If i reflash the same rom on top of the other do i have to perform a wipe? And if i dont do a wipe will i lose my apps and data during the process?

No wipe would be needed and your data would be safe. I'd recommended wiping cache/dalvik as well.

I downloaded it,do i "flash" it for it to wipe, and do i still have to wipe data or does it do that by itself?
Help much appreciated

It wipes data, cache, and system for you. It tells you what its formatting as its flashing.

So i just flash it then and then i can flash rom

You flash it, then you must flash a ROM sometime afterwards or your phone won't boot into Android. It'll still boot into recovery, so you don't necessarily have to flash the ROM in the same session, but a ROM does need to be flashed (or a nandroid restore performed) before it will boot into Android.
After running flash all, your /system /data and /cache partitions are empty.

When I went from 4.0 to 4.1 I used the NO DATA version of his format tool and everything was AOK!

Did you still have to wipe data?

I should say if you are using Calks Format All, it will format /system /data and /cache and no need to wipe data again.
If you are using some other script then point out which one and I can take a look what it is doing.

No I did not have to wipe data to change from 4.0 to 4.1
This is the Blazer thread
If coming from a previous version of Blazer:
Don't flash using Hitman
Flash the modded format zip [Download] (It won't wipe data)
Flash Blazer ROM
Reboot, and Enjoy
Noob question here im sorry. i just got the tmobile gs2. it was already rooted and had cwm, so i got home downloaded infamous excited to flash it. I went to cwm wiped everything flashed and got bootloops. did I do something wrong?
Did you use darkside superwipe before flashing?
And try darkside cache wipe after you flash the rom.
Please give steps on exactly what you did so we can pinpoint where the issue is. I have flashed this rom many times over and never been on a boot loop.

Exactly what I did was, put the rom on my internal sd boot to cwm, the I wiped data, cache and dalvik. Then flashed the rom. It said it was all good so I rebooted and got boot bootloops. It goes to the Samsung screen then shows the infamous boot screen and keeps looping those.

I always have this issue. Wiping everything in cwm solves it for me

Do a nandroid. Install darkside super wipe and darkside cache wipe. Install ur rom ,super wipe, flash rom, let it sit for at least 5 minutes. Reboot and darkside cache wipe. Should boot as supposed to.
