This is a preview so don't ask to have features added, when its going to be available, etc.
There are FC, and bugs, etc. But if you want to mess around with Google Now and all it's glory:

runs really smooth. my headphone jack won't work with it though, doubt I'm the only one having this problem
It works. Did you make a call? There is a bug where the sound goes out if you make a call.
I found that when that happens, if I make another call, it will turn the sound back on.

First of all, I love Android on my Sprint Touch Pro2. The work being done here is awesome. It turns my phone into such an awesome toy.
The one thing keeping me from using Android more is the in call volume. It's just too low. It makes it so I can't really use the phone as a phone. I know this has been brought up before...but its the one feature I'm looking forward to the most....The ability to crank up the in-call sound. Anyone else agree?
Agreed. When I know I am going to need to make a couple calls I always switch back to winmo. In call volume is too low to use in a car or any public place.

+1
in call sound is the only reason i boot into winmo
i dont use sound for anything in winmo, i've never heard my ringtone and rarely use it for music or video), but the call volume needs work
Incoming call volume seems to be better than outgoing. anyone else having the same behavior?
that is sound
first of all that does deal with sound if you read up they dont know why the in call sound works at all it just did so to get it to be louder they need the sound to work first so yeah they should get fixed at the same time
My in call volume in WM is low too. Everything audio is low I noticed for the TP2.
I agree too. The call sound is more important than the other features. Winmo sound is fine for me. Can hardly hear in Android.
We realize the issue, but complaining about it doesnt help the situation, do some research and possibly you could fix it. You guys give the Devs no credit at all. Appreciate what is working.
I gotta say i'm pretty impressed with it (of course i'm starting with the latest build and so a lot of the earlier things have been worked out) I'm amazed that it's more snappy than the native wm 6.5, I give a lot of credit to the Devs and looking forward to testing out the other features, it's really breathed new life into my TP2 i'm happy to kick WM6.5 to the curb.
Well you got what you asked for. Supposedly the In-call volume issue has been fixed with the latest zimage update. I've yet to verify it (Updating at the moment)
Yeah!
Wow, that's awesome. The sound is really loud now. A huge improvement. Thanks to whoever made this happen!
i know im gonna get blasted for this but i guess i might not have searched hard enough. Can someone post a link for the Zimage update to help the sound?
No problem. It's all in the Project Tracking section of the webpage: http://sites.google.com/site/androidport/project-tracking
and right under "Current Kernel Build" is where you will find all the latest zimage updates and it's instructions on how to update it. If I'm not mistaken doesn't the Update Utility work? I wouldn't know since I barely use it.
Also in a few days the package will get updated to include the latest zimage incase your still having problems with it. You may need 7-zip http://www.7-zip.org/ for extracting the contents to your Windows PC. If your unsure which type of windows you have then you most likely have the 32-bit version.
I've been trying to find a way to counter the low audio output from the Gnex. I thought the volume was an ICS issue considering the phone's output can handle quite alot more than the silent cricket whispering output it already has. Just when I thought JB had fixed this issue, turns out it hasn't. It's still the same old intensely low audio output.
I've tried almost everything, franco kernel app, Put the phone on Level 3 Ezkeel's MOD and high audio output, Volume+ (Seems to have no effect on JB, perhaps in need of an update?), Equalizer (Crashes instantly, can't even set options or anything)
With headphone's the phone's a BEAST. No doubt about it, Love it. But I can't seem to hear my calls and messages. It's either upset colleagues or an upset gf that assumes I'm ignoring them. Regardless, both are out to get me. I'd love to hear my phone ringing when I'm outside, But it seems "Air" is alot louder than my phones audible level, can't even hear it ringing in my own pocket!
That modded JellyBean rom with Awesome Beats or whatever sounded the loudest in my testing. Of course I wasn't really paying attention at the time or I would've got my old phone out and a decibel meter app to test it .
Hmm. Going to attempt something later today
Not to get off topic here, but I installed CM9 RC and it has higher audio levels than stock, but after it finishes playing any sound on the speaker, a second or 2 later you get this pop or click (assumably the speaker turning off). Not only is that annoying, doesn´t that damage the speaker?
Does this modded Jelly Bean ROM do something similar?

