Home screen loading

Hello.
I have had my One X since its release and have had no problem with it. But now all of the sudden the homescreen has started loading all the time.
At one point today it loaded every singel time I backed out of the browser with the home button. Is there any fix to this other than a factory reset and hoping for the best?
thanks!
Did u change any seting in developer options? Namely the "dont keep activities". If so, uncheck it.
Developer options, don't keep activities.
Tick it, back out, go back, untick it. Job done.
thanks for your suggestions, but it did not solve the problem...

A simple restart of your phone should fix it.

Try check your RAM usage. If the RAM usage high this might be the problem.
Cause i had this problem also. I remove some games that use high volume of RAM and reset the phone. And the problem solve...
if you have rooted your phone try going to cwm and go to advance and fix permissions....
For some reason im constantly using over 800mb of ram, but nothing is using anywhere close to that... No root, and I would really love to not have to do a factory reset, tried removing some games and stuff now. But if it dosent help, its factory reset next
that worked

That seems to have worked for me, at least for the time being. Thanks. Now I just need Root and a tasty rom.
This worked for me! Cache may be the issue.
Download and install Android Assistant. Go to tools/cache cleaner/ and clear the cache. Then click the monitor tab and click the quick boost button. Bingo, problem solved for me at least and for a while I guess that's is until the cache gets full again. Good luck.
It worked for me

Thanks. IT worked for me. I unchecked "dont keep activities" and now my home screen is back to normal.
I have exactly the same issue. My RAM gets full and it keeps restarting apps. When I push the home button it looks like home screen restarts and needs to load again. Verry annoying! Tried the developper setting thingy now. Did already a factory reset but the problem was there again after a week or so.

[Q] Screen timeout not working?

I have stock (rooted then unrooted) JC with APEX launcher. It sounds crazy but my phone screen doesn't turn off by itself.
There are several times I woke up in the morning to find out my phone screen was on overnight (screen must have turned on when I plugged in the charger). Right now, I turned on my phone just to see if the screen would turn off at 1) lock screen 2) apex home screen. neither works.
I tried all these with different timeout settings (15 sec, 30 sec, 1min, etc.).
Anyone having the same problem? Anyone with solution?

Yes rebooting always solves the issue but can i get a permanent fix? It's kinda annoying. I'm on GT-N7100 JB4.1.2 and i've never rooted.
Kinda glad i wasnt the only one having this issue. Happened to me yesterday. Kinda freaked me out as i dont want anything wrong with this phone.. reboot worked for me yesterday.
On a side note.. every once in awhile my youtube app goes to **** and it refuses to play videos.. it says network error yet i can do everything else... reboot fixes that too.

Yeah no kidding. I really don't want anything to go wrong with my phone. But unfortunately it has been kinda buggy from day one. A minor issue with the stock keyboard was solved after the 4.1.2 update. But the weird error with the Quick Commands thingy ain't getting sorted out, even after the update. Of course, reboots also never help.
Oh someone please tell me what's wrong with my phone The screen timeout thingy ain't working An unattended message or missed call means my display stays on till I turn it off manually A reboot would solve the issue but then it would come back again. Any permanent fix? Please help I've never rooted my phone.

Uninstall any apps that keep your screen on or go through the apps list and kill everything individually. imediashare keeps my screen on after I'm done using it cause it still wants to stay running.

Went through the 124 apps that had WAKE_LOCK permission. (Used Permission Explorer). If I count out the recently installed apps before which the problem had originally started, I guess there aren't any suspicious apps. Oops Aren't there any apps that forces the display to go off? ^_^

I'm just throwing it out there by maybe go into recovery and fix permissions? Clear the cache? Factory reset if all else fails I guess.

Hi. Having the same problem... However, i believe it has to do with the feature that prevents screen from turning off if you are looking at it. Try to turn it off and on. Perhaps it will help.
If you continue to have problems, just disable that feature... it is a good adon, but having the screen turn off tose battery is more important.
Hope it helps.

[Q] Closing animations not working?

When I am in an app and want to close it, I hit the home button (duh). However, sometimes, the app will freeze and just close. There will be no animations.
Also, sometimes, when the animations do occur, the keyboard is the only thing that does not close. It will just be the keyboard open over the homescreen.
These are both really annoying, and I haven't been able to find a solution. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!
P.S. I'm completely stock and unrooted.

Long press on home button not working

Hi,
My home button long press stopped working, I don't know why. Google Now doesn't show up when I long press, it used to...
I went to Settings » Apps » Configure Apps » Default Apps » Assist & voice input > Assist app and it's set to "Google app", so everything is configured properly.
The home button itself is working. When I press it, it goes to the home screen. And it«s also working for fingerprint unlocking. The only thing not working is long press to open Google Now.
I'm on a completely stock ROM, I only have Root + Xposed. I've already tried to disable Xposed and reboot to see if any modules were preventing the long press, but nope. The problem persists without Xposed.
What could it possibly be? Any thoughts?

Does the Google app work on its own? Did you install something like Greenify or Titanium Backup and freeze the Google app?
Yes, it works on its own. I have greenify, but I haven't freezed anything related to the Google app (just Google+). Everything else hibernated are non-Google apps.
I just disabled Greenify app, rebooted and the long press still does nothing. I guess the problem is not Greenify...

This was working a few days ago... And when I long pressed the home button, a white line started to appear around the screen from the bottom to the top until Google Now on Tap screen showed up. But now I got nothing.

could you try reinstalling google now to see if this persists?
I doubt the problem is Google Now. In the option I mentioned in the first post, you can pick the assist app and I switched to something else, it didn't work either...
But I'll try that anyway and report back...

Didn't work...
This is really bothering me because I don't even know what caused (is causing) this... I hate to be clueless like this
I cleared Cache and Dalvik/ART Cache, didn't fix anything (it introduced a bunch of other problems actually).
I'm desperate, I really wanted to fix this.
No one else has any ideas?

sorry buddy can't find any other way than previously suggested
It's OK, you did all you could and I appreciate that. Thanks.
This sucks man. Now I don't have that thing working and I have no reason why...
Did you find out the source of the problem? I've just finished setting up my new BlackBerry KEYone and noticed the same problem. Others report the feature works for them. I've installed the same apps I had on my previous phone.
Seems like I have to factory reset and set up everything again…
bump!
I have the same problem on huawei p8. It was working well then abruptly stopped.. i've followed all advice but nothing has resolved it.. If i turn off the reading text on screen and screenshot toggles in the assist options, google on tap loads but it's just the google now screen.. nothing about what is on screen. the reading text on screen was awesome especially for translations.. i hope someone can help us resolve this.

Go to settings ~~ app ~~Google ~~~delete cache and data..
For me its working..

Settings changing by themselves.

Anyone else having issues with their settings changing with out user input? For instance, the lock screen keeps resetting back to the theme default. And also the screen timer of inactivity keeps going from the one minute I had it set at to the 15 seconds default and I never touch it?
A Suggestion..

May I Make A Suggestion...
Please try a Factory Reset.. and Do Not restore any apps for a couple of hours.
If the problem still exist, it's your device.
If the problem goes away, it's one of your apps.

Well, as of right now it's only been the screen time and the wallpaper. The wallpaper in gonna contribute to the theme possibly. But the screen of time is weird. Thanks for the suggestion but since it's that minor in gonna hold off on factory reset until we're able to root and twrp so I can backup.
