HTC sync manager issues - HTC One X

Hi. Having recently bought the HTC one X I installed HTC sync manager on my Windows 7 PC. I have connected the USB cable but when the program attempts to recognise the device I get a message: device unavailable Please reconnect your device [10001]. Has this happened to anyone else and can anyone offer a solution?
Any help appreciated.

You selected the sync option on the phone?
Also, try plugging the phone into a different USB port.
It's pretty slow at detecting the phone if I recall, I don't use it, it's pretty pointless in my opinion.

The problem wherein the device doesnt charge when connected directly, and starts charging after plugged in while switched off, is not unique to you. I have faced the same issue. However I have been unable to solve it fully. Cynogenmod Rom when installed does not have this issue, and seems to be unique to Sense based Roms.
Have you installed HTC Sync?
If so, try uninstalling all three HTC Software from Windows-HTC Sync, the Driver Setup, and BMP Driver.
Disconnect the phone.
Now reboot the PC.
Reinstall HTC software fully.
Reboot PC again.
Now start up HTC Sync, and now connect the Usb cable.

Thanks for your response, Actually I am unable to connect my device to pc, then how can i install any other ROM??
The procedure I have read from the websites require the PC to be connected with the device.
Also I didnt installed three things in my PC to sync, I just installed the HTC sync I downloaded it from the HTC website, Please tell where can I find the other two things.
Also there is an update, I have replaced the cable, Now when I connect the device to the PC, windows 7 shows un known device. But nothing is shown in the Mobile, no notification, & no list to select either "charge only" or "Disc Drive" etc
Thanks for your help
Regards
Hmm this sounds allmost exactly as USB-brick (i had one). Did you buy completely new phone or used one. You say its unrooted? Have you messed with your phone (flashing custom roms etc)?

Problem with Htc Sync/Driver

Hi,
i just received my One X.
I had a hard time to install HTC Sync and somehow managed in the end.
Now, if i connect the One X via usb it won´t show up in Htc Sync.
Under device manager it appears under "other>htc device"
So it cant load the driver correctly.
I´m on Win7 64bit.
Apparently very little people have problems with this software as google is not getting me anywhere.
Thanks in advance.
I just deinstalled htc sync now and try to reinstall. It always hangs on the installation of the driver "Htc driver installer 3.0.0.021"
This guy has exacly my problem and no answer neither:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/th...ks/161106-htc-usb-driver-installer-hangs.html
Could somebody tell me how the actual driver file is called in the device manager?
thx
No One? I can´t sync my contacts, thats quite a problem for me.
thx
I had problems using the Remote NDIS driver.
The solution for me was to uninstall HTC Sync and reinstall it without having HOX plugged into the USB port.

Install latest HTC sync manager from HTC website
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using xda app-developers app
Yes installed latest HTC Sync Manager however problem still persists.
man do you use win xp or win 7 ? if you are using win 7 you should have no difficulties installing the drivers and the latest htc sync manager.
Here is the link for the latest sync manager anyways : http://www.htc.com/www/software/htc-sync-manager/download/
My question is not about HTC sync manager.
I was able to connect to Internet-pass through with I was using ICS 4.0.4, after upgrading to JB I'm unable to connect to Internet pass through.
The error which I get is latest HTC sync application is not installed, I'm not talking about HTC sync manager here.
I've installed HTC sync application Version: 3.3.10
However this is not getting detected in my HTC One X ... I've also Installed MTP device driver...
I used Windows 8..when the problem occured, I downloaded the latest HTC Sync for HTC One X, which is 3.3.17..
But unfortunately the HTC Driver Installer that included was failed to be installed..
So I took a radical move, I reinstall my Windows 8..and tried to reinstall HTC Sync..
wal-lah, the HTC Driver Installer was installed successfully..
And the best of all I can use Internet Pass-through again! Cheers to my office internet speed, 1gbps..
I'm also on JB ROM right now..hope this will help you..
I have the same problem any solution guys?
Mine works perfectly well /: Windows 7 64-bit, latest Sync manager.
Same problem, phone is not detected in newest HTC Sync.
When I first plugged my phone in I didn't have Sync installed, I just wanted to copy some files on the phone. Even though Windows 7 popups said that driver installation failed, the phone showed up in file explorer and worked.
I am guessing I should somehow return everything to the state before I plugged the phone in, but how do I do that?
Cant pass through Internet
Mine is XP 32bit Pro.. Already Install HTC latest Sync.. Still Cant pass through... Any way to fix it ???
Thanks.

I actually managed to do it by installing HTC Sync manager from the link above and the updated drivers in device manager. Pass-through works now, though HTC Sync still doesn't show any devices connected

I have the same problem. Internet Pass through was working before Jelly bean update on my Dell Inspiron.Actually i used the PC internt to upgrade to JB. Now after the update, i am unable to connect on my Dell but it works fine on a HP laptop.
Internet pass through on the phone says you "either do not have the latest Sync manager....." Also, the sync manager does not install on my Dell Inspiron but gest easily installed on my XP.
I have been trying for almost a month now, but no luck..Need help!!

