I flashed the kernel to my SPH-L710, could someone please help!! - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

I believe I used Odin to flash a kernel for my SPH-L710, but it was the one for the quad core international model. I have looked for a replacement stock kernel, so i can fix it. Phone wont boot. Could someone please help. Thanks:crying:

Thanks so much for responding. I finally got it on my own by flashing the Kettle Korn kernel. I just couldn't seem to find "stock" kernel. Beside Samsung servers having issues. Anyway, no i can overclock, nice bonus. Thanks again!:good:

[q] odin, help, danger, and girls!

I may have lied about the girls, but here is my problem. I was on CM 10.1 Nightly 4/17 or something. I tried flashed Ktoonssez kernal....and it bricked my phone. I managed to get download mode but I am not sure what to do. Finals are coming up, and I have some lecture recording so if there is anyway to get everything back. If not I still want to stay on CM 10.1 I cannot enter recovery but before I flashed I made a nandoid back up in TWRP. IF anyone can help me ASAP I would really appreciate it!!!!
Came for the girls, disappointed.
Flash a stock ROM via odin, factory reset from recovery, flash TWRP, restore backup.
PS it's kernEl

Yes it did, and then I followed up with CF root. which I think is what messed up because it didnt fail or pass. It just said complete. Will a Jig fix it? It stills vibrates but thats about it.

Can we flash International roms?
Sure. If you wanna brick your phone.

Even the 9005 version? We were able to do that with the S4.

Yes you can, but be sure to only flash the Snapdragon variant's roms. NOT the 8 core one. Also, in my experience, wifi doesn't work if the rom includes a radio or kernel. The CSC has to match up and as of now, we dont have just the CSC for the tmobile one.

I have and it broke my wifi. Thats why I said in my experience
I would PM the dev of the rom you want to flash and ask them if it includes radios and a kernel. If it includes either of them, do NOT flash it. Otherwise you have to ODIN back to stock and go through all that boring stuff.
EDIT: This is the one I flashed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2461929

Try flashing Omega. I'm gonna try that after it downloads.
I can't get any rom to flash. I tried both T-Mobile roms and after I flash them with TWRP and hit reboot it will show the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and then reboot, vibrate twice, and reboot again. It keeps doing that over and over.

I747M identified as I9300 ?

Hi,
Got an GT-I9300 from Amazon just to discover that is a SGH-I747M but tweaked to show it as a 9300.
Now I'm stuck in 4.04 and can't upgrade to 4.1.2, tried stock 747m ROM but odin upload fails. Ofcourse Kies upgrade is not available.
Any way to solve this?

You sure you don't have that flipped? An I9300 that shows as a 747m
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Before you attempt to flash anything, download an app to verify which processor or amount of ram you have. If you flash the wrong thing, you'll end up with a nice shiny paperweight.

I'm pretty sure is a 747, if you check the screenshots I posted, the phone has 2 cores (vs 4 of the 9300) and more RAM than the 9300.

Yes, check the posted screenshots. Says hardware is 747
Your links aren't working to for me to see the pics but if the hardware is i747 then you will only want to flash i747 ROMs. Its a fairly simple matter to edit the file descriptors to change the information that shows in the about phone menu. I have been seeing alot of this from recent Amazon S3 purchases, sounds like some kind of scheme to make more money.

Just replace the spaces in the original post links
I've tried with 747 roms without luck, thats why I'm asking what I should do in this case
I'm pretty sure that I'm not the first wanting to have the correct ROM
Ahh silly me, didnt notice the space
Anyways, it has the correct gpu/chipset to be an i747, so your suspicions are correct. The next question is what isn't working when trying to flash to stock? Error codes etc.

Dont worry. I put the space because this forums blocks links for new users
Software update with OTA simply says "error processing". -> i.imgur. com/0ALVRSd.png
Over Kies gives the message I posted on the first screenshot
I can't remember the exact error on ODIN, I'll take a look and post

Yeah, similar issue here. About Phone says i9300. When I booted into download mode, it said SGH I747. When I tried using GooManager to install a custom recovery, it detected the phone as 'd2can'. I'm bewildered.

I would recommend following the steps in this thread to verify the hardware is infact that of an i747, if so use Odin the flash a stock i747 rom of your choice.

Except 4.3 stock unless you want to be there for a while(can not downgrade) and face a whole world of hurt if you are not using your exact carriers modem/bootrom.

Hey Guys,
Need some help. Might do a warrenty exchange.
So
Everytime I flash a file in recovery, the camera breaks. I tried TWRP latest and PhilZ latest recovery as well but no luck.
It is pretty awkward when your friend asks you to take a video and it doesn't work. -_-
Any thoughts on this?
I couldn't find anything on this in google or XDA search.
Thanks

Here is the stock-modified Samsung S4 Tmobile Jellybean 4.3 kernel.
This will fix the camera issue for you.
Only flash this if your phone is an M919 S4 otherwise you will really mess things up.
Here is the download link for the kernel in case you need it:
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23252070760972765
Flash this using twrp/cwm recovery.

I am not sure about it working with the international variants of the M919 But if you make a nandroid
backup before flashng this modified kernel into an international phone then there is no harm done
even if it does not work with it.

[Q] rotation upside down [Solved]

Hello,
So I just rooted a friends sprint s3 and for some reason on every single ROM the orientation is upside down? I did clean install for each ROM even stock ROM. I flashed stock tar and still having the same issue. I read a couple of posts saying to add rotation to the build.prop but had no luck with that either. If there's a solution for this could you please direct me in the right place. Thanks.

The only s3 with the rotation problem is the T variant, did you confirm by looking under the battery that it is I fact SPH-L710 and not SPH-L710T?
I'm 100% positive there is no "T" at the end. This rotation issue is so annoying. It was working fine without rooting it but now no matter what I do unroot or root it its still the same issue.
Just an fyi also having the incorrect kernel can cause this.

He said he flashed the stock tar and still had the same issue, that's why I think it's a T, flashing stock (ND8/NDC) tar on a regular l710 would not give you those results, flashing those same ones on the T variant will.
You know what!! I came home last night to double check to see if his phone had a "T" at the end and it sure does. Sorry for the misunderstanding. That kernel you posted indeed fixed the problem. Thanks. Just one more question if he flashes other Roms will he need a different kernel then the default one the Roms come with?

Thanks, but on this particular phone I had a 4GB SD card and with lots of app installed it would take lots of space just to backup /system and plus I already have a nandroid backup on that particular SD card occupying over 1.8 GB that I don't wish to get rid of at the moment.
