Thanks again in advance and I apologize if these questions have been asked before, but I did not see any.

PS: Ok after reading and getting familiar with this stuff it seems there are two ways of doing this, but I rather get some expertise from someone first :
1. Easiest method. Call MetroPCS and request an ESN swap. Since I own both phones I don't foresee this as illegal and I've heard of people successfully getting this done.
2. Hardest method and possibly bricking the phone. Call Sprint and request MLS number. Then use the software that is available to get ESN from old phone and write it to the new phone. If done right, the new phone will act and connect as if it were the old phone.
To all, am I correct in the above assumptions?
You shouldn't need to call sprint for your msl..search the play store for "msl reader". It'll save you that hassle anyways. ....Did a quick search and found this guide over on af.. http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/538899-guide-metro-pcs-donor-flash.html .. I flashed to boost so thats the extent of my experience. Hope it helps.

Hi nrvlljr,
Thanks for the encouragement. Unfortunately it did not work for me. For some reason the phone is unable to log into the MetroPCS network as my old phone. One thing that confused me about the instructions was to save the nam1 and Nam2 data for my old phone because not once after that did I use this data to reprogram the new phone. All it says is to replace the ESN and meid numbers in the nvm folder and reboot.
Next I tried the MetroPCS tutorial in the developer forum to get MetroPCS working, ROM and everything without success. I'm able to connect via roaming, but not on my current phone number.
Anyways, if you or anyone here has any ideas, I would gladly appreciate it. At least the phone is not bricked, yet.
Thanks in advance.

Ok, so after more fiddling, I was able to get Data working, but no talk and text. To get data working, I had to run DFS to import the latest PRL from MetroPCS into the phone. Once I did that and rebooted the phone, 3G started to work, but still could not get Talk and Text to work.
Then I did the worst thing that I could have done, I think. I order for me to get Talk and Text working, I took the phone to a MetroPCS. Well, I let them run the phone through Houdini and now Talk and Text work, but I can't get 3G to work even though I have a plan that has Talk, Text and Data and I have reloaded the MetroPCS PRL in the phone.
Has anyone ran into this problem? Would I have to get my phone off the MetroPCS database in order for me to get 3G running again? Any help would be gladly appreciated.
Hello, I, new here..
I have literally tried everything i have read from forum to forum, post to post, from installing DIAG drivers to QPST, apn, anycut, everything i have found and cannot make my EVO to connect to the web. What kind of phone did you use for the donor flash? I had this problem with my old evo 4g. I had it donor flashed from a freeform 1. Even though I was paying for 3g the evo didnt get it. I assumed it was because my freeform didnt have 3g so the ESN being read by the network on my evo didnt require it to send 3g data. Just a guess

[Q] No matter what I do on my Cricket flashed S2, I still get error 16! PLEASE HELP!

First, let me start by, in advance, thanking anyone who replies to this thread. Now that the formalities are out of the way.. I can't call or text at all! I've followed, step by step, the directions from cricketusers on how to flash a touch over to Cricket. I've lost multiple hours of sleep searching thru forums and websites to find an answer to my problem. If I dial out, I get Error 16, switch 211. When I stay on the line, the messages says "thank you for calling your cellular provider, please wait for customer assistance, etc." but it always says there are too many calls, try again later. I have. Every half hour. for the last 3 days. I read the tutorial on flashing to boost, so I called my sprint rep from a different phone, they refreshed what needed to be refreshed, and nothing happened. And from reading up how to flash to boost, I am assuming you are re directed to Sprint, and not a generic message, correct? I've tried multiple PRLs and either they send me to Error 16, or they just give me the busy tone. I can recieve calls and texts all day, but can't send any out. Cricket can't use the ESN from my S2 for some odd reason either. I've tried manually programming my phone. That doesn't work either. Suggestions? Any help would be appreciated!
P.S. I am pretty sure I posted this in the right place, right? lol

LG LS-980 Sprint to NET10 driving me crazy!!!!!

Hello,
First, let me express my deepest thanks in advance for those of you who may be of assistance. I have visited this site many times over the years when I needed to find the answers to smartphone related issues (mostly rooting..etc). I have usually found the information that I needed via reading posts and trial and error; however, I am having a problem that I cannot find the answer to and it is frustrating the crap out of me.
So, here goes:
I bought a LG LS980 off of Ebay. It was locked to Sprint and I had a friend of mine root it (since I couldn't figure it out and it ended up being that the firmware had to be downgraded since a patch was bumped to it) and unlocked (or so i was told, but I do not know how to find out). It is currently running Cyanogenmod 12.1. I wanted to use my old phone's SIM and pop it into my new phone so that I could enjoy it (the old phone was a Nexus and ran hella slow). So, anyway.... I contacted NET10 customer support since that is my carrier and explained what I wanted to do. They let me know that as long as it is unlocked that I would be able to just swap the SIM into the new phone and should be good to go. They checked my IMEI and said that the phone was, indeed, compatible and as long as it is unlocked it should just be a matter of a simple ROM swap. Not the case. I put the SIM in and booted it up. It went from No Service to saying "Sprint" on the upper left hand corner. I try to make a call and it states that, "The code or number that I am dialing is incorrect, please try the code or number again". I looked this up on the internet and didn't find a focused answer. I talked to my friend and he stated that I may have to set up a new APN profile.
I have checked the APN settings on it and all of the APN profiles have the prefix "Verizon". I used this mini tutorial at http://forums.androidcentral.com/goo...-settings.html along with the NET10 settings to try and make a profile. Both of their workarounds don't seem to work. I can enter about half of the information and then either click BACK or SAVE and then the profile is gone. I am not sure this is the reason that my phone is not working, but I thought I would give it a try. I have also tried to use this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2798566 as a loose guide, TWRP installed. Keep in mind that I believe that my firmware was rolled back to ZVE. and not ZVD. When I have tried to edit the build.prop values at the tutorial states it does not save. Also, there are two lines that are not even in my build.prop (ro.build.target_operator and persist.service.crash.enable). When I have tried to edit or add it adds them but does not save and definitely does not persist through reboot. I feel as if I am close to getting the phone to work, but I am unsure where to go from here. I really do NOT want to have to go back to a stock ROM and all of that because....well.... my friend did the rooting and installing of cyanogenmod and I don't want to risk undoing all of his work and having to pay $ to have it done all over again (I have rooted phones..etc, but this G2 was a MOFO because of the firmware patch for me). NET10 CS and TS was of no help and they gave me a ticket number (and to tell you the truth the are outsourced and I can't understand what their reps are saying). So, does anyone have any advice or threads that I can look at? Like I said, I feel as if it is close, but no matter what number I call it says that recording. I get no incoming calls (although it rings when listening to the incoming calling phone's speaker). I am also unable to send or receive SMS or MMS messages. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am not the most technically savvy person, but I can answer your questions to the best of my ability and I am good at following directions. (I have about 5-6 phone root/ROMS under my belt and even 2-3 SPRINT to NET10 activations, but this one is just perplexing the crap out of me) . Could it be that the phone is not unlocked???? How do I check this??? Is there a way??? When I put in the NET10 SIM it never asked me for an unlock code so I am assuming that my friend unlocked it? I have also tried "Turn the phone ON and type 2945#801# If nothing happens, type 2945#802# or 2945#*803#" and no hidden menu appears asking for an unlock code.

LG G2 Sprint to Net 10 not working.... almost there...what am I missing????

You can unlock your Sprint phone for GSM but you can't activate it to Verizon or its MVNOs.
