I just ordered one off eBay it comes with a new backplate too to fit the battery. Would this be a good choice? Or did I do something really dumb?

You'll probably be pleased with the increased battery life. I was. I wasn't too concerned about the bulge in back, although I did have to cut a square hole in my Body Glove case to make it work.
i would love one of them as well , however i use the otterbox defendr series , so i dont thik it would fit this case at all.
I've been using it for a few days and I've noticed no difference at all! It shipped with 67% battery so I ignored the 12 hour initialize it advised but I've kept my phone charging for a straight 12 hours all day without using it and when I unplugged (it read 100%) it dropped to 82%! I was surprised I check my emails and go on facebook for 10 minutes over Wi-Fi I check my phone battery and its at 79%! Thats the same as it was before I've heard reviews saying theirs stayed at 100% for 2+ hours, is there anything wrong with my battery ?
I'm not sure this would be the problem but I have seen some apps around for recalibrating batteries, maybe the battery needs to be calibrated? Also you may have a bunch of programs that you are unaware of running in the backround advanced task killer should help with that.
I bought one of these batteries. Mine worked great after recalibrating the battery stats. I ended up buying one of the wall chargers with an extra regular battery. I like the sleek vs the bulky look more. I don't even use that extended battery any more.

It worked great...how did it compare to yoru standard? 16 hours vs 10; 48 vs 24?
I'm considering one for the occasion I want to have a long life, but it seems I've read of people who say they didn't make much difference. That of course may be because of not calibrating.
[edit]
Also, there are several different onces on ebay. From what I read, there are some batteries that are not what they advertise, but some things I read are that at least some of the 3500s on ebay are pretty good. Not sure which one that is.
post the link where you bought it? I'm helping a friend looking for spare battery but not sure the one on ebay are reliable.
Does anyone know of a good extended battery that doesnt make the E4GT all that thick? I really like the device and want to keep it thin, but I'd like to have a bigger battery too.
I wish they could build a battery into the battery door. That would definitely help keep the thin profile but also allow some extra battery life.
I just keep an extra charged battery with me just in case. Funny thing is, I bought the OEM one from samsung that came with the charger/holder thing like 2 months ago, and I have NEVER had to use it. My battery lasts a godawful amount of time. I am on my phone constantly and I always have 40-60% left at the end of every day. In all fairness I do plug it in whenever I'm in the car but that is usually only for a few minutes a day.

Try ebay. I got a extra battery & external charger for less than $10 w/ free shipping like 3 months ago. Should be far less now but i used the orignal epic 4g battery info since they have been out for over a year and fits the epic touch with not problems.
hope with razr maxx thin 3300mah battery this means thing batteries for us.
Yep, my phone is melted down. Totaly busted. Went red, then melted. Really ****ing awesome.
Got a picture?
That happened to a friend of mine... Have you got pictures?
Lol, well. Let's put it this way, my picture taking device is now debris. I'll try and take a picture with a friends camera.
I only have 2000 mAh and my phone lasts for 2 days with moderate use running on stock is it just an average?
Wow that sucks. Any idea what brand or was it a non-brand item? If you have any details maybe post them so people stay away
wow, This was an original bettery?
Man that sucks, please link to the item and some picture would be nice, so nobody else`s phone suffers the same fate
is it this battery?
Thats why you shouldn't skimp out when it comes to batteries.

I have the same battery, but I'm using it rarely, the batterylife is not better than the original, and it will not fit my phone holder in the car .
But you get a better grip on the phone with that backcover.

Cant post pictures yet, nor can post links, my friend is coming home tonight to take pictures for insurance purposes. I'll post them tonight or tomorow morning, and yes, sammyx had the very same picture the eBay battery had for image, and it is the very battery that melted my phone. 3500mah!
BTW, the acid that came out of the battery burned my floor and my cloths!
Edit: Not only my battery, but my cell phone is melted also!

the battery you have in that picture is the exact same one ive had in the past, i never experienced any issues other than after approx 75 charges the battery was down to around 75% capacity, i agree with thewizard you get a much better grip with it on. it could just have been a random faulty battery but it definitely sucks that it screwed the phone up. Ive never come across a perfect solution for upgraded batteries, i went from the above mentioned to the gold 2000 mah battery and to be honest was no better than the original but cost me £10 to find out lol

Yeah the OFFICIAL 2000mah battery from Samsung
Either get(or should have gotten) the anker battery or the mugen 3600 battery. When it comes to a £500 device, then spending £10 or £70 is more than suitable.
Have a good day.
PS: Really sorry about your device..
i was so close to buying this batter just now
thanks for the heads up
and im sorry for your loss
Av been using the anker one that comes with the charger so far so good.
iv been using the 3500battery for a few weeks now in some extreme conditions and haven't had any problems.
Im feeling a bit worried now took me a while to save up for my s2.
Never buy these cheap battery's..only buy from mugen seido or anker all others are junk and have much less capacity then advertised

