On my stock ROM from Rogers I had the ability to change network to 3g/edge/3g+edge/hspa/....
Some of the roms i have tried give me the ability to do the same but alot of them dont. Is there any way for me to add this option to ROMs that lack this feature? I am on Tuch Mi v5 and I love it so far but the only downside is that without this option I find myself on edge very often for some reason.

I don't quite know what the thing is called. That's basically my question:
Can the pull-down connectivity bar at the top that allows you to quickly turn on or off wifi, Bluetooth and GPS as well as switch between vibration and ring tone be installed on a Sense ROM?
I've encountered it on CyanogenMod 6.1.1 and rather liked it. Unfortunately, I prefer some of the HTC Sense functionality, so I switched back to the stock ROM (after learning how to uninstall uninstallable apps, that is ). But the stock does not have this bar. Where it would normaly be, there is only my network provider's name and a delete button for the messages.
How do I get this functionality back?
Regards and thank you,
it's built into the framework of a rom. If you want the feature then I suggest you install a rom with it or just use the power widget thing
Seriously? The only option is a widget? That's sad.
Afraid so, the widget notification bar thing is one of the tweaks and features Cyanogen put in CM. It is quite handy.
Back when I had my Evo there were devs making flashable zips for notification pull down controls for this so I'd assume they're around for the G2 as well. On the Evo it required a Deodexed ROM though so you might as well just flash one that already has em in it at that rate.
Hmmm... I'm just warming up to the Virtuous ROM so I don't think using Cyanogen again will be an option.
Ah, what the heck, whether I pull down the menu or scroll to the right once doesn't matter much, does it .
Thanks for the replies .
I'm currently using Cyanogen Mod because of the customizable notifcation power widgets. It lets you choose the order they appear in, how many you want, and it's scrollable. I also like that it's bluetooth isnt totally broken, and doesnt give me any problems with my headphones. It also allows access to android's built in wifi tether, which I require because I have a xoom. The notification widgets have a button to turn on the tether quickly.
However, I love and would really like to have the newer HTC music, camera, and clock apps. I know I cant install these on a non sense rom.
So, the question is, is there a sense 2.1+ rom, with gingerbread, that has a non broken bluetooth, and a similar set up for the notification widgets with the tether option.
All I've tried is Mikz, and that's how I found out about the new HTC apps. Thanks in advance.
Try Virus's ace port. It's quite stable. I don't know about bluetooth tho as I never tried it.
Hi,
As I use a PIN to unlock my phone, I'd like to remove the ring lock screen.
I know how to do it in CM7 but can't find it under ICS...
I'm on Leedroid ROM.
Thank you.
You can't without replacing the lockscreen for an alternative
Hasn't LeeDroid tweaks got an option to replace the HTC lockscreen with the standard ICS one?

any luck?
Even I am annoyed with the round unlock screen.. is there any way to change it to stock ICS (or anything else) ? I am currently on the untouched Stock HTC OneX ICS
Anyways for this?
I'm fairly sure the lock screen is unchangeable on the stock ROM, custom ROM's there is usually an option to use one of the many ICS lock screens and in some cases lock screens from previous versions of Android. As for LeeDroid I'm not too sure as I have never used it, but in other ROM's the setting is usually found inside the ROM Control or ROM settings inside the settings menu.

What custom ROM's are you talking about that have options for the lock screen?
I know that the MIUI ROM uses a different lock screen, and if you don't want to use the entire ROM, you can use the MIUI Launcher app to add it to any ROM.
I too would like to simply disable or remove it somehow if at all possible.
Here is an efficient and good looking non-root alternative

Well hello Lads and Gents,
I've been using the PACman ROM, which unfortunately hasn't been updated for a year, for a long time and I was amazed by the variety of functions available in this All-in-One ROM! But a weird bug in the ParanoidAndroid options (will talk about it later) annoyed me, so Mustaavalkosta's CM11 release got my attention.
I have to say that KitKat is pretty cool! But for some odd reason, my Google Calendar isn't syncing at all, the extended desktop feature doesn't change a thing, Trebuchet went full retard so I had to delete and replace it with a version designed for non-rooted phones, random freezes, etc. (will add more when I find more)
Nevertheless CM11 features nice data protection options and other little things that I didn't have in the PACman ROM (as it's JellyBean), while PACman ROM had nice features I don't have in CM11...
So my core question is: Is there a way to install AOKP and PA features in CM11? I really loved Pie and the notification bar customization (PA) was really cool too, even though it didn't work for me. I'd appreciate any hints on how to add new features (from other ROMs) on my phone without f*cking it up.
Also, is over the air updating possible for the nightlies?
And about that weird ParanoidAndroid notification bar customization bug: The problem was that the scaling of the settings were wrong. To be able to access the field where the color is set, I had to turn my phone to landscape mode. But when I did that the color palette which opened had its save button outside of the screen, no way to scroll. If I turned it back into portrait mode, the dialogue simply disappeared! I tried everything to fix it but I had no chance. So I've been unable to change any of the notification bar settings for ANY app.
Thanks in advance!

You could either build your own ROM with the features you want, or find replacement apps. There's not really a drag-and-drop method for adding new features.

So that means I have to learn ROM coding? Oh lord... I thought there might be an easier way to bypass just this solution.

Yes.
Hi Dudes and Devs,
I want a solution or an idea. I'm having s4 mini duos with stock installed. Everything is fine for me. I'm rooted and using xposed modules. So i'm having better looks and performance without modifying the stock. Now i'm having only one thing which is annoying me a lot.
That thing is, if we set the pin/password for the lock screen, there is no such option to use the Lockscreen security with Swipe like that in the ICS.... So whenever i try to unlock my screen means the Pin panel or password panel is always showing up... It's not looking nice and its annoying me.... In the CM builds and other custom builds the swipe option was included...
So someone please tell me...
Is there anyway to activate/use the lockscreen security feature with swipe option enabled?
Is there any way to activate that by editing some files using file explorer? (Like enabling the Nav bar in stock ROM using a command)...
Please dudes i dont want to changeover to a CUSTOM build, so someone please tell me a way to enable the feature without changing the stock rom.
And most importantly it'll be helpful for all the Stock Users....
I am Waiting

Not sure if it is possible, it is by design.
When you have a high security lock screen, you will not be able to pull down the shades. Not sure about having that in CM or custom builds as I have Carbon 4.4.4 on my 9192 and it is disabled there as well.
What's the use of pin/pattern lock if anyone can unlock your device with swipe anyway?
But yes in CM builds there were two step unlocking, first swipe than patter/pin and I think you mean that.
In order to get it on your default samsung rom you need to install 3rd party screen locker and customize accordingly.
