So I flashed JB (http://theunlockr.com/2012/07/23/nearly-aosp-jelly-bean-rom/) on my phone and apparently this one doesn't have the play store or a functioning camera so I decided to flash http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1738197 instead.
Now when I go into my bootloader and choose recovery mode, it shows me a picture of a droid with a red exclamation triangle and won't let me do anything.
What do I do? I'm going nuts
-Mike
edit: I can't seem to get CWM cause I don't have rom manager installed on the phone (there is no play store) and when I try from the browser, it says it's already installed.

That's the stock recovery. If you want to flash custom ROMs, flash CWM recovery. Flash it via Fastboot.

That is the stock recovery. If you want to flash the official OTA, press vol down and power keys to get to the Recovery menu, otherwise, install CWM to flash custom TIME.

What zip? No. Download the cwm.img (I've downloaded it and attached to this post...) and put it in the same folder as Fastboot on your PC. Connect your phone to the PC and reboot it into Fastboot mode. Then enter the code I put above.
If you have no idea what "Fastboot" is (getting that impression), like I said, you need to read a bit more and learn it. THEN come back and flash your phone.

Alright, so I have fastboot on my computer and put the recovery-clock-5.5.0.2-maguro.img into the same folder.
I have my phone in fastboot mode, how exactly do I input "fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.2-maguro.img" code?
When I click on fastboot, a black window peers for a split second and goes away, so it isn't really clear what to do >_<

You open up the command line, and navigate to the file path where fastboot and the img are. You then input that line of code and hit enter. It'll then flash it. You can then reboot via "fastboot reboot".

Yes, open a normal command line, and navigate to the folder that has Fastboot in it. You don't actually click fastboot.exe ever. You use it from the command line. It doesn't have a UI, its not a program in that way. Its a command line tool.

i rooted my galaxy nexus last night, and today i was trying to put a rom on it, i went to wipe the cache, and now it wont boot past the google screen and im freaking out!
Before you flashed did you wipe system? Huh I bet not even so you only mention wipe cache....what about data , dalvik ?
Did you read directions in the op for the ROM?

it told me to wipe to factory, i tried doing that and it just froze, and now it wont boot. im trying to figure all this out but im a little over my head unfortunately.
Try booting into recovery and then wiping and flashing your ROM
i was trying to flash the codename android 1.6 rom, i cant post the link it wont let me
when i boot into recovery mode, it shows a droid with its chest open and a red exclamation point
I've never heard of that ROM but in fastboot will it let you use your volume and power keys to navigate to recovery? If not, try using fastboot commands on the computer to get into recovery (if you can? I'm not too acquainted with fastboot commands)
i can get into recovery but then it shows the droid with the red alert

Yes. Fastboot is used, in CMD (Windows) Gnome terminal (Ubuntu/Linux distributions) and the Mac OS terminal...
You need to install the ADB drivers and download the fastboot/adb files first, though (Check the Windows 8 thread (In my signature), all you need is in there...
Or, download a .Franco kernel (Check the developement section, for your device (GSM/verizon/Sprint) and search the forum...

recovery.img has to be the correct filename of your recovery, and the file has to be in the same folder where fastboot.exe is.

@Op, as I can see in your post your are still able to use fastboot usb.
Hopefully you still have the correct InsertCoin rom version.zip?
Attached the ADB Tools.zip, extract and place it somewhere you can find on your desktop (C:\Fastboot\ would be fine)
Extract 'InsertCoin rom version.zip' and take boot.img out.
Place the boot.img into C:\Fastboot\boot.img
Download clockworkmodrecovery.img from >> HERE and place it in that folder as well
In the folder I've placed a shortcut to CMD window, klick on it to open.
Now type the following:
Fastboot flash boot boot.img [Enter]
Fastboot flash recovery 'nameofrecovery.img' [Enter]
Fastboot erase cache [Enter]
Hopefully you are now able to come in CWM recovery, good luck!

Hmm. To have used custom firmware I'm sure you must have done this already.
Anyway. You need to sign up at HTC dev and follow the instructions there. They're quite detailed. After you've done that follow the previous instructions, they were really clear and will work with unlocked boot loader.
http://htcdev.com/bootloader/
--You don't lose data, but if there's anything super important on your external SD it's always best practice to backup.
(after you've installed CWM recvoery, do a backup using that. VERY important)
---forgot to mention: You need to pick "all other supported models" (The one x isn't listed, but it works fine).
OK Thanks for all your help guys. I really appreciate it. Ill post back if something goes wrong and again Thanks

Only problem he has then is that he can't get into CWM recovery and that's what he's complaining about I think.

