Replaced broken glass now phone won't power up - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The phone is DInc CMDA Verizon completely stock with the most recent OTA update.
I replaced the front glass on my wife's phone after she dropped it. The phone was working fine, but the glass was beginning to shard out so I replaced it. Now the phone won't power on. All it will do is:
Illuminate the red light by the Verizon Logo if I put in the battery and plug in the charger
Make one short buzz when I press the power button (which also extinguishes the red light.)
I stripped the phone back down and re-seated all the cables and the result is the same. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks.

Finally! Phone powers up, but the screen doesn't? How to get to media?
Well, the phone must have just need charging, because the LED has switched to green and it powers up ( I can get the soft keys to light up and occasionally the max volume sound will play if I spam the volume up key, but there is still no image on the LCD.
Is there any way to get to my data & pics on the phone?

[Q] HOX wont charge nor boot after a drop

Hey there guys,
I was repairing an HTC One X for someone i know, (she dropped it and broke her glass) but since i got it (ofc) i tried to turn it on.
No succes. So hey, why not walk to the charger and plug it in? No charging light.
Opened up the phone and checked all the connectors. they were fine.
During an hour or two charging, i was googling, and some people reported that holding vol +&- and power button would revive it. no success.
I'm not replacing her glass untill i know this isnt a hardware problem
Please, share your knowledge
Greetings,
djpbx
UPDATE: Suddenly the hox's led started to blink, idk anymore what i tried and buttons and power combinations but lets leave it going. fingers crossed then.
UPDATE: No boot after the blinks (just faded away again), put another battery in it and boom, it booted. only nothing on-screen lol, lets replace that screen.

One X solid red light after (attempt to) repair

I dropped my HOX and I got another HOX with working mainboard. I replaced it and everything worked except for very faint backlight and flickering. So I disassembled the phone and put it back together again. Now I can't start the phone anymore and the solid red led burns when connected to the charger....after I connect it it flickers one time, very fast. Does anyone have an idea what it could be? So pissed of right now...
Hi, if you don't have any power at all eg no vibration or lights on three bottons at the bottom, it could be that the power connecter is not properly plugged in. follow cabble down from power button, plug is hard to get at unless you unstick power button from cassie.
If you have some power check lcd is working by using a bright light near the screen and closely checking to see if you can see anything, could be backlight not working.
just my 2cents
feel bad for ya!

Okay, I have experienced the same thing and I'll tell you what I did to fix it. I dropped my HOX after owning for only a few days and the screen was cracked. I ordered a replacement LCD/ screen digitizer part and took it apart. One of the things that I found was that there was adhesive everywhere, including adhesive on the connection to the battery.
After it was taken apart, I attempted to test the new screen. It was then the LED turned solid red and the phone would not power on (even after 10 minutes of charging). What I did was remove the adhesive from he battery connector and disconnected the battery completely. I plugged it back in 10 seconds later and it turned back to flashing green (which is normal because I had several missed texts).
So my solution was just to unplug the battery and it worked just fine. The hardest part about this whole process was putting the cover back on, especially on the side with volume buttons! Hope that helps.
I have exactly the same problem. The difference is that now that I took it off charge, the red light is flickering on and off. I cannot get the display to show! Please please help.

Samsung Galaxy sIII Vibrates when charged for a few minutes, then just lights up

I found this phone in a parking space with an otter box case on it. Now it was probably ran over because the LCD is cracked and doesn't turn on (no hdmi-out to test that) but I was thinking I could fix it. When I plug it in, it just vibrates at even intervals and doesn't shut off. When I try to enter into recovery it stops vibrating as long as I'm holding the buttons, and then starts again as soon as I remove my grip. After waiting a bit, a blue LED showed up for a minute or so and the two bottom buttons lit up. Right now I have it charging, and when I click the power button those lights go on temporarily. Pressing the volume buttons, they make noise and light up.
It seems like it works, but is it worth fixing? Is there anything I should do to troubleshoot it? What is the vibration?
This is a new battery I bought online.
Regards,
Myles

It probably wouldn't be worth fixing, most people report their phones lost or stolen when things like this occur, which in turn gets the imei black listed. You could check on www.swappa.com if it has been yet, and it could be black listed in the future which would cause the phone to become unusable on any network/provider.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 running S3Rx MJ2 bootloader MJB modem and it is smooth

[Q] Phone wont boot after replacing charger port.

