Hey, if anyhow could help that would be great. I followed ask the instructions to flash Clockwork mod on my t999. Odin recognized phone, i pda'd clockworkmod.tar file, it passed and rebooted. Then i held power up+home+power and entered Android system recovery. Have done a few times and i continue to get Android system recovery. Obviously my phone isn't rooted yet, just got it. Is there an alternate way to get clockwork mod or am i doing something wrong? Thank you, any help is much appreciated...

Ok, i just read the instructions again and it won't be possible to get past step 3 then
1. Copy cwm_superuserv3.0.7.zip
2.power off the phone
3. Bout your phone into clockworkmod
So if you know a way i can root my phone without being clockworkmod, can you paste a link? Because it's telling me i need clockworkmod to root phone....thanks again
Check out MrRobinsons thread in development. Very easy!

Have you installed recent LH2 OTA update? This is a known issue with this update, quite well described here. To root your phone, you should flash CWM with ODIN, then don't let the phone boot normally (by pulling out the battery), then boot in CWM once and flash root. Finally, after booting the phone normally, CWM will be rewritten, but you will have rooted phone. Hope this helps.
There's another really helpful tutorial on rooting without tripping the flash counter. It's stickied around here somewhere, I'll see if I can find it.

By the way, it worked perfectly, i suggest though, when in Odin, uncheck auto reboot, so it didn't reboot after it passes, then i just pulled battery out and tried booting in CWM and it worked. Guess you can't let it reboot or you have to do it again. My last question is, do i keep my phone in usb debugging mode with root on stock rom? I had a galaxy s2 and i know some custom roms had to have usb debugging on. Just not sure if stock with root i should or shouldn't. Thanks again, i hit all the thanks meters on this one, was driving me nuts....Jake

Uncheck Autoreboot in Odin. and once odin is completed just take your battery out and boot straight in recovery.
and then i go into recovery holding volume up, home and power right?

are you the jellybean leak?
no i havent been able to root it yet.
I have a Sprint Galaxy S3, rooted, Clockworkmod, ROM Manager and running CM 10.1.1 stable. My phone reception seemed to have taken a dive, so I started researching flashing a new radio in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1787677
At some point in the thread, somebody scared me into doing this:
If youve never backed up youre nvram before u might be SOL but just in case
In terminal emulator type:
Su (press enter)
Reboot nvrestore (press enter)
Which I did (not the brightest move on my part, apparently). Now when the phone starts I get the Samsung sign, the Galaxy S3 sign with the Cyanogenmod man at the bottom, then it buzzes and starts over again. I cannot get into recovery. Any ideas? Am I SOL?
Thanks
Does it boot up to the OS ? If it does you can try loading Recovery again with either Flash Img GUI, or Rom Manager. Also for Firmware / modem / baseband I would suggest heading over to freeza's thread HERE.

I'd love to but I can't get the PC to recognize the phone. :/
Do you consider yourself to be a great recovery enterer? I'm being totally serious. Took me some time to learn how to do it. Or are you the type that only goes into recovery by holding Power in android, or you click recovery in Rom Manager?
I would suggest to hold Power, Home and the Up Volume Button until you see the samsung logo with Recovery on the top. If that doesn't work, pull battery, and now try download mode, by holding Down Volume button and Power and Home.
Good Luck my friend.

Couldn't get into recovery at all. I'm almost done flashing stock ROM through Odin, that was the only way the PC would recognize the phone. Hoping this does the job.
Did you get this sorted out ?

Because you can not let the phone boot after the flash. You have to pull the battery once it completes. Then put it back in and boot into recovery. Then you have to flash teamepic.zip to root. If not once you boot up it will overwrite the recovery with stock.
Whatever method your doing will tell you to not let the phone boot up. Your missing that step. Make sure reboot is not checked on odin.

I think, even after that you might end up in the stock recovery after one or two reboots. Check this link that talks about removing a couple of files that cause this issue "What to do if Phone Boots into Stock Recovery (Android Recovery) instead of CWM".
Only follow the steps under the section "What to do if Phone Boots into Stock Recovery (Android Recovery) instead of CWM". Rest of the guide is not applicable to SPH L710 Galaxy S3 Sprint. (@edfunkycold suggested to remove the link, but this link was really useful when I first installed the CWM on my phone and kept getting the stock recovery back).
@gndlgisdbna
That's talking about i9300 that's the international S3 anything that has to do with that device will brick a US variant S3 please edit and remove that link before a noob follows that link and messes up their phone.

Please advise what should I do now,
My N5100 stuck at boot, the part where is shows "Samsung GALAXY Note 8.0 GT-N5100", it just stuck there and not boot.
I tried boot into recovery and reset still no use.
I can boot into Download mode as well as PhilZ Touch Recovery though.
What should I flash using Odin to make my Note 8 back to normal again?
Really thanks alot for the guide.

I have been able to get passed the lockup by holding the up volume button after powering on.
keep it held until you get to the lock screen. About a 2 minute wait.

thanks, I've tried, no help...
I have had similar. For me it just reboots into the custom recovery all the time.
One way would be to flash a new ROM using Android Toolkit

Hi, this happened to me once and what I did is quite drastic, but I flashed a new ROM, as other methods for me simply didn't work ... the time it took to redownload my apps and set up the note 8.0 was minimal compared to the frustration I was having with note 8.0.
I put a rom (omni rom in my case, or you could use whatever you want such as a backup of your old rom) on my sdcard and just flashed it using my recovery (which is twrp, and which I could boot into). Since you can boot into PhilZ recovery, this method might work if you want to do it.
One last thing, the title of my reply mentions the android toolkit (which is now the skipsoft unified android toolkit). I did not have a rom on my device, so I used the toolkit to put a zip file of a rom on my device.
Hope this helps,

Download Odin, get the stock rom from http://www.sammobile.com
Boot into download mode, power button, volume down and the home button
Click continue, start Odin, now is the time to connect the tablet to your pc
Uncheck reboot on the left side
Click on pda, the file you downloaded from sam mobile is a zip file, open it to reveal the md5 file, place the md5 file on the desktop so it's easy to find
It should recognize the file in Odin and once it's done it should say succeeded 1
Then unplug the cord and reboot your tablet if it already hasn't done so. Holding down the power button until it turns off should do the trick. Any questions feel free to post here