So my stock battery just wasn't cutting it as I would get at best nearly 4 hours of on screen time by using every battery saving feature I could think of, and always keeping Wi-Fi and GPS turned off. I ended up buying the Hyperion battery and this thing is s complete beast. Maxing my phone out, higher brightness, leaving GPS and Wi-Fi all on, playing games and watching streaming media, I can eclipse 4 hours of screen on time before I even get down to 60% remaining.
While this is great, it got me thinking that this battery isn't supposed to be more than double the life of the stock battery is it? While I'm certainly not complaining about the Hyperion, I would like to know if there is s better battery it there that would allow me to use the default case cover without making my phone huge and still allow for better battery life than I'm getting? I have two different stock batteries and both are exactly the same.
Are there any better ones out there that don't change the size of the phone?

no , there isnt any other way, if u want ore juice, its gotta be stored somewhere right, unless u double the size , u cant double the battery life. no shortcuts, teh ones that claim so are all fake so dont bother with those.
Its possible. Motorola did it with the RazrMaxx. that tiny phone has a 3300mah battery. I wish some company could look into how they made it that small. i mean if Motorola can do it. samsung should be able to pack at least 4500mah into a similar battery. lol
i read this and it upset me cuz motorola always seemed to be behind on everything and i just never liked anything they put out. the razr maxx doesnt appeal to me but its gay that that it is better in so many different ways.

Pretty sure the battery size is larger than the S3 battery. I think the largest possible capacity they can fit into a original size S3 battery is around 2500mAH.
I'm not looking to match my Hyperion with a thin battery. I'm looking for a compromise. Something that'll fit with the normal back but will do better than the stock battery.

The Razr Maxx battery isn't that small. It is simply longer and a bit skinnier than the GS3 battery. Samsung could have done it with a slightly different design of how the battery fits in the back of the phone.
OP: After properly calibrating my Hyperion battery, I religiously get Just over 3 days of usage. I like my Hyperion battery.

Let me know what you find out, ive been skeptical of getting the hyperion and anker 2200 or even the mugen 2300 cuz im not positive if just a 100-200mah increase is gonna make that much of a difference.
Mugens website shows good reviews on the 2300 but the customers dont really have any stats to back up the claims in their reviews

battery technology just needs a major overhaul... they keep putting bigger displays, more processing power and still using similar battery capacity from the past 10 years or so..
read this article: We need better battery life and more storage space before 1080p displays arrive
Motorola is one of few companies that see battery capacity important.. still, they need to make them smaller and more power, making them bigger isn't the solution..

Flash a rom with Fast Charge embedded. Aokp and a few other aosp roms have this built in and it works really well. You can get a full charge in a fraction of the time it normally takes.

that is not what fast charge is. all fast charge is, is allowing the phone to take as many amps as possible from a PC connection. when using AC power (or good car chargers) nothing changes.
also, BTW, the faster you charge the battery, the less life it has. (as in in you will need to replace it sooner.)
Fyi, I have 2 Anker batteries. They're nothing special. They're on par with stock, just no NFC, but cheap. I rotate through all 3 batteries regularly and can never tell the difference.
Imho, this is really the best you can expect with a battery with the same physical dimensions as stock.

Any good news on testing the Hyperion, anker or mugen ?
A 3200mah pack can be the same size as a 2100mah..
There are a few things that come into play:
- The actual case thickness of the pack
- the cell count inside.
Internally we dont know how many cells make up a stock 2100 pack. Could be a single 3.7volt cell @ 2100mah or could be 2x 3.7volt cells @ 1100mah each(wired in parallel)... the 3200 could be one single cell.
So a 3200mah lipo verywell could fit, and perhaps it just a hair thicker but still fits..
Disclaimer: if a seller claims that the battery is original - it's fake. There are no original batteries because OnePlus have stopped the production of accessories for our phone about 2 years ago. Even if there is a leftover stock - it will be degraded just because the Li-Ion batteries lose capacity over time.
Tested batteries:
VHBW: EU only for €17.54, tested as about 2700mAh
HSA for $12.90 - about 3000mAh real capacity, the connector is not properly aligned, longevity is unknown.
Check the last pages for the currently best batteries!
Waiting for feedbacks... I had unpleasant experiences with such high-capacity-chinese-battery-replacement. But if those are good would be awesome
Hmmm...if i'm not mistaken this battery is a bit thicker then original battery so the battery is a bit thicker then you might have a problem with GPS, NFC and Network signal as there will be a minor gaps between the back cover and the connector for all 3 antenna which is located at the back cover....
the PN is BLP571 . but the original BLP571 should be 3100mah.
so this one is not original and i can't find any review on these batteries.

You doubt? Just look at original battery when it got expanded due to years of usage...the battery forced the back cover to open a little gaps between the connector and the antenna...that wasn't the worst of it...you have 90% chances that your lcd (in the middle part) will have a little gaps due to thicker battery...

It is worth trying it. I've used oem batteries in my phones, and they work and fit just fine, however they don't necessarily have that stunningly higher capacity as advertised, and they may not last as long as a high quality original or replacement. My OPO currently has a cheap Chinese battery in it, and it's just fine. It fits better than my swollen old original one, and immediately cleared up inaccuracies in charging, and in the charging light.
I will expect to get at least a year out of it, even though cheap.
Anyone has any links to good, tested replacement batteries?
