I'm currently having an issue charging my phone at home. It charges fine when plugged into the computer, but won't charge when plugged into the wall charger. Just wondering if anyone has run into this or has any ideas or suggestions. thanks
Does your wall charger work for charging other devices? Sounds like you have a defective wall charger from the info you have given.

My Desire has already connected to the AC but it had done nothing after an overnight charged. Any solution for this? The LED is on when it connected to the AC.
Same here since a few days
anyone with a solution?
If it is refusing to charge, maybe a dead battery or something like that? If so talk to HTC about it. Could be something else but very much unlikely.
Usb and car charger seem to work fortunately. Probably a broken ac adaptor . Strange because the orange charging led is lit while plugged in however it's not charging. Whrn I plugged in an old cigarette to usb charger in my car which resulted in amessage from the phonr cmplaining that there is not enough current. Not the case with the ac adaptor. Charging led is on but using battery instead of charging
Hi,
I've dropped my phone while charging and after that I could not charge it. What happened was that the two hooks on the mini-USB port were ripped off and the contact was imperfect. I replaced the USB-miniUSB cable and it worked, I've had no problems since. I hope that your problem is as easy as this.
Anyone know what needs plugging in to get this phone to charge please? I have always used it with both cables plugged in. Suddenly I am trying not to bother using the USB cable and it only charges in the cradle for a minute or so before the orange light goes off. With the phone plugged in OR with the battery plugged into the slot on the cradle. (therefore this doesnt seem to be to do with the charging circuits in the phone itself). I dont think it has always done this.
So I tried plugging the USB cable back in and hey presto, my brand new battery starts to charge properly.
Does anyone know if this means that the ac adapter connected to the cradle is malfunctioning and not putting out enough power? Or enough power constantly enough to continue putting out the necessary 5v? Or is it only supposed to work with both cables plugged in? When I unplug the ac adapter, the battery stops charging so I cant figure out where the cradle is getting its 5v to charge! Other have reported, worryingly, that the unit should charge with the USB cable alone.
I did look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=282983 but they all talk about after market chargers not working, whereas I am pretty sure mine is the original Siemens sx66 charger. Does anyone think that the adapter is failing and eventually BOTH the power cable AND the USB cable wont put out enough power to charge the unit?
I've got a big issue at the moment, when I plug in my GNexus in the AC adapter charger it charges super god damn slow! This is a brand new GNexus that I just picked up today, it came with the original boxing materials and is currently unlocked/rooted running JellyBellyv3 (4.1.1)...
Can anyone please assist me with wtf is going on there? If this keeps up it'll take me all night to fully charge my phone! To give you an idea of how slow it's charging I've had it plugged it for the last 30 minutes and the percantage went from 35% to %36!?!?
Please help!
With the in-box charger and cable? When you plug into the wall, does the phone indicate "charging (AC)"?

Nope, there's no indication that its charging at all with the in-box chargee and cord. However when I use the same cord with my Apple ac plug it indicates that's its charging. But this is where the issue comes into play, it charges super super slow! At this point I don't know if its a phone issue or cord/ac adapter issue? :banghead:

I'm pretty sure something is wrong with the stock charger. The apple one doesn't have enough amperage to charge fast enough. Get a new wall charger..

Thing is if he has a normal Apple wall charger it has the same amperage (1A) as the stock Samsung one...
Sounds like a phone problem? Unless you can charge completely normally with a different cable/charger combo, and/or can charge other USB devices off your stock Samsung charger.
Recently I've noticed that my Gnex battery will LOOSE charge when plugged into any power source that isn't the Samsung charger. Weird right? If i plug it into my laptop, car charger, an LG wall charger the battery will drain. It has happened multiple times where i've hit 15% battery life and plugged it into my laptop or car charger and it will loose a 1% about every 2-3 minutes.
I've switched roms with no luck. What is going on?
Its not uncommon for this to happen from a laptop port - especially if the phone is being used while plugged in. The USB output on laptops is likely not very high.
Check the amperage of the alternative chargers you are using. If its too low, they won't be able to keep up. Make sure its the same as what the stock Samsung one puts out. Can't recall its exact specs off the top of my head...
Laptop and car charger are 500mah or less. Your phone is using battery faster that it's recharging. Nothing odd about that.
charger
I'm charging on my laptop with a cable of blackberry and no loss there. Charging with at the wall I'm using only samsung utilities so I can't help you out there..
Despite that I don't understand what that has anything to do with rom's?
As the title says. It actually does charge slow when that happens. But sometimes I'll replug the charger in and the pop up will stop happening and then it seems as if it's back to charging normally.
Mine does it all the time when I charge it in my truck.
Have had same problem. Given it likes your charger (Charger giving it enough Amps) It's your charging cord.
Try a new cord, or if you're using a micro-usb to android C adapter, try new adapter.
Worked for me. Good Luck !
