Why is Dropbox so slow now? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

Why is Dropbox so slow now? It takes 5 minutes to download 1mb file. I have it set
to not limit the bandwith

I think that's just you. Works fine for me. It's not as fast as it used to be, but I upload and download fairly quickly.

I dont think so. When I started using Google Drive today, it downloads very fast. I've been using Dropbox since it was developed and up until recent weeks, its very slow. I just stopped using it and went to Google Drive

Everything internet related is slow to me on the S III... why you ask?
I used to have 4G on my S II, upgraded to my S III and there's no LTE here... haha

comparison

Hi All..
I'm deciding to upgrade to this monster from the 1st Samsung Epic 4g
With all things being equal..(mostly location) will this load web pages faster?
The Epic was much slower when I compared mine vs a friends T-MOBILE Samsung equivalent phone while on 3G a few days ago...
Should I take the plunge???
Mike
Do it man, and don't even look back! I had the tmobile vibrant back in the day, and this thing is far superior. Everything is better, browser, tw launcher, gps, etc etc.

Very slow WIFI?

Hi,
I have just purchased a Note 2 and there is no comparison in Wifi speed between my Note 2 and my old S3.
I have downloaded the same files in the same conditions with both devices and the S3 is almost two times faster than the Note 2.Anybody else with the same problem?

the specs are same abd there is only one difference that Note 2 is better in some parts...
it doesnt check with wifi speed as it may vary on some time (its not fault of phone) but it should matter if you are getting same dB of eifi dignal at samr place or not.
use WifiAnalyzer for that...

GN2 being used atleast 15 hours a day

Ok, so after I got this phone on launch I enjoyed using it alot, everything was good but since it was the international version and I have t mobile my data speeds were too slow. Than the T Mobile version came out and I sold the international version and got this one.
Now this is a perfect phone for me. But since its so powerful and get almost all the things I need done on daily basis with ease, my question is, if I get rid of mt tab and laptop and just do all things on this device you think it will burn out. Will it be able to hold strong for a good year?
I do alot of emails, video watching, skyping, gaming, right now I have been doing all those things off this phone and havent touched my tab or laptop.
How heavy you guys been using this?

Due to my situation I did exactly that with my Droid X. My Droid X lasted the fully 2 years and more using it as my main and mostly only computer. My Droid X is still going strong. So I believe that Galaxy Note 2 can do the same. But with all computers they will show age sooner or later.
But yes, I believe Galaxy Note 2 can last as a main computing device for a year or two.
Titanium Backup shows 770 apps in my Galaxy Note 2 . I use it daily for most computing usage. The only thing I need is Microsoft Office (Word) for customized text boxes that I use sometimes within documents. And without a physical keyboard, word processing can be a pain. So laptop or a tablet with optional physical keyboard can come in handy with that. But otherwise Galaxy Note 2 is a nice daily computer device. Still a laptop or a tablet with optional physical keyboard can sometimes come in handy.
You can also turn your Galaxy Note 2 into a desktop type computer too. Adding wireless mouse/keyboard, large monitor, etc. Shows how far these PPC (Pocket Personal Computer) devices and Android OS have come. But still as room to grow.

I have been using it non stop so I could understand but it's always a good idea to keep your laptop imho.
It will definitely last a year without any problems. The only thing that seems to go after about a year or so is the battery so eventually you will need to get that replaced. Other than that it should be fine. But a backup device is always a good idea!

Yes, the battery will go. But you can replace the battery with no problem.
Thanks for the response guys. So I guess what I will do is buy a smart dock, sell my laptop and desktop n keep my monitor keyboard and mouse for smart dock, and make N2 my main computing device.
I'll keep my N7 for just incase moments. this will be fun, i love this phone.

Images rendering poorly

Images have been rendering poorly ever since the lte switch got flipped in my area (seattle). Was wondering if anyone else was getting image distortions when they are using sprint lte?