I'm facing the same issue.
Did anyone checked the same after JB update?
I use Win7 64 bits and have the same problem after the update to Android 4.1. Called HTC a few times but the are saying there is nothing wrong with the software but with my computer. I have to buy a new one according to them. Yeah, right. A 1500 euro I7 with 16gb ram.
I tried on sereval other computers and also the same problem. Maybe i have to buy new ones for them to.
Internet Pass-through HTC One X+_
Had that same problem after i updated to latest HTC Sync manager. You can solve it by downloading HTCdriver. Install and you are good to go.

URL for drivers plz
Solutions provided by HTC international call centre: a) JB doesn't work with HTC Sync any more. Uninstall it and replace with HTC Sync Manager (http://www.htc.com/www/softwar... b) Internet pass through still available but buried in a new sub-menu: Settings/Wireless and Networks/More/Mobile network sharing/USB network setting/Internet pass-through.
This worked for me!
Hello,
I have HTC Desire X, and the same problem was with me,
May this help you, same as me
Disable USB Debugging
Select charging mode when popup appears
Now check Internet pass-through from Settings > More
I'm on win 7 x64 and was unable to make internet pass-through work even after installing the latest HTC Sync.
So, after doing an extensive search over the internet, I found a solution which worked for me.
I manually installed 32-bit driver for MTP device(displayed in device manager) from the htc sync folder in program files(x86)(filename: WPDMTPHW.INF)
and internet pass-through started working.
Hope this might help!!!

[Q] HTC DESIRE 816 USB driver problem

Hi, My HTC Desire 816 is about 2 weeks old. I've had problems connecting the device to my personal computer (running Windows 7). I've reinstalled HTC Sync Manager several times, turned on USB Debugging, and even switched cables and ports but to no avail. When I try to update the driver, Windows faces an error saying it's unauthorized to install the driver for the device. However, the device connects perfectly to my office laptop also running Windows 7. I am able to transfer files on that system but not on my personal computer. The HTC website also has been of no help, except for asking to reinstall HTC Sync Manager. Please help. Thank You.
me too, need help
Tethering & Internet Pass Through
I have installed the latest version of HTC Sync Manager for my Desire 816 on Windows 7 and tried it on Windows XP as well.
When I connect my device for the first time after that, the drivers install automatically.
My system is recognizing the phone as a mass storage device.
But when I select the 'Internet pass through' connection type, it doesnt connect and after some time gives the error as
"Either you dont have the latest HTC drivers or ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,please get latest drivers by intalling latest HTC sync manger from the website"
I have tried to uninstall and re-install the HTC sync manager several times but had no success with Internet Pass through.
Might be the issue with the drivers, cant understand the reason.
Can anyone help me out with this.
I have also the same problem.

I am pretty sure that you guys have already tried all those, but just wanted to remind you all again as a benefit of doubt. HTC sync manager will install the required drivers usually, but in some cases due to firewall or any antivirus systems within our computer, only few files will get installed and other will get blocked. The best way to tackle this problem is to follow the below steps
1. Uninstall the HTC related drivers if installed partially previously.
2. Reboot the system - which is must
3. Then turn of your firewall or internet security or antivirus on your computer for 10 min or more
4. Connect the HTC 816 to computer using the different USB port that is not used before. (Every new USB port needs installing drivers. So hopefully this might help)
5. Install the HTC sync manager
Hopefully it should recognise. If not, try following the same steps with different USB cable.
Hit thanks if I helped you so that I will know the above steps worked for you guys too as they did work for me personally. All the best.

Impossible to recognize my HTC One M8, impossible to access to all my internal folder

Hi mates, my HTC One M8 is working well with its ViperOne M8 5.0.2, but I have a big problem suddenly appeared 7/10 days ago, that I haven’t still solved.
It’s impossible for my PC (any of my PC, I have 2) to recognize my HTC M8, then to accesso to its memory then to move files from/to. Impossible.
I tried all, I even tought that was a problem of Windows 8.1 so I tried to change/install new drivers, than to install whole Windows again, than I updated my PC even to Windows 10, hoping that this could help.. but all was useless. As everyone suggests, I installed every time HTC Sync, removing HTC Sync itself to leave only drivers… but nothing helped me.
Everytime I plugged my phone to PC, the usual bad sound informed me that a unknown device was connected…. what else can I do?
I really really don’t know what else can I do… I repeat, now I have window 10 home 64 bit on my notebook, and M8 with viperOne M8 ROM 5.0.2….
I even tried connection to another USB port, tried with another data cable, downloaded official or "alternative" HTC drivers... no improves.

may be this would help:
install usb universal driver.
htc usb latest driver.
then restart.
and then
go to bootloader, then connect usb to pc then connect to mobile htc m8. this will automatically install the android driver 1.0. after this may be your problem will solve.\
you can find on google how to goto bootloader.
if not success to go boot loader.
then try this
connect usb to pc.
then press power for 10 or 30 sec untill your phone completely turns off.
then press power + usb down then after 1 sec connect usb to mobile.
this will goto bootloader.
Thanks mate, I'll try!