I just got an HTC one from Best Buy Mobile (Verizon) yesterday. Turned S-Off using runrunner. Verified root but can not access recovery. I had the same issue with a S4 but it was a known issue for all that has updated to the 4.3.
I have tried all the suggestions in flashing TWRP. I am wondering if this is a Verizon related issue? Maybe they are putting something on their phones to prevent recovery?
HELP!!!!
Something is really jacked up with my phone. It kept saying Unfortunately Amazon has stopped. Over and over again. So I gave up and went to do a factory restore and data wipe. I first went to Super user and removed permanent root. I then tried to do a factory wipe through settings/backup & reset reset phone. It still gave me issues trying to enter recovery mode. It would get hung up and then reboot to a sort of safe mode version of the OS. (with a red disclaimer at the bottom). Then I tried to do factory reset by holding the volume down and power. Its doing the same thing. At this point I don't are about root I just want a working phone.
Any suggestions?

can you successfully fastboot flash a custom recovery? If not can you fastboot the stock recovery..?
To be completely honest, I would just run the RUU. should fix you right up
You could boot into RUU and flash the decrypted stock rom zip to get back to straight stock. The zip reflashes stock recovery. I don't see why that wouldn't work.
Edit: Oops. Didn't even notice andy just recommended the same thing lol. My fault.

Thats odd, i thought you had to have a recovery of some kind.
Here is what I would do:
Lets try Flashing CWM instead of TWRP in fastboot I will post it, and I will also post the stock recovery there to as well.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/kk2esdrx1g1b50p/recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.5-m7vzw.img
the image is easily installed via an unlocked bootloader with the following command:
fastboot flash recovery imagename.img
in this case: fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.5-m7vzw.img
See if it actually takes, and report back any errors.
If for some reason it does not, try booting into bootloader/fastboot then push the stock recovery:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/hgzgq84svzahvnv/htconerecovery_signed.img
Hopefully that will at least take and try to push CWM again , reboot bootloader and reboot into recovery . I am hoping that does it for you.
Go here: http://download.chainfire.eu/370/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.80.zip and dump SU on the root of your SD card and flash the SU.
I have seen people have all kind of weird issues with rum runner and I am just glad i had the official java card method used on mine. I also tend to just use a stock ROM which is just de-bloated.
Anyways I have used Santod040 roms in case i need to go back to pure stock ROM only: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2485319
You will need the odex one to run any OTA
The firmware is a different thing to flash.

I was able to install TWRP and also Superuser.
Here are the instructions I used. Maybe they will help someone else like me.
Power off your device, then press and hold Power and Volume Down until you're in the bootloader menu. Highlight FASTBOOT and press Power. You should see Fastboot USB highlighted in red.
Download the latest version of TWRP for your phone and carrier. Rename file to twrp.img.
Open a command prompt on your computer and navigate to your SDK directory. Type "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" and hit Enter.
Then I backed up my stock rom using TWRP
In TWRP's main menu, tap Reboot. It will tell you that you're not rooted and ask you to install SuperSU, so swipe to confirm. When you reboot your phone, you should see a notification that you need to install the SuperSU app. Open the notification and select TWRP, since the app from Google Play only works with S-OFF.
Worked flawlessly.
I installed NuSenseONE max and I love it so far.

place the name.img file in the same folder as the adb and fastboot executables, open command prompt as administrator for that directory, then type "fastboot flash recovery name.img" substitute name.img for the actual name of the file including extension and make sure there are no quotes around it. also, use "fastboot devices" or "adb devices" to make sure your phone is being recognized.

