IMEI Number showing as 004999010640000 - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hey guys, after flashing my Nexus it seems the IMEI changed. Calls and stuff still works...
I just want to know if it would cause any trouble if I left it that way? I don't want to stuff up the phone more than I already have and I dont want to pay to fix it if there's no point.
Phones out of warranty so I don't really care, what I'm worried is if anyone else has this Issue and has the same IMEI Number causing the Mobile Phone Service Providers to either block me or I duhno... Rock up at my door with the police? Cause as I'm aware we're not supposed to change it...

Just wondering, does your phone still work with the generic imei (basic voice, text, data?)?

xda mini s not ringing out

someone told me to upgrade the firmware which i did and it still says the same thing please can anyone help me
hey there

and let me know if it work.
PPC-DOC
Same problem
Hi guys...I am quite new to the whole XDA thing...got a second hand XDA mini S, did a hard reset to start fresh. Trying to use it with Vodafone sim card though. Sim card seems ok, I can send and receive txt messages, but unable to make and receive calls, same problem...starts dialing and then shows 0.00 call ended, no signals, no beeps, nothing...tried with a headset, same stuff....I rang Vodafone to see if they can help with the call settings but they werent very helpful, as the phone is not one of theirs, they just said speak to O2, well I cant really as it is a second hand handset.
I was advice form Vodafone that perhaps the phone is locked to O2 and thats why it can't make any calls, but i can send and receive txt messages and the sim card is read as normal....i am quite confused. I have not tried to do any unlocking on the phone as the sim card seemed to work fine...Can anyone help....Can this be a result from the hard reset I've done..I read somewhere that other people were unable to make calls after hard reset.......
They maybe IMEI blocked, e.g. insurance claimed phone, stolen phone, etc. I think you can call them and see if the IMEI has been blocked. Search the forum, IMEI blocked issue have been discussed here.

Sorry for the stupid question but can you send me a link or directions how can I find a solutions to this IMEI blocked issue. Is there a software to unblock or change? Have not rang O2 to check, but I have the feeling that they will reffer me to the ebay seller.....as I am not a O2 customer, thats what they kind of said to me before.
You don't call O2.. just call your network service (Orange, T-Mobile, etc) providers, they may able to help you to check. Or just google for "IMEI block blacklist" for information.

If he can send and received text then its not IMEI barred, once a phone is IMEI bared you'll be unable to register with the network at all, and would look like the phone is SIM locked or just not getting signal.
It could be either, a bar on the network, low signal, or something weird with the SIM. Check the sim in another phone, if you can make calls its a hardware issue, if not then its a network issue
Thanks for the advice, sim card is working fine with other handsets, it's just a normal contract Voda sim card. Still can't get it to work with the XDA though. Did second hard reset and same stuff....can send/receive messages but canNOT make/receive calls. Does any one know if this may be result of the hard reset and is there any way of fixing it. If it is a hardware problem as suggested previously what is the way of sorting it out?
Me again...just tried it with O2 sim card....very strange...kept searching for the network for more than 10 min and nothing happened....had to turn it off at the end. 3 card don't work as well, same situation...searching for network....The Vodafone sim card seems to be the only one that gets full reception straight away but then again the problem with making calls remains...I have no idea what network the device was issued on before...
still cant get it to work tried all your ideas
nooooo i really like this phone but cant use it as a phone
do you know where i can get the cid unlocking proggy tried search but lost it

[Q] Phone Not Allowed MM#6

Hi, I have a ATT Note 2 and I keep getting the error "Phone Not Allowed MM#6" every time I turn it on. I can press the OK button and get to the home screen and use the phone normally except that it cannot send or receive texts or calls (emergency only). I am on the Solavei network and has been working fine for a few months, but the other day it just stopped one morning after I woke up.
I bought it from a store and he has assured me it wasn't stolen or anything like that. And the Solavei customer service could not get it working after several resets and whatnot. They sent me a new sim card which I have not received yet, but I am not very hopeful about that working... My WiFi works and I actually get signal bars but again, no 4G, no calls, no texts...
Is there anything I can do in the settings or anything? My phone does not have any custom roms or anything like that, just the regular ATT/Samsung Android 4.1.2. The only thing I changed on it was the option to enable the T-Mobile bands (Youtube: How to Enable T-Mobile 3G/4G AWS Bands on AT&T Galaxy Note 2 SGH-i317!). But I also tried without those bands and that didn't work either...
Please help, thanks in advance!
Try a complete factory reset with Odin. But that error sounds to me like someone reported the IMEI as stolen

Thanks. If in fact it was reported stolen, is there any way around that?

