Well the topic says it all. Is it possible with any mod, hidden menu or w/e?

Like seriously, don't search for the vukkuons of posts that already cover this exact question.
I did, basically all that threads I found talked about volume+, and in the app description on play store says that is not working properly on JB.
Also I don't really need an app but a mod or kernel modification. I just need it for Skype video calls and I don't want to have an app running in background all the time for notifications.
I'm confused, should I say sorry for my -10000000 times asked question- or Thank you for your kindness?

Not able to do it on jellybean as of now.Google is blocking something on the speaker modification or idk I read it somewhere. It sucks I know.

Try Trinity Kernel (http://derkernel.com/jbtuna.php#). It's a kernel mod that allows you to tweak a bunch of settings. It gives you an option to do a volume boost. I have mine set at 2 and it's LOUD.
You can also download the Trinity app from Play Store, that way you can download the kernels and flash via CWM.
If this helped you, hit Thanks
vG
You can also use something like DSPManager and just use the equilizer to push everything to 150%.

In build.props, I saw 2 lines about the make and model of the phone.. my problem is that a lot of high def apps don't show up in my play store because its not 'compatible' although they work flawlessly
So if I change the name to, say, a galaxy s2, will all the incompatible apps show up?
Will this cause problems?

Well, so far, every fancy app I've tried works without any problems (though Real Racing 2 did lag at certain places, but a restart fixed it) so that's no problem
If I update to a newer CM9 build or something it won't give problems or something would it?
EDIT: I updated to the model and brand of a galaxy s2, rebooted my device, cleared my Play Store data but it still shows up as the Defy (real racing 2 and backstab don't show up yet).. even the play store on my comp shows my device as a defy
Will I have to do a full data wipe and reinstall my OS for this to work?
no it should have worked...
maybe ull need to login to Google again...
also note that u can only register 10 devices per email a/c so u better not keep doing this...
Sent from my MB526 using xda premium
Also having difficulties. Changed the lines but three play store keeps telling me its a defy.
It changed in the about page...
I thought you could delete a device from your desktop. Would it still count?
Maybe only troubles with ics?
Sent from my MB525 using XDA
There are many different places to download from e.g. 4shared, if the google playstore shows that my defy is incompatible. Find it much easier then changing build.prop.

Does it have a dependency on another system app? That's the best place to start.

im clueles, maybe the camera or gallery is there a way to figure that out?..
beeump
I would have a look at it but have no time for at least two weeks. I barely know what I'm doing myself though in all honesty.
I tried the apk from the s2 and the lg one that you have to symlink (from a different post) none of which worked for me
But in all honesty it's something I'd only use once every so often anyway

I think what you requested is available on sgs3. Now its built in with video player.just press the menu btn at the time of playing video

Here is a link to flashable zip to get google now working in full. I take no credit for this. Just linking to the thread where all the hard work has been done. Please read through the entire thread if you have questions. A big thanks to lenny kao for getting google voice fully functional without needing any workarounds.

Just flash the zip in recovery and you will have a fully functional google now!
Can you post a link to download cwn zip

It takes svoice function away and it's been out for a while now it does work but you need another app to make it work so it's not fully integrated yet I'd wait

Read the thread, looks like only thing this adds is voice but otherwise is same as old apk version. Also people have been complaining its not working and you're messing with libs. Will wait

Yeah my bad on that. Meant to post in the general section, but posted on the development by mistake. If a Mod could remove this post that would be great.

It functions just as the Jelly Bean version does. You no longer need JohnnyG's mod to get voice working. So far I have not any problems with the mod. If you want to get caught up on the thread start at post #2370.
Google now works, but the voice doesn't hear anything I say to it
I flashed it and voice works for me. I'm on a stock rooted rom.
Another mirror for you guys on my server

Thanks for the heads up, working great in WanamLite
voice works but cannot get it to search the phone to play music or make a call.
the actions don't work automatically...but good anyway

Any idea how to get S Voice working again? I cannot get the double tap to work after doing this mod....
It's frustrating because I use it regularly to make calls using my bluetooth speaker in my car.

Try the app "Home2 Shortcut" in the appstore. Use that or Apex Launcher's double tap option and set it up to read the application "Voice Search" for google now, or look for "S voice." It works for me with very minimal lag.

Is there any way to get call recording to work on the phone? Ive tried 5 different apps and none work.
A lot of the ICS roms have the ability enabled.
The one I used was Wanamlite. If you're on jelly bean, I don't think they've figured out a way to enable this.
Lemme dig through my apps.... I had one that worked flawless on CM10
Edit: you've got mail if anyone else wants pm me cuz I'm too noob to the site to post links :banghead:

Why don't you just post the name of the app?
Because typing it in the market will result in 20 apps with the same name lol

The app called sanity had functional call recording on my telus model until the jelly been update (rooted stock rom). It was not the speakerphone trick either, it was good quality for both sides of the call.
So that's an answer for anyone who hasn't updated and a bump otherwise.

I finally found one that works. My 6th app I tried. It's called NG recorder.
I spoke too soon. Only works when on speaker. Anyone able to get call recording to work on S3?
Latest version of callrecorde work on S3. Check the thread to see what setting you need. You need Alsa and also you need to set the phone model as the last one in the list, qualcom experimental. I have it on JB and it is working fine, just a little crackle sound in the background but it does not change much, you can hear the conversation very well.

Yes, CallRecorder is working for me too but the crackle in the background is rather annoying. Any other clear sounding options available?
I installed CM 10 last night and the gapp pack compatible with 4.1. Everything looks good and current except I have no camera at all on my D700. The camera button does nothing, there is no camera app, and if I try to get to the camera through 'Movie Studio', the application fails. I searched the forum but it seems most people's camera app just crashes. Mine doesn't exist at all.
Redownload and reinstall and make sure you wipe.......try fixing permissions first though
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2
Well, I did that and got the camera back. Now the WiFi won't connect.
During the initial boot up phase, it just gets stuck on 'turning wi-fi on'.

Try flashing didhy's nitestkernel...(the newest ones are in the back of the thread)
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2
Thank you. I appreciate your help. I hope I don't push my luck but I am very new at this. Can you give me a little more information on what that means and where to find it? I searched nitestkernel and didn't find anything that seemed relevant. Do I need to wipe all data before flashing this or just go ahead and flash it on top of the CM10 and gapps that are already installed?

Awesome, thanks. I managed to fix my issues by doing that arduous factory reinstate, then back to CM Mod and the latest google apps. Both WiFi and Camera work now. I am going to go for the gold and install the latest kernel you sent me.