Thanks for the reply. Yeah it happens on any rom and doesn't happen with 3g or wifi.
My wife's l900 is having the same issue. Wiped system in twrp & flashed new rom & the issue remains.
No issues here. I live about 30 minutes outside of Atlanta, Georgia. I was still using my Evo LTE when I got LTE in my area. Didn't have the problem before the tower upgrade, during or after. Since LTE became live in my area, the entire surrounding area is now fully blanketed in LTE!! I'm finally living Sprint again, have been for about 8 months now. Anyway, where I was going with that is that in none of the LTE areas I go through do I have that issue. Even when in a bad area and my phone switches back to 3G, then back to LTE, or when I switch from Wifi to LTE, I never have that issue. I can confirm this for my Note 2, Evo LTE, and my girlfriend's S3.
Are they still upgrading the towers where you're having this issue? Maybe it's due to work they are currently doing. I know when the tower by my house was getting upgraded, my 3G speeds plummeted to pathetic speeds! Even still, pictures would render fine, just took longer than normal.
Also, I'm assuming you're meaning that even once the picture is done rendering of all looks bad, not just while it's rendering. Correct?

No problem here at all. Stock mc2 unrooted.

Thanks for asking, I am LOVING it!!! I believe this is my favorite Android phone so far!! Used it for almost a week stock, not even rooted! That's by far the longest I have ever gone without rooting and flashing! Well, the longest I've gone when there was the ability to root anyway. I usually buy phones on launch day, and have to wait a little bit before a root exploit is found. Have to wait MUCH longer for s-off on HTC phones!! This is actually the latest after launch that I have bought a phone since..... I don't even remember really, back in the WinMo days though. I was calling Verizon early in the morning to preorder the Touch, Touch Pro, and then the Touch Pro 2 on the days they became available to preorder. I was really contemplating the S4, but I did something I haven't done in probably 10 years and bought a phone that hadn't JUST been released! Lol. The Note 2 is an amazing phone though, and totally won me over when comparing the two phones side by side! A lot of people say that you don't need a tablet if you have the Note 2, but I still use my Asus Infinity a lot! The Tegra 3 and full HD 10" display is simply amazing for gaming!! Plus, there's a few games optimized for the Tegra 3 and add special effects not available on devices without Tegra 3. GTA series, ShadowGun, Dead Trigger, Need for Speed, etc(I could keep going) are truly awesome on the Infinity! Having an HDMI port built in to the side makes it super easy to hook it up to my 55" Sony LED for an even more amazing experience, and using a PS3 controller to play makes it that much better!! Anyway, enough rambling on. I'm still running the shipped rom now, but I've got root and have TWRP installed so I'll be trying out some different roms in the morning, maybe even tonight if I don't start getting tired soon. Just bone stock though, the Note 2 is truly an INCREDIBLE phone!!!! So incredible that it pulled me out of a 7 or so year streak of nothing but HTC phones!

Amen my good sir. That is exactly how I feel. I have been flashing/tinkering every single smartphone I have since back in the Palm Treo days until this note. Just haven't have the desire yet with this phone. Yes, I'm pretty satisfied after a long list of HTC phones. Not that anything wrong with HTC. I'm not loyal to any brand, just which ever suites my need at the time.

Yes! I'm in Seattle and this has been happening to me for the past few weeks. I thought I was the only one! It seems like I have to turn the phone off for a few minutes and then back on to get the colors and images the way they should be. I haven't hard reset my phone yet, but I'm considering it. I haven't found a permanent fix for this problem yet but it seems like it would be a software problem.
I'm using Go Launcher EX and the stock un-rooted phone.

Note 4 Rants & Raves

Hey everyone I was joyed to receive my Galaxy Note 4 yesterday. I was still using the Note 2 and skipped over the Note 3. So I wanted to make a thread to very feedback on different people's experiences with and impressions on this device.
1. The pedometer does not work like it should it counts non stepping movements quite often.
2. I am having issues with wifi while using Google Play Store and downloading apps from the market. The application speed test shows my wifi has a 20 mbps connection but Google Play Store download applications at less than 500 kbps.

I returned mine due to GPS issues.
For many hours a week I stare at my screen playing a GPS game (Ingress) where the usual +/- 3meters accuracy is a tolerable, but my AT&T GN4 was regularly off by 40m or worse.
Definitely loving this battery life though ???
2 hours of screen on time

The pedometer on anything isn't completely accurate, the phone measures by a rocking motion. If you look at the pedometer while holding the phone, and rock it sideways....you will see it counts, so that is the method they chose to count each step.
Coming from an iPhone 5s with iOS 8.1 and Argus, I've also used a pedometer and it's off by 3 or 4 steps.
3 to 4 steps compared to 80 steps seems really abysmal. I hope I don't have that experience. Maybe there's something wrong with the stock pedometer feature. Couldn't you try again with another pedometer app?