I'm willing to bet he flashed the wrong recovery. It's happened to a lot of people.
Hi everyone. I bought this Find 7 today in hopes that I could get it running. The previous owner apparently went to flash cm11 and he soft bricked it. The phone will power on to the start screen the the screen stays black and goes on and off. I can get to fastboot but not recovery. I have read in the oppo forums that I need to push the stock recovery too it but am unfamiliar with fastboot.. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I got it to boot up following this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/find-7/help/bricked-7-t2897376. Then I went to wipe it and I'm back where I started. The Msm Downloader is japanese so I don't understand what half of it means. Must have been a fluke it booted up.
I got it to boot up again. I'm not sure what I should do with it next. There is no recovery installed.
If you can get to fastboot, download a recovery, navigate to that recovery, use
fastboot flash recovery x.img
Where x is the name of the file. Hold down power and volume down until phone vibrates, and you should be in recovery

Which recovery are you trying to install??? OPPO stock recovery or other custom recoveries like TWRP??
By the way, as long as you can get into fastboot, everything is fixable, just a matter of how long it takes

Hmm it looks like you put the .img file in the wrong path. Can you show me the command you entered and the name of the TWRP recovery image you downloaded?

Yes I do. But I don't have time until 1 and half hour later
You can place the .img file anywhere you want, but you just have to specify the path and name of the recovery image on the fastboot flash command. For example: fastboot flash recovery C:\openrecovery-twrp-2.8.0.1-find7.img (this is if you put the recovery image in the root directory of C drive)

Try: fastboot oem unlock
I don't know if this will works directly since you probably don't have the OPPO driver and i'm not sure if you need it. By the way this method will wipe everything on the phone but i assume you don't have anything on the phone yet anyway :silly:

Did you also install the TWRP recovery? (By the way, you don't need the stock OPPO recovery since the newest TWRP can also flash ColorOS)

Hi,
I've really big problem and i hope that here i get sugestion...
1, I try flash new ROM to my phone. I copy ROM to "SD card" but in wrong version.
After this I into Flashtool get new Kernel and new ver. of TWRecovery. Then I go to recovery and start flashing as every time before...
2, But now I'm in bad sittuation. I can only get into recovery... When i want to go to bootloger, i can't. Every time when I go to bootloger from recovery, i'm back in recovery. Every time is phone reaction the same as I hold power up button+vol. up. And I'm only in recovery.
When I want transfer some ROM to phone, I can't. Cose when I Mount USB massstorage I see phone as "Elementary sys device". I have install ABD device drivers...
Changelog I can't get you, cose it's in "SD card"...
3, Please, Show me "the way" out of this sh*t... I use HTC HD2 few years, all time flashing. Now I use Xperia S for 3 yr. All time flashing. But now I'm in a wrong way ind can't get my phone to standby
Thank you for answers!

Boot phone into recovery, then run following command to copy the ROM to phone memory.
Code:
adb push /path/to/ROM.zip /sdcard/
Then flash the ROM via recovery!

Recovery is TWRP. The one with menu of install, wipe and all. You need to boot into that and use the adb on PC.

Yes, I'm in TWRP, exactly v.2.8.0.1, from topic of your ROM. Bud now I can't connect phone via ABD drivers. I try it via apps and two ways via Commans window.
I'm only in TWRP. I can't get to fastboot, I can't install ROM now, phone reaction is the same as I hold power up+vol up button.
I need one of two ways... 1,get phone connected with PC via fastboot to flash new kernel, boot.img and at least your ROM
2,get phone connected with PC via mass storage, to get some old ROM, flash it and get to fastboot...
For example:

Ah apologies, got lost while replying.
Anyways, lets start from basic. Can You try un-installing and installing the fastboot drivers? Because I suspect that's why You are not able to enter into fastboot mode.

Just a sec, what combination do You use to go into bootloader? Power up+volume up? That is not what Yo do, You disconnect the phone from cable, and then turn off the phone. Then just press volume up, and connect the phone. No other button is needed to be pressed.

Apologies, might have missed out Your quote earlier. So You now have ROM and other stuff in the phone. What problem are You facing Now? Also I would recommend the new released version b14c with kernel from b14d of nAOSP.

So You can't even go into bootloader now? That's weird and also makes this a bit complicated! Because You need to be able to go into bootloader mode to flash a new kernel which has recovery. Hope You are pressing only volume while connecting phone to PC. Drivers are fine as You were able to flash a kernel earlier. Which Kernel did You flash first? If You are able to go into bootloader, then flash this kernel via fastboot mode.

So You were able to flash the kernel I gave? Then You should be able to boot into CWM recovery. The Kernel logo will be of a Android bot.
