Greetings,
I just activated my Sprint Galaxy S3 32GB Galaxy S3
I just Deactivated my NEVER ROOTED Sprint GALAXY S2 AKA Epic 4G Touch
Prviously I had two apps that worked most of the time on the S2
I had AllCallRecorder by Android Labs which would do an adequate job of recording both sides of a telephone conversation withoiut having to use the speakerphone. ..After a ceretain amount of time though the app would create a second file called "unknown" which would continue recording the rest of the conversation. Sometimes if the call lasted two hours or more a third or fourth file would be created.
I also tried Total recall which sometimes would record, and sometimes wouldn't.
I also used Volume Boost by Meltus which did ramp up volume on S2
Onto the Sprint Galaxy S3, ALLCALLRECORDER seems to work though after an OTA update it only recorded the other party NOT me until I rebooted and then it seemed to come back to life . The Volume boost amplifier failed until I uninstalled and reinstalled that app.
My question for the genuises of this forum is WITHOUT ROOTING my Sprint Galaxy S3 what is the best Telephone Call recording software that works with the Galaxy S3 as well as an app to really amp up Volume.
I hope I can do this without being rooted, but if I have to root which apps would I use for volume noost and call recorders and is there a a painless guide for dummies?
Lastly, but not so important, is there an app for a non rooted Sprint galaxy s3 that gets rid of the DOCK and can give me a 5x5 icon grid?
Thanks so much,
JAS

Hi all,
I almost put 2-3 days to investigate Apps for call recording on my SGSII. I installed many Apps on it, however, none of them seems working.
Bottom line is apparently, there is hardware limitation in Android which prevents accessing the incoming voice. and most of the programs work when voice is coming from the speaker.
This seems ridiculous! I mean, come on! I had Nokia 5 years ago and had nice Apps working perfectly for call recording with crystal clear quality.
If there is not such an App and if Android world is unable to perform such an easy task, I will definitely, switch back to Nokia.
Please let me know if you know any WORKING program with good quality without putting the phone on speaker.
Thanks for your time.

I believe total recall works if you select wav as the file format.

Their own website states that the speaker phone must be turned on. So I will keep looking Phone call recording
To record phone calls, start recording, and put the speaker on during the call. Please beware that this doesn't work on all devices.
To record incoming calls, uncheck Pause on incall in the advanced settings, start recording, wait for a call, and put the speaker on. Warning: this may cause certain phones to crash when the incoming call arrives." Need something for a sgh-t989
there are 2 fine solutions mate, that already works for me on stock rom (root required) or cm7:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.killermobile.totalrecall.s2.market
or
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.skvalex.callrecorder (pointed by nilsido, too)
both works wonderful.
Hi there,
I just received my Note 2 and on several occasions while I'm on a regular call (not wifi calling) I will lose the sound and just hear some sort of robotic beeps, as if someone was just hitting the microphone. The person on the other end can hear me fine. Activating / deactivating the speaker seems to bring the sound back although it might be a coincidence. Does this sound like a defective device to you guys?
You are probably using the Jedi rom. You can change the ringtone in settings.
Sidenote: You posted in the wrong section.

Thanks for the answer. It actually mutes the caller and does some r2d2 noises instead in the middle of the call, but on a serious note, the phone is still 100% stock.
I'm unsure where to post, I am not allowed to post in dev.
I think it is tmobile's network getting stupid every so often.
I had the same thing on my Galaxy S III and S II
My company has a Bunch of Samsung Galaxy phones and we were all takling about this the other day.
Doesn't seem to be device specific.

Thanks, it gives me hope about the device!
I have a Sprint Galaxy Nexus (Toroplus) on the stick 4.2.1 ROM, rooted with the Galaxy Nexus ToolKit V11.0.0. Before I was on 4.2.1 nonrooted, and I had to basically blow away my old ROM to get this running.
Anyway, since getting on 4.2.1 rooted, I've noticed the call volume is super loud, loud enough to use as a speakerphone. The volume is as far down as it can go, which is almost at the far left side of the slider but not all the way (don't remember if this is how it behaved previously). Adjusting the volume louder actually doesn't seem to make it louder.
Do any of you have ideas as to what has caused this, and how to remedy it? Thank you!
Edit: After several reboots this seems to have cleared up on its own. If I encounter this again or find out anything else I'll update this thread.
Hi Friends,
I was wondering if there is a way to increase the volume of the note 10 because unfortunately the assigned volume to it it's very poor, i am been with Saumsung phones since the first note edge and if i remember right it used to have the same problem and there is been always a way to increase the volume in all of them, so please if any of you know how to do it without have to root it i will really appreciate if you guide me on how to do it and if there is no other way without root well i will have to do it because as i say the volume of the note 10+ is very poor as its flash light when i have to use it as flash light, the note 8 flash light was very strong i loved it.
Well please if there is a way on how to increase the volume in the note 10+ please let me know...
Try V4A or, if rooted, try modding the mixer_gains.xml file
Either there is something wrong with your N10+, or there is something wrong with my Note 8, because I have both and here my Note 10+ is much brighter than my old N8, which I gave to my wife, not even close. As far as sound volume goes, there is a setting to adjust different source levels and for example on mine system sounds were halfway up, other sources at 70-80%, all from factory, maybe yours is not set correctly. Also there is equalizer, which again is normally set in the middle for all frequencies, you can push that all the way up and try to play with Dolby settings: with Dolby on sound is more spread out over volume range, so quiet sounds are too low sometimes, without dolby sound is more compressed, so should sound louder.
You can try volume booster app, there are many, but look for the one from goodev, in playstore it works sistem wide, and even boosts the sound for the akg earphones , be careful with the amount of boost, try from 5% at first
I personally miss the speaker phone boost button that the note 9 had when it launched, before the UI update. That option was conveniently located at the bottom left of the dialer screen if I remember correctly. After I updated to the new UI the option for speaker phone volume boost went bye bye. Hopefully they bring it back with a later update. For the life of me I have no idea why they would get rid of that very useful function.
Even my note 10+ speaker volume absolutely is garbage. Gotta practically put the phone next to my ear while driving to hear.

Hi. Its been around 3 years. Are you still using Note 10 + ?.
Did you fix your call speaker volume?
Hi,
I have an S4 mini (i9195) that's still going strong and in fact working better than ever since I installed Lineage 17.1.
An elderley relative was looking for a similar small phone and I got her a refurbished i9195i, which I've also installed Lineage on. Everything seems to work fine, but one issue is that my aunt is going a bit deaf and finds the call volume to be low compared to her previous phone, even when its on full.
Is there any way to increase the volume? I've gone through (I think) all the settings in Lineage but can't find any additional volume options in the call settings. Is there any mod/hack that could increase the call volume for the i9195i, and if so, would I need root access to do it?
Thanks
a bit late to this but in case you were unaware she could just turn on speaker right on the phone screen. Or use headphones as I do.
