I would suggest searching in the Nexus 7 Q&A and Nexus 7 General forums for better answers.
Since you are new, I would also suggest reading this: [GUIDE] How to be a New User (and not a noob)
Good Luck!

[Q] Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus on Page Plus

Hi:
I bought a pre-owned Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone.
The phone came with Android ICS, I did an upgrade to Android JB using "Nexus Root Tool Kit". I installed BAMF Paradigm ROM in the phone.
Now I'm trying to get phone service from Page Plus. What else do I need to do to make this phone work with Page Plus 3G service?.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

That thread you linked is of no help to non programming nerds. Try linking to a thread that actually explains in layman's terms

then you cant move a verizon phone to page plus without being able to follow this.
Sprint Nexus l700 changes MIN to MDN
I'm having the hardest time changing my MIN and MDN in my Nexus L700 to pageplus. I finally got the RIGHT drivers...and finally connected the phone to ETS...and finally learned the basics of flashing with it...LOL. (I think it'll gets easier) Anyway. I see in the automated scripts " Overwrite MDN with IMSI_S=0". That looks to me like the phones original programming has that bit set to "1". Everytime I change either the MDN or the MIN...the end up the same. I think this is the final step...(I hope) to switching this Sprint Galaxy Nexus L700 over to verizon.
Also...the script "Verizon to Pageplus doesn't work with my Sprint to Pageplus phone..

[Q] [advice] Did i make the right choice

Ok so i have VERIZON and i was using an old slow LG VORTEX. I weaseled my way into an early upgrade (through their customer loyalty department) and decided to get the Galaxy Nexus CPO. It was free (50$ minus 50$ mail in rebate). I dont have a lot of extra cash to get something cutting edge so i figured that for the price it was a great option. With JB (and i see paranoid android has 4.2 testing) i think i made the right choice. But the question is, how long will this phone be valid? its dual core 1.2 processor still seems pretty quick (i know its not the best) and the developer community seems to still give it plenty attention. i was coming from a single core 600mhz low end brick so im sure i will be happy with the performance.
I know you have all had your phones for a while and might be looking to upgrade soon, but im just getting one so again, did i make a good choice?
The Nexus S reached the end of it's OTA life when Nexus 4 came out, so next year whenever the new Nexus comes out is when I expect support for the Gnex from Google to end. But the development here on XDA will probably last for a while longer than that.
Look at the original Evo 4g still getting roms..since u don't have a huge budget I'd say its a solid choice
after watching this i feel i made a good choice,

I know the developers wont give up, hell i got 4.0 on my LG Vortex. so im sure this phone will remain up to date for at least 18 months.

You made an awesome choice. Don't worry.
There is no right or wrong choice, you either like it or you don't. That's all that matters

The Nexus S and Xoom have very small partitions (236mb for XOOM not sure about S) that wouldn't fit 4.2+. I'm sure with it's 1gb partition the Gnex is pretty future proof.

[Q] Nexus 7 2013 4g LTE

Good morning people,
my first post and just wondering if I am a bit to old for this forum I say that because at 66 yrs and only experience is building a couple of computers Etc. However I bought the first nexus 7 when it came out and last week took delivery of the 2013 version with sim card access. I assumed that with it having a sim card that it would act as a phone for calls and not just data, I do like the new tablet and it`s a great deal better than my 2012 model...so here it is: Is there or ever will there be a way to make phone calls from an active sim??? I have Skype and know the Faq about voip Etc but am I kidding myself into thinking that it would be possible??
Thanks and appologies for my ignorance.
Ken.
PS; by the way I think this site is great.

It's too early to say. Certainly not with the standard device as it comes. But who knows whether someone will be able to develop an update? Texts however work well with the addition of mms, apk. But you need to be rooted to add it so it is not for newbies unless they are prepared to take risks and follow the instructions in other threads here..

[Q] No custom ROMs for this device?

Hey Peeps,
I have been an Android user since Nexus One itself but never stumbled upon a phone without any ROMs except this one. Am I missing out something? Why aren't they in development?
Please do let me know if they exist cause I was thinking about taking the initiative of making one.
There are no roms under development I think so..... So u should go for it ??

What the good news this morning... go for it dude! we'll support you... and don't forget for LTE model also...
I think so. No AOSP Rom for Note 3 Neo up to now although its was issued 4 months ago . I like the design, S-Pen, battery life, price and its performance but I have never seen any hi-end deviced before with no both custom ROM and recovery like it (N750 - hl3gxx).
I think we have to wait or study to build myself . I have just bought a second-hand Nexus 5 to feel 4.4.3 Rom beside N750.:laugh:

From what I can see, there isn't really much going around for the find 7 QHD international or even the Chinese model yet, since most people are still receiving their pre orders (even myself) be patient and hopefully some stuff will start cropping up, there is a root method already though.
Hey,
I set mine up with AOSP 4.4.4 / root / etc ...
With the instructions here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53814021&postcount=57
Installed fastboot with this :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979
Seems to work OK, main issue is that the mic does not work on the speakerphone or when taking video.
Cheers
I'm on a Find 7 QHD, and have been running CM11 since Monday. I flashed the 7/2 nightly early this morning, and have been hammering the phone for the past 7 hours. No issues...rock solid...45% of my battery left.
While your mileage may vary, for me this has been a very solid ROM.
You can go visit thread in Oppo Forum too: http://www.oppoforums.com/forums/third-party-development.131/
I suggest you to install the recovery first (Gummy's CWM recovery), then root, then install ROM. Like DeadlyDa said, you can go download CM11 nightly (latest one) or Nameless ROM, and Gapps, and then flash them.

So the root method will work on any model? I just received my find 7 x9076 and would love to root. Thanks for letting us know. I can't wait to run cm11 on this bad boy!
I retired my GS3 in style....My 18 month old son chucked the GS3 at Buzz lightyear while we were at Disney! lol....
I haven't flashed for a long time and cannot remember the commands etc for fastboot. Will look when I get home but is there a guide anywhere ?

I'm not sure which root methods work with which, a quick google or youtube search should point you in the right direction, just make sure you get the model number right. My QHD find 7 is coming in like 10 mins so I'm super hyped at the moment
And oh dear haha, Kids ey :victory:

I tried rooting via xda video and no go I'll keep looking and if you find a you tube video that is solid, let me know thanks.
Oh my boy loves the notification light on the 7!!!! I won't let him touch it..... wwJoshDew (youtuber) posted a vid about an insurance company that is cheaper than all just in case you break a phone. It's 5 bucks a month, supposedly. I may check it out.