That would damage it in the sense, slowly though. It's like forcing a higher level of output than it can handle. Normally the sound should fade, but if it pops that can damage the speaker. Also the JellyBean is pretty legit from Google. Low audio but nothing ezekeel audio mods can't fix

Need some advice or trouble shooting tips.
Lately, my DHD is experiencing a sharp popping sound when I wake the device, use an app, or receive messages via Whatsapp or Line.
Presenting I am on JB and had been on AOSP for a long while. The popping sound only started recently after a period of testing Sense 3.6 and Sense 4 ROM's. Going back to AOSP, I noticed the sound right away. Even with all touch options disabled, the sound remains. It's coming from the rear speaker and even if the device is on mute, the sound can be heard.
As well, with online messaging, if I put my ear on the speaker, you can heard a slight hiss and it gradually gets louder until the pop sound cracks.
This problem doesn't happen with the new Sense ROM's I tested. What I have done was tested different AOSP and JB ROM's with the same result.
My next plan is to download a stock version on GB (ARHD is the choice I selected) and test the issue there. However, I am starting to think that I should return straight back to unrooted stock ROM, but I am not sure if that is really necessary.
My question is,,,, has anyone experienced this sound issue and if so, are there any suggestions or tips? As well, could someone experienced actually offer an explanation for the sound. Is my device on its' last legs?
I am thinking it might be kernel or radio related. I really don't know and hope someone can shed some light on this subject.

I highly doubt that it's software related. I've not seen anyone report any such kind of behavior and neither have I experienced it with either Sense or AOSP roms. The fact that the pop sound does not happen when you're on Sense roms is a bit strange, however I think it maybe explainable by the fact AOSP versions generally have boosted volume levels for better sound.
Personally, I think that you should get the speaker module replaced before it breaks down completely (which I believe is a very real possibility given the nature of the problem you've stated).
Just tested ARHD and when I make a call, there is a slight tick or crackle sound coming from the front ear piece. The sound is faint, but when put the phone to my ear and press the call button, I can clearly hear it.
I'm going to test the original radio and see if that sound remains. If it does, it seems the previous post above just might be my issue and I really hope not.
You could also try a can of compressed air.
By the way buddy, you've been here too long to be posting in the wrong section

LOL,, did I? HTC Desire HD General Section? Maybe I did... Where should I post?
As for the air compressor, I did that a couple of months ago. I'll give it a go.
As for changing the radio, I did and still have that click with calls. Looking grim at the moment.
It's a thin line between where to post, but yours is a question.

I am able to make calls, my phone is very much in solid order for everything else. I have reset the factory settings, and switched from a 4.1 AOSP rom to a 4.2 Beanstalk rom to no avail. Whenever somebody calls me, I can see them calling me, and it rings... but as soon as I pick it up, I don't hear anything on the other side. Not a single thing.
This has been a real problem for the last couple weeks.
Anybody know what's the problem here? If I make a call, everything is fine, it's just receiving it that's bad. A factory reset and flashing new roms and kernels (lightning zap) made no difference.
Try flashing back to stock everything, if it still does it, I would guess it's hardware.
Can you listen to voicemails? Can you get any sound play through the speaker?
What controls the voice / sound settings when making a call over apps like Facebook messenger?
Currently i am running the emotion rom v16.1 and calls over messenger work great. I switched to the noble rom, which runs great... but I was unable to use messenger to make calls. When I made a call, the call "dialed out" then connected and the recipient was able to hear me but I could not hear them. It worked for a short period of time on speaker but stopped when the screen timed out and I was unable to regain it. When I hit the speaker button you could hear the other end for a split second then gone again. I even tried using earphones and had the same results... split second then gone.
I am running the emotion 6.0.1 rom, v3b of Lou's data fix and stock kernel .
Is there a specific file to alter... change... etc?
