I got the free transformers movie because I also bought a Nexus 7. When I try to play this on the S3 it stops, studders, won't play. Doesn't matter if I downloaded it locally first, same issue. Any one else having problems playing movies on the S3? I am running the FreeGS3 0.0.7 ROM. Might have to flash back to stock to test this, but easier if someone else can see if this movie plays. If you have a Nexus 7, you can download it free.
I get this. Anyone else?

Apparently I can't come up with the right verbiage because searches are getting me nowhere.
I am working on a Witstech A81E, I can play video in YouTube and converted movies (handbrake) in mobo, rock player etc.
I cannot play video in Survivor app, Droid Streamer or from websites. I have audio and a completely scrambled video. What plays stock video? How can I fix this? Possible decoding problem?
P.S. I have tried 2 different Flash 10.1's from 2 different sources. Did not help.
Any thoughts that might get me headed in the right direction?
Thanks everyone!

Long story short. I transferred a video (3gp) from BFs Evo to my galaxy. I put it in my downloads folder so it would show up in my gallery. When I go to my gallery, I can see the preview for the video, I click it and it says its unable to play. I think the video is like 40mb. Could this be the issue? Let me know if I've left anything out! Thanks!
Try using rock player from the market

Hi guys,
im also a proud owner of a note 2 since yesterday, stepping up from a s3.
But i have a little problem witch i cant solve or understand by my self.
The problem:
When downloading, lets say an episode from a tv show threw aTorrent and it had completed download i cant find it in the video player app, it is like it is hasnt updated it yet.
When i go manualy threw my file folders i CAN find.
So it is in there.
The only way now to update the video player is to, or reboot the Note2 or wait for 30 some minutes before it shows in the video player library.
I didnt had this problem with the S3 as it updated the library almost instantly.
Is this a known bug? Or am i doing something wrong?
Is there a solution to this?
Thanks allot guys!

Never had this problem, i throw my episodes (arround 1gig each, HD) just on my External and Internal SD and its instantly in the video player, try force closing the video player and reopen it, maybe it does refresh then.
When I download picture messages, sometimes it takes a minute or so to show up in the gallery, so I know what the OP is speaking about. Not sure how to fix it though. I just clear RAM and check the gallery until it shows in there.
I have the exact same issue .

I have the same issue since s3 and I feel it's a bug from jelly bean. Bug is that media is not updated in the gallery. The only solution I found is to run the media scanner again. The easiest way is the "scan media" app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t=W251bGwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5kY2Quc2Nhbm1lZGlhIl0.
Just run it once after you download anything, after a couple of minutes, media will appear in gallery.
Thank you so much guys!
Glad to here it is a bug of some kind.
Now with the scan media app as sohebq has mentioned i can directly update the library with succes.
Lets hope this bug will be fixed in the next update.
Thnx again fellow geeks

I bought my daughters nexus 7's for christmas and took them out to get them set up and get some of their favorite games installed and load some of our videos on that they like to watch on my phone. I noticed that the stock video player on the nexus 7 doesn't play many different video formats, basically only mp4 files. The stock touchwiz video player on my galaxy s3 has played every file I have thrown at it with no stuttering and no problems. I was wondering if there was a way to get the video player from my phone onto the nexus 7, would it be possible to use titanium backup to back the video player up and just install the apk on the nexus 7s, or is it more tied into the touchwiz ui than just the video player apk? I know I can use mx player, or another one from the play store, but honestly, I have never found one that outperforms the stock galaxy s3 video player.
Yes! Thank you!

I agree 1000% percent. I have some free MKV files that came with purchased movies. I was able to copy them to my Galaxy S3, as well as AVI's, and it played them flawlessly, not conversion, just like I would play these on my Windows PC or Playstation. I too dont want to install some app from the market and additional codecs to try and get my MKVs to play. But I did try, and it doesnt work. This tells me there's something in the Samsung S3 VideoPlayer app that can play these videos, and that means it should easily be able to run within Nexus 7. I too am trying to find the valid VideoPlayer.apk to try and install it on my Nexus 7. Have you tried that yet? Let me know if you do get it to work. I really love my Nexus, but a few things irk me. No support for Adobe Flash, the video camera app is set to 480p but found posts where you can turn on the ability for 720p, and this, playing MKV and AVI files.
Anyone got this working on their Nexus 7?

I have it installed on Nexus 7. Not too long ago, I attempted to stream one of the movies listed in the app. I was unable to get any movie to play. It would act as if it was starting the movie but it would never get to a point where the movie would play.

Never heard of it until your post; thank you! I did download it (beta2.2 or whatever it was) and was able to play a movie. Just as a test I chose 3 days to die and it downloaded the movie then played it. It stored the mp4 movie in a folder so now I can put it on an USB and finish watching on my xbox. Kind of reminds me of show box.
