Getting the wired USB-Xbox Controller to work - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hey guys,
I've been playing around with my new USB-Host adapter at the time but am not able to get my wired Xbox-controller to work..
When I plug it in the ring on it will blink, but it just doesn't get recognized in any game. GTA III doesn't work, Dead Trigger...just nothing.
I then downloaded the test-app of the Joystick Center app and it reconlgnized the controller. But I don't want to spend 5$ before I'm really sure that there is no other way to get it to work...because I read everywhere how ICS now should be capable of handling all this stuff^^
Maybe someone of you has a solution?
Thanks in advance,
Fabi

[HELP NEEDED] N64 to USB for Emulator FUN! [ACCESSORY REVIEW]

I ran into this while browsing Amazon. I've always loved the N64 controller layout and I found this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B002B9FIUU
It's a N64 to USB adapter that I hope we can get to work with Emulators. I've tested the N64 controller in the N64oid app and I can't get it to work. I mapped the keys within the app and it does recognize the key presses when mapping. When the game starts the START button doesn't seem to to work.
The controller however does work when I'm on the home screen. I can move back and forth between screens and with the Analog stick.
I'm wondering if I can somehow pull the WiiMote controller app and recode it to work with the N64oid. I'm looking for suggestions on what we can do to get this to work. No documentation came with this accessory and there is a switch on it which I'm assuming switches from N64 to PS2 controller. I've only tested this in N64oid but I will try in the other emulators and see if it works. I contacted the dev of WiiMoteController to see if he'd be willing to make an app for N64.
Here are some shots of the accessory in question:
Thats cool i always wanted the snes adapter but n64 blows it away

Most definitely. I just want some input before I pull the trigger. I would be playing N64oid the most if not primarily and I need my Super Smash Brothers fix.

It's a N64 to USB adapter. I ordered 2 OTG cables and I believe that it'll work but I hope someone can confirm. I have a ton of these lying around my house and I'm dying to use it. I'm pretty sure I have an old OTG at home so I'm going to turn my house upside down today to look for it.
It's priced reasonably. Feel free to chime in. I hope this is a great find.

I would think any controller should work as long as it had the proper controller layout file in android. The PS3 and Xbox controllers have specific layout files so I would think one would be needed for a N64 controller.
I have a similar adapter for Playstation 2 Controller to USB and it only emulates mouse movements (left joystick) other buttons are not recognized. Proceed with caution.
I think I will buy it and be a guinea pig. Worst case scenario I'll just sell it to my friend who games with emulators on his laptop.

Did you try it out?
I ordered through Amazon and it took forever so I cancelled. I had better luck on eBay with the items coming from China.
I found one on eBay and ordered it today. Here's the one I got:
http://cgi.ebay.com/PS2-N64-CONTROL...Accessories&hash=item3368e62969#ht_1351wt_648
It's shipping from the U.S according to the eBay listing so hopefully I'll get it early next week. I will test this as soon as I get it and let you guys know. This would be the ultimate controller for N64oid (obviously).
I'll fill you guys in when I get it.
I'd be interested to know if it works - had trouble mapping up all the keys on a ps3 pad
e.g. the c buttons along with z/l/r/u/d/l/r/a/b

Yeah it wasn't that expensive but I hope it works. I will try this as soon as I get it. If it doesn't work I would imagine someone can make an app that can map the keys for the N64 controller like the WiiMoteController app.

Same here... is there any guide to fixing this, or remapping?
Or is it because of the controller?

I would imagine you can by making an app.

Update: I just got the accessory in the mail Friday. I will test it today and post results later today or tomorrow.
GF wants to see stupid fireworks and I may be forced to go.
Just found this thread after wondering this same question - I like how Nesoid and Snes EX run with the Wii Classic Controller but n64oid just doesn't feel the same without the N64 controller.
Any updates on this? Eager to know.
Thanks!
click the check box that says active alternate input method or something.
I tried that and nothing.