So here's how it went:
I opened the phone, replaced the port (the small boardlike thing)
assembled my phone to try it.
The phone started
Then I put all the screws and sim card But I didnt get signal no matter how long I waited
So I dissassembled it again. I was a bit harsh and broke the "Power" button. (the rubber thing that makes it bounce fell off, and an small metallic circle that probably completes the circuit fell off as well.
(Google "galaxy note 2 charger port" for a picture, cant post external links @[email protected])
Checked everything was plugged properly and tried to start it with the tip of a paper clip to complete the circuit where the power button should be (that small round thing)
Nothing happened so I googled a method to start it without using the powerbutton:
youtube: Gre9qaJyCZw
Basically its to plug the charger, wait for the battery logo to show, unplug, take out the battery and put it back in quickly.
So I assembled the phone again to try that and when I connect it to charge it the screen flashes for half a second (no words no nothing, it just brightens up for a bit) And then the red led that means its charging turns on after a couple of seconds.
After doing the trick, the led turns on blue....then the phone vibrates a bit(seems its starting up, but with no sound or nothing in the screen)
And then the "menu" soft key blinks a couple of times and then back to nothing
So I just have no idea what to do @[email protected] I dont mind replacing the button but I would rather not spend on it if there's something else wrong with the phone...any ideas?
And I just bought this to replace another phone that broke ;_;
EDIT::::::
I replaced the charger port for the old one and tried the starting trick. but to the same result: after doing the trick, the led turns on blue....then the phone vibrates a bit(seems its starting up, but with no sound or nothing in the screen)

you probably messed up the mainboard or some connections.
Try to power it on with microusb board disconnected.
Make sure every single connection to the main board is connected properly

Any suggestion as to how I can start the phone with the power button broken and without the microusb board?
I already checked all the connections that you can see when replacing the microusb board (the back side of the motherboard) Is there connections worth checking in the front?
Do those symptoms sound familiar for any specific problems? (Like non working screen or motherboard)
- Charging takes a couple of seconds to turn on the red led when connected but shows nothing on the screen.
- Trying to start it with taking out the battery trick makes the led turn blue, then the phone vibrates a bit, then the menu soft key flashes a couple of times.
Update: I found 2 more symptoms
1° Kept restarting the phone with the battery trick, and a couple of times I could hear the music of the phone starting up, but it seems to be at random or due to some factor I have not spotted yet
2° If I connect it to the computer it detects the phone and lets me access the files. Kies detects it as well
If phone can be accessed through kies I think you have broken some connection between logic board.
Power button and volume + - buttons should have the same round metal part, which will work after swapping.
I think you should give up, maybe there is still hope for repair.

Thats the weird thing. if you take a look at that phone's board, the only things that are within "breakable" range when you open it with a plastic tool are:
power button
charger port
earphones port
volume buttons
And they all seem fine except for the power button. there's no other flexors or anything even remotely close to where the tool was used. (and where I got a bit rough)

Battery too low. Charge for a while before powering on

Hi,
I just installed a new battery into my OnePlus 3, because the old one was starting to bulge and push against the screen.
After installing the new battery and attempting to boot with the charger plugged in, the phone won't boot past the 1+ screen.
It buzzes, shows the 1+ screen for a while and then goes dark and buzzes again etc. If I pull out the charger cable it goes dark instantly.
If I hold down the volume down button and the power button for 30sec it boots and shows a warning screen saying "Battery too low. Charge for a while before powering on". However, this screen only shows for a split second before going dark again.
I added a photo of the same screen on a different phone that I found online as the screen really disappears within a few milliseconds on my phone:
https://ibb.co/zJJ4fMf
Does anyone know what this means? Is the new battery faulty and should I return it? Is there something I should do to reset something? Can it be that it is simply not properly connected?
Any help is welcome! Thanks
you should leave the phone and let it charge until 100%

I let it charge all night, but obviously it is not charging...
is there anything important on the device
Just opened up my phone to put the old battery back in and that's when I saw that the connector had gotten loose. :silly:
There were some small pieces of tape on the original battery's connector that are supposed to hold it in place, so I fabricated my own out of Scotch. Hopefully that will hold the connector in place.
ok get back to me because i want to know if you have solved this
