I was wondering if anyone else was having the same problem as me or know a solution...
I have a Verizon gnex and emoji are not working anymore after i flashed the droid vicious 4.1.1 rom.
The emoji work fine when i send them and receive them to other Verizon phones, but when I receive emoji from other carriers such as AT&T it comes back as letters and symbols and a bunch of gibberish.
I don't know if this is because of jelly bean, the droid vicious rom, or because I am using handcent.
Anyone else experiencing this problem?

If you are using Handcent you need to download the Emoji plugin from the market. Emoji works fine for me on JB, VZW, Handcent with plugin.
I did forget to mention that I do have the emoji plugin for handcent
I can send emoji to other carriers and they will see it fine but when they send them back I cannot see them
I will try to reinstall the emoji plugin and see if that helps

Verizon blocks Emoji (and actually all Japanese text and all other foreign scripts) from entering their network so this is expected and intentional blocking on Verizons part.

The title pretty much says it all. Long texts (maybe 140-160) appear to send (after a long delay) but the recipient never gets them. This happens on CM9 and Paranoid. I haven't tried to flash stock ICS yet, but the issue is really frustrating. My friend only recently got a phone with unlimited texting, so I don't know if this has been going on before now. I don't know what could be the issue. Any ideas?
Also, no one can send me emoji - they just show up as two diamonds with ? marks in them. I tried all the popular SMS replacements, and installed the corresponding extra support packs for emoji. I did a wipe and installed JB (instead of ICS) and it still doesn't work. Another Sprint phone (original Evo running CM7) was able to receive them just fine. Is it possible something about Google Voice is interfering on the network end?
Thanks.
Maybe the google voice. I use cm9 and use chomp sms with the emoji packs. In setting I change it to cdma instead of the default tmobile setting. Also I tell it to receive the mms. Then tell my regular sms app to not notify me and do not get my mms.

So previous to my installation of CM10 I had been running the leaked TW JB Rom and using GoSMS as my texting app. The emojis worked perfectly, I could see them and I could send them. However, a tower in my area went down so I decided to use Google Voice for texting. Obviously there was no emoji support for it. When the tower seemed to be working again I resumed my use of GoSMS and surprisingly the emojis stopped working. When a friend notified me of this I sent myself emojis to test it and sure enough I got black diamonds with a white question mark when receiving. I tried Handcent and Chomp SMS and the same thing happened with those. So that's when I decided to flash CM10 rom hoping the emojis would work. When I got CM10 up and running I attempted to send myself emojis and I think the first time it may have worked (although I'm not positive as I do not remember LOL) but then I got the same black diamond. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem or had any fixes. See attached for the problem. That was in the stock messaging app on CM10 but I also tried it on GoSMS to no avail.
Okay so I learned what the problem was. Although I deleted Google Voice my number was still registered to it and so my texts were going through that. Because of Google Voice's lack of emoji support I was receiving the black diamond's with question marks instead of emojis. So for anyone with a similar problem, just remember to remove your number from Google Voice online at www . google . com /voice

Fantastic work mate! This worked for me as well, I just thought it was a Sprint issue, never would have guess it was Google Voice.
Up until recently I have been able to send and receive emojis with a friend who has an Iphone 3GS. I'm sending from a Galaxy S3, AT&T Stock Rooted rom, using Go SMS with the Go SMS Emoji plugin.
Friends Iphone is using IOS 6.0.1.
My Go SMS updated yesterday, so I am thinking it may be a problem with Go SMS. Just wanted to see if anyone else is having similar issues.
This is for sprint, please delete.
SMS sending fail After OTA Jelly Bean. Anyone having the same issues as me? I just got the OTA for jelly bean, and I now have issues sending text messages, everything else works fine.. Sprint has told me I need a new phone. wtf Anyone have any suggestions?
I have reset phone, also with sprint. Factory reset. Thanks in advance.
Yeah, I have the same problem. So does my buddy who also got this phone. Sucks because everything else is great. One minor bug with Bluetooth also. Oh yeah, and I had to uninstall and reinstall Chrome after it kept crashing, but that was easy.
If you find a fix, please let me know.
indeed there is an issue with sms on jb. i can't send sms with stock app,but i solved it with go sms pro.tried handcent sms, worked for a couple of days, then stopped.now i use go sms pro.
the solution is to set up the smsc number in a secret menu, revealed with *#*#8636#*#* ,but i get kicked out when i choose phone information.my guess is lg made it's own menu, 3845*#975# ,but i can't find anywhere the smsc settings.
so,the best solution now is to use 3rd party app.no big deal, since it has more features

I love Mighty Text - lets you send/receive SMS/MMS from PC just as if it was sent from phone and it even shows up in your phone.
It's great, but ever since I got my note 3 I can't get MMS to send through Mighty Text. I can send MMS through phone.
I also have Handcent SMS on the phone but that wasn't a problem with my S4 or previous phones.
Anyone have this issue or better yet a solution?
Obviously it's not critical sending text through MightyText still works but I'd like to be able to send MMS that way again.
Thanks

I have Note 3 and same issue. MMS is not sending.
If you are on Wifi, data must also be enabled for MMS to work. I am using Handcent.

I'm not using Handcent or any other text app and I'm having the same issue. Galaxy S3, Android 4.3 and MightyText 4.62. Any tips? Mobile Data is on but can't send group messages or MMS picture messages from the Chrome Web App. All I see if the little clock in the corner and that the message is pending. On the phone I have tried lots of things. Uninstall/Reinstall, Restart, unlink/link, clear cache and data. No dice. Any ideas appreciated.
Possible solution?
I'm on a Note 2, using Handcent and MightyText, and was having the same problem. The following seemed to help: in Handcent settings, I made Handcent my default program for MMS only (when it was default for both SMS and MMS, they didn't go through to MightyText). Hope this helps.
I also cannot send MMS/group message on the computer. I tried to install tweakker, but every time I run it, the app quits by itself... Any solution to this? I tried installing Handcent and making that the default for MMS, that did not help either.
I am running Kitkat on VZW HTC One.
I tried Hand (job) Cent but was not too impressed with the fact about when folks sent me MMS messages. It would want me download them.

It took me five minutes to figure out what all the settings mean and how they work. Maybe because I'm (23 years) old... too old for these tech gadgets. And MightyText still doesn't work for MMS/group message
I got mighty text working with MMS. You can't be on Wi-Fi at all with your device. It's slow, but it works when only on mobile data.

Doesn't work for me.
I installed Contacts+ and made it my default messaging app. Now MMS/group message works using MightyText.
MMS not sending MightyText/SGS4/Android 4.3
Hi
Did anyone come up with a solution to this as I'm hitting the same issue with my Samsung Galaxy S4 on Android 4.3? Everything else works really well - just cannot send MMS or Group messages (which I believe are sent as MMS too).
Have a support ticket open but ~2 weeks now and no reply.
Brian
I'm getting the messages on chrome telling me that its not connected and not working right. I have to keep resyncing them. Ahh it used to work so smooth.
Hello,
I am also running NOTE 3 and handcent with this issue. SMS works fine but MMS stopped working. it was all working fine on my Motorola RAZR HD XT925
going to test with other SMS tools and see what resulkts I get. Its a shame cause I really like handcent