Wired Xbox 360 controller isnt working

So i bought a wired xbox 360 controller on ebay so i can play games with a controller on my g-slate (i know its not a xoom but its 3.1 and doesnt have a forum here...) but when i plug it in, the ring on the controller constantly flashes but never lets me use it... any ideas on what to do? It doesnt work on my pc but i read somewhere you need a software installed on pc for it to work
Thanks in advance!

Some controllers work for some people, some don't. It's rather iffy whether it will work or not. Personally, mine doesn't work either. However ICS has built in support for controllers so there is a good chance that it will work perfect then.
Aww man... looks like i HAVE to go buy an xbox now so my moneys not wasted... haha
But that does suck about it not working. Especially since this was the last tablet to get 3.1 so ICS might not happen for it

Did you try running windows update after you plug it in? You might want to give that a try.

If you are trying to connect the xbox 360 controller to the xoom you canĀ“t... not without a pc microsoft usb dongle that let you do that. Its made for the pc but work on the xoom. but no stick support. Why not buy does cheap usb controllers? also you cant play all games via controller. Devs have to make theyre games controller capable. Games that support this i have only seen riptide, shadowgun, cordy...and thats all maybe there are more but dunno. I think ICS will make it more easy for usb controllers to work like a mouse and sticks to work.
i hope this helps you out
i was able to get my 360 controller to work on the g slate with an app on the market for 5 bucks. usb/bt joystick center, it has a slight learning curve but the nice thing is you can export and import button layouts since some games map differently. shadowgun takes a bit to setup but once you get it up and going there is nothing that like playing on your tv with a controller.
If its a wired controller the wireless dongle is not needed.

[Q] HDMI Out w/ Standard BT Stack

So, sorry if this has been answered before, I've looked quite a bit and haven't been able to find a definitive answer. I'm running Juggernaut 4.1 which doesn't seem to work with TV-Out via MHL adapter. I installed Juggernaut so I could pair PS3 controllers to the phone for emulation. My question is, if I revert to stock ROM but root it, will I be able to run the standard BT stack to pair PS3 controllers while maintaining TV-Out capabilities? Or am I stuck waiting for ICS? Thanks so much to anyone who can provide an easy answer for me, I've honestly spent a lot of time looking for this and still can't figure it out.
I'm using same ROM, HDMI works for me.

Oh Damn, maybe it's because I didn't clear my cache when I updated the ROM? I used the TV-Out with my GF's stock ROM and nothing with mine for some reason.
The Sixaxis app works on the stock rom, but you have to be rooted. I made a video showing it off the first day the dev updated it for our phones http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1392898
Basically he worked around our non-AOSP bluetooth stack so it works. No need to use MIUI or CM7.
How they hell do you use that mhl adapter? I have one i got for free, and plugged the tv hdmi cord into it but nothing ever inputs onto the tv no matter what i run/do. Am i missing something major here?

That's what i was missing thank you!

Did I miss something??????

Ok, heres the issue.i know that with an OTG adaptor and our phones we can plug in mice, keyboards, flashdrives and self powered external hdd's. We also have figured out that you cannot plug controlers into it and expect it to work but we can use the sixaxis ps3 controlers to utilize our emulators. Now i was showing off to my son's whom have laptops and they where bragging about the n64 emulators on their respective computers, so being the caring, loving father that i am, i couldent let them gloat so i downloaded the n64 emulator and some roms on my phone and showed them up. Now mind you playing Zelda on it is not easy, so i was thinking to my self since the wii controllers do not work, "self", thats what i call my self... "self, i am cheap and dont want to spend all the money to get a ps3 controller but i want one now....Hmmm what would happen if i took my controller that i using for my mac and used that..." so i plugged it in and DAMNIT TO HELL IT WORKED!!!!!!! I was able to map my key to my emulator, control alot of the os form the joystick, which had me wondering... What if "we" only tested a small selection of controllers like only xbox360 but what about the thousands of generic controllers out there? The one i was able to get to work was the Saitek: p2500 Rumble Force. The company is still around and it seems to be just a regular controller. Just a thought.......
Nice find...but i rather stick to my wireless ps3 controller. No wires is better for me.

I'll have to 2nd that. I enjoy the PS3 controller's design. I can use it on my PC when I get home too for my other emulators.