Go into your local store with the original recipt. They should be able to either tell you who reported it or give you a refund

there can be two reasons.. one is when you tried to change the bands on your phone there are more possibilities your IMEI on the phone would have corrupted and that is reason you might be getting that message, and second reason can be some one reported the phone stolen and it is blocked from the service provider end..
to validate that check your phone IMEI by dialing *#06# if that shows your valid IMEI then your phone must have got blocked by the service provider or incase if the IMEI shows some thing like null or 00/0 then the phone IMEI is corrupted, I can help your fixing your phone IMEI if it corrupted.. let me know if you still having this problem
Thanks everyone. I called up ATT and they confirmed that the phone was reported stolen. So I took it back to the store I got it from and he said that sometimes this happens so the company can get the insurance... Regardless, he reset and rooted my phone and it works again. My IMEI number shows up as well. Now the only thing is that I am not able to get all of the T-mobile bands back. Does anyone know about this?

Someone else sent my text to my friend

Wondering if my phone got hacked. I am running infamous rom on tmobile. Tonight my friend received my text messages from another number, and when my friend questioned who he was, he either didnt seem surprised or he was just playing along. If my phone did get hacked, do you guys have any advice like a system format, a setting I can change, or should I call tmobile directly?
Thank in advance

I'd call T-Mo directly and advise them of the situation. You might ask your buddy if he would participate and allow his carrier to use information to find what phone did the spoofing, and they can track the user via the IMEI number that is recorded when transmission is initiated. You MIGHT be required to have a police report to get the tracking done, so you ought to consider making the report to your local PD.
Be SURE your buddy isn't jerking your chain before you do anything, and I'd probably want to SEE the TM before any action on your part.
Aloha and Good Luck!
Bobolinko's advice is correct and the best course of action.
But to answer your specific question about the phoen being hacked...No, wiping it won't help. Neither will installing a different ROM or anything else.
If what your buddy is saying is actually happening, it's most likely not that someone have hacked into your phone and is remotely sending messages from your phone. It's far more likely that someone intercepted your cell signal, hacked the IMEI number (as stated above) and applied your IMEI number to another device, thus cloning your phone.
That message to your buddy came from another device entirely and never went through your phone at all. The problem is that this is very hard to fix. You can't have T Mobile jus tblock your IMEI number because then your phone won't work either. T Mobile can't distinguish between your phone and the cloned fake phone because both are broadcasting the same IMEI number, which is the identifier T Mobile uses to use your phone.
Have you left the United States recently and used your phone in another county? This whole scenario is vey common in Russia and other Eastern European countries. People got there on a vaction, use their phone, and immediately the phone's IMEI is captured and stolen. If you had mobile data turned on or used wifi, the user data on the phone is also likely compromised. Meaning all passwords, etc.
If you haven't left the US, it's much less likely, but still possible this is what happened.
Someone could have also physically looked at your phone, wrote down the IMEI number under the battery, and cloned it that way just to screw with you. No intercepted radio signals or anything. Just good old fashioned "copying the key". In that scenario it's almost certainly someone you know (unless you are in the habit of leaving your phone completely unattended around strangers).

[Q] Very bad service, not able to update, doesn't recognize other simcards

Something really weird is going on with my At&t galaxy s3. I'm new to this forum so I'll just explain what I'm experiencing and do my best to work through it will all of you. This phone got rooted by someone else and when I got it, the rooted program was in chinese and was acting all weird and wasn't getting good reception, although it was before it was rooted. I flashed it back to normal and it's acting very curious. It will receive an At&t simcard but the service bars will go from 1 bar to 4g to Edge to 1 bar all in a matter of 20 seconds or so and doesn't seem to work. It will occasionally work to send messages, make calls, but it seems like it can't ever receive calls. I checked and the IMEI number is still the same. Also, I had originally tried to unlock it to another carrier and when I put in different simcards (From other carriers such as verizon) the service bars don't show up, instead, all it shows is a cancel sign and doesn't ask for an activation code or anything. I'm honestly not sure what to do here, I thought I had broken the simcard reader and replaced that, but that made no difference. I'd greatly appreciate any help. Thanks!

Unlock is supposed to be permanent so it's odd that you lost it.
Now as for your problem, a lot of people are getting this issue lately, where unlocking damages their nv file. The solution can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43842387

Thanks for your quick response I have been looking for a long time and never saw this issue before. I'm not sure where I'll be able to find a replacement nv file...but i'll see if anyone I know has a galaxy s3 from at&t. Maybe once I do this the unlock issue won't be messed up anymore.

Need a tech

Does anyone know a tech in the Greater Toronto area that can fix my Note 3.
After reading for days i have pin pointed the problem to be with my efs folder. a bad flashed caused unknown basband and i cant get any network connection and my imei shows "null"
I have reached the end of my ability as a do it yourselfer and need help. Please if anyone knows of a tech in my area that can fix this let me know.
I have the N900T
Wasnt able to find an answer here but i did get my phone fixed.
They said they had to use a Super IMEI to fix my phone. The IMEI on my phone now no longer matches whats on the sticker.
Does anyone know what a "Super IMEI" is exactly and are there any draw backs now that i have this as opposed to what i had previously?
