Has anybody ever flashed there epic 4g touch to boost mobile or cellcom or straight talk?
If so is it worth it and how?

Does it got good servise....how much did it cost you to flash over?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Yea service is great depending on where u are u get fast 3g. But it didn't cost me nothing I just got a boost incognito make sure esn is clean and any et4g bad esn or good it doesn't matter. But to flash it its free if you follow the guide I'll look for it and post you the link
Here you go

If you keep looking there's also a link that let you get 4g working on boost

Sweet thanks bro.....I just moved to shawano wi. And the sprint servise sucks.
So I figured I'd flash to different carrier, but I have to see what boost coverage is here before I flash lol.

Yea that's true check how sprint is over there since boost uses sprint towers.
And good luck if u need any help pm me and I'll try 2 help u as best as I can. Because after I flashed the phone I got error 16. Also its recommended u use the incognito.

If you dont get good sprint service chances are you will get even worse service with boost. Boost mobile is a sprint company and runs off sprint towers and has no roaming.

hey there i need help flashing my samgsung galaxy to boost i followed the video and the post but when i get to the drivers for the samsung it wont install i have a sph-d710 and the download is for a sph-d700 and i tryed to get the drivers for mines but it wont show up in my ports but everything else is all right
Hoping I can get some help! I have a Sprint S2 on Boost for my pop. had someone flash it for me. worked perfectly. now i have no data. I am 99% sure I know what is wrong but don't know the KEYS to fix it.
OK from the top. everything worked. but a few hours later voicemail went poof. dial into vmail says invalid number. Grrr nothing I do seems to make it reset then I remember that changing ESN resets voice mail.
SO I activate a boost android phone. it activates fine but no data. it did not "activate" right (boosts end I assume) anyway the automated support provides instructions if you get no data as a last resort kind of thing if you tried everything else.
it has me punch in a ##xxxxxx# string and the phone reboots and intiates activation and data comes on! yeah.
Voicemail is now working again as well.
OK so I swap ESN back to the flashed S2
voicemail properly resets. its working now. calls and text are working but no data now.
I think I know what I need to do. I need to do some similar ##xxxxxx# thing (no its not ##MSL# tried that already) to get it to reset the data connection like I did on the other phone.
BUT .... HOW do I do it? what is the ## code I need to do this on the S2? I can't use automated help since that system "THINKS" I have a different phone so the instructions are wrong (sanyo 3810)
so what I need is the ## code or whatever the procedure is to force the phone to reset its data connection and get 3G back.
....

Yeah you can do ##786# but that wipes your data. I know there's another code to do a hands free activation. I can't remember it now
Great post. I need this because my parents live in a former Alltel area and I get zero coverage for Sprint and will not access the tower. If you want to go back to original prl...search for 25006 and follow same steps in OP.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
We call him St. nicholaaaas around here. I went back to stock and flashed 24006. I swear 3G is better even on stock. I don't know about switching but I'm getting better signal and speed. No Sprint 4G in my area.
I can speak to the performance on CM10 yet because of course after flashing stock I forgot to say yes to disable stock restore boot so trashed all my nightly backups and have yet to get a good nightly install. But hey, I'm getting very adept at restoring stock. I'm glad I went back for another reason. The pleasures of CM10 are more evident after having gone back to the original Samsung rendition.
Thanks for the PRL.
I write ny prl by using any cut. I create a prl write short cut and rename the prl to test.prl . Might be simpler no msl required

Thanks for this. Awesome having PRLs! The Verizon ones in Jax, FL go LoS often (connected to network, but loss of data connection). I haven't tried 01337 yet, though. I don't think LTE is affected by PRLs due to it being a GSM technology.

how do I know which PRL is on the phone right now?
also, lets say I flash this, if I do an update prl from settings, will that just take it back to stock or rather released version? or once I do this, it'll break that feature.

No need for a hands free activation, you can do as you mentioned and just go into your update PRL from Settings and get it done that way to get back to your 'stock' PRL.
From my experience, disabling data first will cause this to stick more times than not.
As another guy said, use Google to search for the anycut apk and you can create a shortcut that way. It's listed as 'PRL Write' within the app. Once you do this, you can just click that shortcut, hit the button and the phone will reboot. Not a big time saver, but one nonetheless depending on how often you're planning on using this.
If you use the 00001.prl (VZW only) it will show up as '1' in 'About Phone'. The preceeding 0's are omitted for some reason.
For me personally it's the only one I use as Sprint doesn't have a roaming agreement with VZW in Chicago, so if I have a bad signal, this is my only choice.
For those of you just changing a PRL to enable 3G data when you roam, let's say naturally, you probably won't need to revert back at all. In that case, just freeze System Update so Sprint doesn't roll you back after a day or two.
just curious of people use it or not? On the EVO LTE you wanted to keep wi-fi off as it tended to cause problems when switching from wi-fi to 4g (the problem being you would not get any 4g signal.)
Nope. Annoying having that crap pop up constantly

You have to have some source of internet, whether its wifi or Data, to send picture messages. As to why you don't have data I can't be sure, maybe you're using a Sprint ROM and need to change a couple files.
I know.I have a data plan but its a triangle where 3g icon suppose to b.I can Send texts but no pics.I have wifi and still wont send pic msg..keep saying sending. Don't think rom has anything to do with it

The triangle where the signal bars are means your roaming, which means there's basicly no signal, and you need a data connection to do so

Two things: you need to update your prl to get the roaming sign to go away, and if the data isn't working you may have input the aaa and ha keys wrong...if you have them. If you need help with these things, send me a pm.

When my E4G was flashed, the PRL they loaded worked fine, no triangle, but since I did the off the air PRL update using *22890, triangle stays on.
The Sprint phone can't recognize the Page Plus PRL as a native network.
Problem is you don't know when you actually ARE roaming.

Sounds like it could be network vision. I'm a tech for sprint and there have been lots of customers in my area that can't receive phone calls. Flash the return to stock Rom and if it is still doing it then take it to a service center. If they determine it's a network issue then you're SOL.

So what would you recommend as the best course of action? Staying on 55015 unless you notice you aren't receiving calls sometimes? Come to think of it I think I did get a voicemail once without the phone ringing... but other than that once, it seems like 55015 has been better than 2000, at least in terms of holding a data signal.
Depends on your area and your service. If 20000 doesn't work and 55015 does, then stick with it. As for calls rolling directly to VM and your phone isn't broke lol, it more then likely is a hickup in the network. You should see some of the network Trams I see on my end.

So I noticed you work for Sprint. I'm running a custom prl on my note 2 that prioritizes 800 smr. Most of the time I fail to connect, but not always. I am an active member at s4gru.com, a Sprint forum, and many people with note 2's are experiencing the same connection problems with smr. My wisdom for you is if Sprint, internally, has diagnosed the problem with the note 2's and 800 smr. Obviously Sprint knows something is up or they wouldn't have pushed the 2000 prl.

The reason I push out non standard PRLs are for instances were I have a customer who is not getting service at all or is getting extremely poor voice service. As for s4gru.com, that is not a sprint affiliated web site. It is a community blog that is not moderated nor updated by sprint. It is true that some N2 users in specific markets experience issues with 800 SMR bands enabled but I personally have not had an issue with it.

L900VPAMC2 Stock Rooted with a DPI change. But I have been running 55015 the entire time even before I rooted. Erickson has been working on the issue for some time but driver updates for the Note 2 are needed for the patch to work and as far as I can tell Sammy hasn't done that yet.
But for most people I deal with, having to power cycle your phone occasionally is a hell of a lot better then no service at all.
