Hey guys
I'm experimenting with the Franco kernel (r89 currently) and I'm wondering if anyone has any info on whether one ROM or another is any more processor intensive than another and, if one is better, if anyone has any suggestions for battery friendly ROMs to run with Franco.
Cheers, Paul
GSM Galaxy Nexus
ROM - Cyanogen 9-20120312-NIGHTLY-maguro
Kernel - 3.0.8-franco.Kernel-nightly 89
Liquid gives me the most battery life.
And which AOKP? more details
Galaxy
Yeah, sorry, milestone 4, have you used it?

i cant comment on cm9, never tired it. im currently running milestone 4 and get great battery life. usually about 20 hours idle and 3 hours of screen to kill the stock battery. i dont have anything syncing except weather every 4 hours. No problems with kernel wakelocks.
Awesome, may try Milestone shortly. Is a kernel wakelock exactly what it sounds like, not waking from sleep?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
a wakelock keeps your phone from going to sleep properly when you turn off the screen, ie still using your cpu and battery. check out this thread about wakelocks. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1462020
Will do, thanks for the info, learning more every day

OP uses the GSM variant of the Galaxy Nexus. There are no 4.0.4 roms for the GSM Galaxy Nexus.

i m using gsm version too and i m running 4.0.4. There are 2 4.0.4 roms currently modaco and foxhound with aokp modifications.
i have no issues with cyanogenmod (4.0.3) and battery life, though i do run a custom kernel (fugumod's)
I use CM9/Franco-kernel and have better batterylife then stock (4.0.1) but I have also heard thet 4.0.4 should be better. I'm hoping we soon get the source for 4.0.4
Hello everyone,
I wanted to know what was for you the jelly bean's rom 4.1.1 faster and smoother for Gsm Galaxy Nexus.
I'm using the Bigxie Deox. with Triniy Kernel 384-1344 (I prefer it to the Franco's for the best colors but the Franco's performance is the best) and is very fast but if you know the fastest rom, the advice is welcome.
Maybe you can publish a benchmark with Antutu of your rom. (but with cpu clock speed 1.2ghz)
Thank you.
My Bench ( noop+interactive govern) is...
Your really asking what rom gets the highest benchmark scores aren't you? I also use the same rom as you currently with fancos kernel and I really can't imagine how anything on my phone could be smoother. Flashing another rom to get a 'faster' experience doesn't seem possible in my opinion so I'd personally say it's a pointless question (unless of course you just want a big benchmark number).

Yes, i mean the rom gets the highest benchmark scores. I asked this question because I would be curious to know the benchmark scores of Euroskank by morphic and androidMe 1.1 rom.
can guys provide me with a link to the franco kernel jellybean please.......i was looking for the fastest gnex jellybean rom also.......thank you guys
benchmarks really matter. /sarcasm.

use another ROM. bigxies rom is outdated whereas other ROMs have MORE optimizations.
Any specific rom that u can recommend?....

I was thinking cyanogenmod 10 and found paranoid android ..which is based off cm10 ....in terms of speed, performance and buttery smoothness...which one would be faster?......I would love the speed....but the paranoid hybrid features are pretty cutting edge stuff....
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Just got paranoid android....its should have more performance tweaks than the stock jelly bean since its based on cm10 right?

Im getting the galaxy nexus soon and i was wondering witch JB rom is the most stable rom and is there more than one kernel, witch one is best?!
Excited to get this phone,
Thanks!

That would depend on what variant you got. Is it Verizon, sprint, or gsm. If you got Verizon Xenon HD with the glados kernel has been fantastic for battery life and performance.

almost all the custom ROM are unstable at the moment. I am using stock for now, but if you want custom ROM right now, I really like aokp black bean ROM. It's not hundred percent full featured, but it is quite stable

If you want CM10, look at this. I like it, althogh I still go with CM9.

played temple run and browsing.. made few calls as well.. is this good battery life??
That's pretty good.
My normal is AOKP M6 with Jame Bond 3.1.9.9 kernel.
Although I'm thinking I'm sticking to the AOKP JB nightlies now. Just using Jame Bond 3.4 kernel now.

please guys.. post your battery stats. it will be really helpful to a lot of people to choose roms as we give a lot of preference to battery life.. thanks

That is actually pretty good. It also seems like you play games and that drains the battery pretty quick, especially since is using the GPU much more than in regular use.
I could have never ever achieve this kind of battery with my HTC Sensation even when running CM9.
Here is mine. Using stock but rooted JB and stock kernel.
Used for browsing a lot, Twitter, Facebook, Texting and YouTube videos.

Hi! I'll be going abroad in a couple of days and while I have tested most JB roms I'm not sure which rom has the best battery life. I'm currently using Rasbeanjelly and Trinity Stable 35 and I only got 3hrs of screen on yesterday (however I did have 3G enabled most of the time). Can anyone please suggest the best ROM for battery life ?
Thanks

I'm just curious of what ROM you guys are using as a daily driver for your galaxy nexus
I personally use Black Jelly Bean (based on aokp) because I love the true black theme and the inverted gapps
Also I find it one of the most stable ROM out there and battery is pretty solid too!
I wanna here from you guys!

I've tried several but always return to liquid, its the only one I've found that includes all the features I got used to on ICS. Love the theme of black bean but will wait til aokp incorporates more features into JB.

JellyBro nightly very happy
I have been on paranoid android and I like it so far. Forget which kernel I am running. Under about phone it just says unavailable lol. Good battery life so far. Smooth too. tried aokp, bamf and code name android.
Been looking to switch it up though... anyone have a suggestion for a ROM/kernel combo that has a decent amount of features and customization without sacrificing battery??

Liquid/trinity. Auto sync mobile data and auto brightness on the whole time and I just did 21 hours with 4½ display, will add screenshots from laptop in morning.
I wanted a change so I'm now trying rasbean jelly with trinity kernel. As long as battery holds up the same I'll probably stick with this for a few weeks.

I've switched my ROM to official aokp nightly I do like the inverted apps, but I found updates to be to slow so now, I have nightly aokp overclock to 1.4 and still around 4 hours of screen on time!
